Chapter 20

FREEN'S POV

After a week, we went to an IVF clinic in England. 

We had to answer a series of questions and after some days, Becky had to be injected. Stupid didn't even tell me she was afraid of needles. 

Right then and there I suggested we switch but she refused saying she would take it. I would always hold her hand every time it happened.

After a series of pain, she was soon fertilized with an embryo. They told us to wait for 2 to 3 weeks till she was pregnant.

We went back home since our parents were suspicious of how long our 'vacation' was taking. 

We never told anyone since we wanted to surprise but after she got pregnant.

After 2 weeks exactly, I reflected on the pain, the lies, and all the nerves but it all came to this moment.

Becky sitting on the toilet seat with two pregnancy tests on the sink surface while I was anxiously fidgeting my hands with my back against the door.

  "God why is it taking so long" I whispered to myself

"Freen can you not, your nervousness is transferring to me " she scolded

"Sorry " I bowed my head

"Ok I think it's been over five minutes let me check" I nodded and she went to the sink and looked at it but said nothing. 

She had her back turned against me so I couldn't see her expression.

"What does it say" Silence 

 "Baby are you ok" Silence makes me stand up

I went to her and turned her around. She was crying so I hugged her and caressed her hair.

Looks like it didn't work.

"It's ok baby we can always try again, it never really works on the first try" I consoled while rubbing her back.

She mumbled something I couldn't comprehend since she was sobbing so I asked her to repeat.

"I said we must be lucky cause we are pregnant" 

I hastily unhugged her and looked into her eyes, eyes widened, mouth agape.

"What" she chuckled and hugged me again

"We are having a baby" she tightened the hug. I couldn't react, I was in shock 

However soon I snapped out of it and embraced her back. I kissed her shoulder rapidly while mumbling thank yous

"I love you so much, Mommy" 

"Aww I love you more Daddy"

The next morning we went to the doctor to confirm everything and she was pregnant and healthy. We decided to tell our families after the first six weeks since that would be the ultrasound day.

After that, we went to lunch and back home.

Immediately going home Becky rushed to the bathroom and I followed behind.

She was kneeling in front of the toilet with her head on the bowl, throwing up all the lunch she just had. I went towards her and held her hair while rubbing her back.

Now I was on the verge of crying, my baby was crying and hurting and I didn't know what to do.

"If you are crying does that leave me " she said after rinsing her mouth

"Sorry," I said trying to gather myself

"It's normal Freen stop crying ok" I nodded and she hugged me

"Am tired let's sleep "We went to the room and slept.

SIX WEEKS LATER

I woke up feeling cold air hitting me, I tried going closer to Becky for body heat but she was no were to be found. 

I stood up from the bed and made my way downstairs in search of my wife.

And there she was in the kitchen, but her back was turned hence she didn't notice me.

I went to her wrapped my hands around her waist and placed my chin on her shoulder. She was frightened a bit but soon relaxed and smiled.

"What are you doing here" I asked seeing a jar of jam in her hand and a plate full of sausages on the counter.

What she did next shook me, she took one of the sausages dipped it in the jam, and turned toward me smiling 

"Here try it, its good," she said bringing the sausage toward my mouth 

Frowning, I stepped back while shaking my head 'No'. She shrudded and ate it herself.

"Come on let's go bath we have to go to the hospital," she said placing the jar on the counter

I was still shocked, I couldn't even react to her words in response she chucked and held my hand before dragging me to the bathroom.

We got ready and left for the hospital.

"Congratulations mommy's you are having a healthy baby," the doctor said showing us the baby from the ultrasound scan.

Both of us had tears in our eyes seeing the beautiful creature on the screen. It was the size of a bean but I was in awe.  

"So cute," Becky said wiping my tears

"would you like some copies" the doctor asked and we nodded in agreement.

"ten," said Becky and the doctor laughed but nodded and went out leaving us alone.

I immediately hugged and kissed Becky while giggling

"We did baby," I said 

"Yes we did it" and she hugged me back tightly

LATER THAT DAY( AT BECKY'S PARENTS HOUSE)

"Oh, what a nice surprise," said Becky's mom hugging both of us.

"To what do we owe this pleasure" 

"Ah we just missed you guys and we dropped by to say hi" Becky replied

"Ok then stay for dinner ok" Becky's dad

We went and sat down at the dining table waiting for the food. 

Becky looked at me and gave me a look that indicated that we could start our plan.

"Ah Mom, Dad can you help me with something," I asked 

Becky's mom peaked her head from behind the kitchen wall and looked at me questionly, I laughed and gestured for her to come sit.

Once sited I took two envelopes from my bag placed them before them and held Becky's hand waiting to see their reactions.

They had confused looks on their faces but still took the envelopes and opened them.

Inside the envelopes that were personally written by Becky, moms read:

Hello Grannie I know we haven't met before but I love you See you in November hope you will love me too😘😘😘

And daddy's:

Hi, Grandpa can't wait to play with you, I know we haven't met but I love you please love me too see you in November 😘😘😘😘

Both the letters had an ultrasound scan attached to them.

I saw how mom's face went from confused, to teary then fully blown out crying. She stood up and hugged us both while mumbling thank you's

However, Dad seemed very confused it took him ages to find out why his wife was crying and what the letter nor the scan meant

"Dad am pregnant" Becky helped

The old man immediately shifted his attention from the papers to us with widened eyes. Soon after, his expression changed to a livelier, excited, and proud look. They also hugged us and congratulated us.

Soon dinner was served and we ate while they talked about their plans with their grandbaby.

The next day we went to my parent's house, for them we decided to tell them the same way we told Becky's mom and dad but things took a turn.

