Spilled Blood
05:47, 1 April 2024Gimli sliced into the Orc's back with his axe. I pushed the orcs sword up and sliced its head off. Then I pushed the orc off of me and stood on my feet.
I looked around at the men on their horses. The orcs and dogs were mostly finished off. There were only a few left.
"Where is Aragorn?" I asked. Gimli looked around as well. "Aragorn!" I shouted as I trailed up the hill and looked around at the bodies in the grass.
"Aragorn?" Gimli yelled as well.
An orc laughed at me as I walked him past him. I turned around and looked upon the dying creature. I picked up a sword and pointed it at the orc's neck. "Tell me what happened and I won't let you suffer," I said.
"He's..." the orc coughed, "dead! He took a little tumble off the cliff."
"You lie!" I screamed. The orc continued to laugh.
"You witch!" He cackled. "As long as you are here, these people will be put in danger. It's your blood he wants and it's your blood he shall get. Even if that means spilling others blood!" He coughed some more.
"Who wants her blood?!" Legolas asked.
"Saruman," he choked. Then the orc coughed one last time and his head fell back as he died.
I ran up the rocks to the cliff and looked down below at the river. "No," I muttered. "No. No. No!" A strong wind blew Legolas and Gimli a few steps backwards. My hair flew in the wind and my cloak detached from my shoulders and blew away. I fell onto my knees and the wind suddenly stopped.
I stared at the river and thought of what the Orc had said.
"I'm going to Saruman," I announced.
"What?" Legolas asked.
I stood up and turned around to them. "I am going to Saruman. He will stop at nothing until he has my blood. I won't let any more people die for a war they don't want to be in," I said. "I can match Saruman's magical capabilities. I can put an end to him and that will stop the terrible creatures from killing those innocent people."
"You cannot avoid war," Legolas said. "It is destined."
"I'm not avoiding war. I'm simply ridding Sauron of his puppet. It'll get us one step closer." I looked around at the grassy hills. "Go to Helm's Deep. I hope to be back soon I can lead, as it was always written. And if I am not...so be it."