Mom knew how Becky loved milk tea, so when we told her we were coming she prepared it for her.

We didn't even have the chance to enter the house as mom greeted us with milk tea in her hand, she placed it on Becky's hand without even waiting for her.

My poor baby, the smell of milk tea had now become her enemy and little one reacted fast making mommy nauseous immediately. She became pale and gaggy, pushing the milk tea towards Mom, mom was confused and worried but still took back the milk tea.

She rushed inside without saying anything and ran to the toilet and we followed behind.

"What's going on" Dad asked but no one answered we just ran after Becky.

Reaching there she was kneeling in front of the toilet while vomiting. I went to her side and rubbed her back while holding her hair in a ponytail.

Mom rushed back to get water for Becky but still came back with the milk tea in the other hand. This made matters worse for Becky since Mom came closer to her. 

Without thinking I grabbed the cup and poured the tea on the sink. Mom was shocked but still kept her cool. 

After vomiting Becky hugged me and cried 

"So-sorry I ruined the surprise," she said between her sobs.

I had to console her for a long time but with the help of mom telling her it was ok, she calmed down.

"Mom am sorry I ruined the surprise," She said putting both of her hands together and looking at Mom with puppy and cute but red and swollen eyes.

"It's ok sweetie, I don't care about that, am sorry I didn't know that you are now allergic," I thought she would have guessed. I looked at Becky who was equally confused

"So you don't know why milk tea made her nauseous " I asked frowning

"Yeah she must now be allergic, I mean I would have said she was pregnant but how you are both women" She shook her shoulders doing an I don't know look.

We looked at each other and broke into laughter 

"Rachel it's called IVF," said Dad behind us.

He came and pulled the both of us into a tight hug while Mom sat there confused.

"Is it the name of the disease that got Becky allergic to milk tea" We all laughed making her more confused.

Becky held her hand and pulled her slightly so she could kneel with us on the floor. Once that was done Becky hugged Mom while smiling took out a baby scan from her bag and showed it to Mom.

"No it's the reason why am pregnant but we are both girls," she said still hugging mom

"What! Oh my god am going to be a grand mom" she shouted and we nodded 

Becky gave Dad the other scan, so he could see.

"that little bean is why my baby doesn't drink milk tea anymore," I said and Becky laughed.

I stood up and helped Becky stand and my parents did the same.

"When is she coming," Mom asked still admiring the baby scan.

"November and we don't even know if it's she or he" I answered

"Just say they, them, theirs if you want to address the baby, you know they can be offended," Dad said

"Wow somebody did his homework when his daughter came out, " I said looking at dad

"Yes I wanted to understand what to say to you so you can be comfortable," he said

"Yeah and to embarrass me in front of my friends" I rolled my eyes

We went out of the bathroom to the sitting room

"Freen it was a mistake, I didn't know that you hadn't told them"

"But dad threatening them to accept my gayness or you will make their parents poor is a whole another level of a 'mistake'" I rolled my eyes again

"He did what" Becky asked while hysterically laughing

I pretended to sulk but they continued laughing and I had to join in.

    --

A week later we invited our friends Nam, Noey, Kade, and Becky's best friend Irin for a lunch date at our favourite restaurant.

We picked up Irin since she didn't know our favourite restaurant as she was never invited. It was because Becky was hiding her not me 

Anyway, after picking her up we went to the restaurant where we found everyone seated waiting for us. They all drooled on seeing Irin especially Noey who was now dropping rizz on the poor girl.

"OK stop it we have to show you something" Becky silenced the quibbling's between the friends and all attention was on her

She was holding a paper bag in her hand and placed it on top of the table

She took out several small boxes and gave each to them.

"Oh what's this" Kade asked shaking the box.

"Wait don't open it yet" Said Becky stopping Irin who was already opening the box.

 "Love record now" she said giving me her phone.

Once done Becky told them to open while I take a video

In the box was  two pairs of a month old baby's shoes, colour blue, the other pink attached to a letter that read:

Lets see who gets to put on my shoes first aunties 

and an ultra sound scan of the baby.

"Oh my fucking god" Shouted Nam since she was the first to understand

She rushed to Becky's side and hugged her tightly and kissed the scan

She was followed by Kade and Irin who kept congratulating us.

However Noey my stud lesbian masc friend was looking at the scan with teary eyes, she hugged the shoes and cried.

Mind you no offence but she's hella strong, she shocked all of us when she cried.

"Am an aunt" She said crying, Becky stood up and hugged and consoled her grown ass. They were now crying together.

After they stopped crying Becky wiped her tears and said

"She's going to put on my baby's shoes first " There a bomb shell was dropped, we all widened our eyes

"Becky that is not fair" Nam argued 

"Yeah just because she is a cry baby she gets to go first no way" Kade said shaking her head

"Shut up or this is the last time you will get another baby update" She warned pointing a finger at them.

They all fell silent and I laughed seeing the effect of my cute wife and baby on them.

Becky smiled even scaring them since she shifted from angry to smiley in a minute

"Am hungry lets eat" now she was acting like a kid

"Ahh yes sit mama and eat to feed my little sunshine" Nam said kneeling to rub Becky's not so visible baby bump

She kissed the baby bump and stood up. The rest sat down and called the waiter to order.

We were bombarded with a series of questions to which we answered while eating.

Done eating and ready to leave but Nam and Noey refused letting go of my wife, they said that they didn't want her to leave.

"Guys Becky is tired and needs to rest come on" I convinced them and finally they let go.

We went home happy with how things turned out perfectly 

But I still had to finish my job 

The Robert Armstrong job.
