Chapter 1: Spin the Bottle
05:38, 23 December 2022A/N: I thought of this story recently, so I hope you all enjoy! If you haven't, check out my other books, but other than that, enjoy :)
Gaege's (Juicy's) POVIt all started with Spin the Bottle. I thought it was just an innocent party game. We all did. But we realized we were all terribly wrong. If I could go back, I would have changed everything that happened that night. I would have said no. I would have never answered Josh's call for a party at his house. Although, I couldn't go back now. Not after everything that has happened to us.
Just a few weeks ago, Josh invited me over to his house. "Hey, Juicy!" He called me, making me smile, "Are you coming to the party in a bit?"
I nodded, glancing at the clock over my shoulder. "Of course! How could I pass up on the chance to party?"
"Awesome! I'll see you there!" He hung up, making me jittery with excitement. It had been a while since the boys and I had gone to a party together. They were my scene after all.
I pulled on my best pair of ripped jeans and a plain white t-shirt. Then, I grabbed my blue jean jacket and a black beanie, pairing them with cargo boots. I looked at myself in the mirror, smiling confidently.
My thoughts then traveled to the other boys, a small frown forming on my face. I recently had been thinking about Mully and Eddie a lot more than usual. They had been acting really weird around me, as if they weren't telling me something.
I then heard a knock at my door, remembering that one of the boys was supposed to pick me up. I hurried to answer the door, making sure my hair looked okay before opening it. My heart skipped a beat when my eyes met Mully's, a smile spreading on my face when I saw him.
"Hey! I didn't know you were coming for me." I gave him a hug, patting his back. "I thought Eddie was going to pick me up."
Mully shook his head as he shrugged a shoulder. "He... got busy at the last minute. I think he needed to help Josh and Narrator with something at the party, so he called me to pick you up instead." I nodded, following him outside to his car.
We drove to Josh's house, chatting and laughing together. I hadn't spoken with Mully in a while. When we arrived, I was instantly met with the other three boys smiling faces. "Juicy!" Eddie said, the first one to spot me, "I was wondering when you were going to show up!" He pulled me into a hug, making me smile. "Juicy!" Josh put a hand on my shoulder, "Glad you can make it!"
There was music blaring into the late evening air, and I could already see a ton of people inside of Josh's house. "Yeah! We were about to head inside," Narrator said to me, the five of us walking to Josh's front door, "How about a round of drinks?"
My senses were instantly overwhelmed the moment I walked into Josh's house. People were dancing and chatting, the smell of food filled the air, and the speakers blasted music. The sun was already setting, and people were hanging out near the pool. Even though so much was going on at once, I still lived for it.
"Here," Josh handed me a cold drink. "I still need to greet a few people, so I'll be right back." He disappeared into the crowd of people, leaving the four of us alone. I took a sip of the beer, refreshed by the adrenaline rush and the bitter taste run down my throat. We danced and partied for a few hours until we were drunk and exhausted as hell.
"It's way too loud in here," Mully stretched his back with a groan. "You guys wanna head to Josh's room?"
"My room?" Josh shrugged, gesturing to the staircase behind us. "Sure. We can head to my room for a break." We all agreed, especially since our ears were pounding from the loud music.
The music faded away a little, and I could finally hear myself speak. My throat burned from the alcohol that I drank, but I ignored it. When we entered the room, Mully collapsed on the bed. "Ima take a nap dude. I'm cooked," Mully let out a sigh.
"Man, that's lame!" Eddie started to say, but I smiled mischievously as I saw Mully fidgeting with the empty glass bottle in his hands.
"Why don't we play spin the bottle?" I suggested, making them turn their heads towards me. "Classic but still exciting?"
"Spin the bottle?" Narrator chuckled, his eyes crinkling as he smiled. "I haven't played that game since high school."
"I'm up for it," Josh grinned, his face flushed from the alcohol running through him. Eddie shrugged while Mully nodded, "It'll be fun dude."
Josh chugged the last of his bottle, setting it on the floor as we gathered in a circle. My breath hitched in my throat as Mully sat beside me, refusing to look him in the eyes. "Who's getting it first?" I asked as Josh spun the glass bottle. It spun in a quick circle, the suspense of it landing on me beginning to naw at me.
It slowly came to a stop at Eddie, who was sitting across from me. "Ohh!" We all laughed, looking back down at who the bottle will land on next. Josh spun the bottle again, my heart racing.
It then came to a stop on me, and I gasped. My face turned red as his eyes met mine, my heart pounding even harder. "Damn! Juicyyy!" Mully teased, punching me in the shoulder.
"Wow, of course it landed on him," Narrator crossed his arms as he muttered under his breath. "Well, better get in the closet," Josh smirked as he stood to open the closet doors behind him.
"What? I thought it was just a kiss on the lips!" Eddie said in shock. "I'm not getting in there!"
"Nope, too late," Mully countered, already pushing Eddie to his feet. "Unless you're bitching out?"
There was silence between the two of us, my mind internally freaking out. Eddie glanced at me, hesitating before saying, "Fuck no. Come on, Juicy."
He brought me inside the closet, leaving the others behind. We stood in awkward silence for a few moments, the sound of the party outside sounding more distant. Eddie cleared his throat, rubbing his neck nervously as he looked around.
The closet was dimly lit, and I glanced around. It didn't have much, but I was trying to find something to say. The awkwardness was thick in the air, so thick, I could cut through it with a knife if I wanted to.
"We don't have to do anything if you don't want to," He interrupted, avoiding my eyes. "It's up to you."
I licked my lips nervously, fidgeting with my fingers. "Yeah, it's fine..." I glanced around the dimly lit closet, my mind racing for something to say.
Eddie cleared his throat, rubbing the back of his neck again. "So, uh..." I started to say, but my voice slowly trailed off.
"This is too much," Eddie shook his head with an airy laugh. "We're best friends, Juicy. We've been in worse situations, right?"
"Yeah, sure dude," I smiled a little, relieved from the tension coiling in my chest. "The boys wouldn't know if we messed around or not."
Eddie laughed a little, making me raise an eyebrow. "What's so funny?" I asked, crossing my arms.
"To think I would end up stuck in a closet with you," Eddie shook my head. "And that we would make out in one either."
"I mean, we're not... you know," My cheeks grew a slight shade of red, and I silently pleaded that Eddie wouldn't notice in the dark. "You don't have to say it like that."
Eddie smirked, watching my face grow more embarrassed the more he watched me. "You're very easy to fluster, you know that?" He teased, taking a step closer to me, "Kind of makes me wonder why..."
I stuttered, stepping back when I saw him approach me, "W-what do you mean?" I backed up against the wall, suddenly feeling smaller.
"What I mean is..." Eddie put a hand on the wall, making the breath catch in my throat. "How about we follow the rules of the game after all?"
I stared at him in shock, not knowing how to feel about what was happening. The seductive look in his eyes made me swallow a lump forming in my throat. "Are you trying to prove something here?" I challenged, standing up straighter.
"Maybe," Eddie chuckled, looking me over. "You haven't pushed me away yet." I realized he was right, my eyes flickering down to his lips. He was close, so close. I begged my arms to react, to nudge him awake and laugh it off, but the urge to pull him closer began to win.
Our faces were inches apart, but I didn't know if I wanted to break the space between us. We were best friends, yet as he towered over me, my heart raced. The seven minutes were almost up, and I needed to act fast.
He saw my eyes glance at the timer on his phone, and he looked over his shoulder at it. "Two minutes," He read before turning back to me. "You did suggest this game after all. Why don't we have a bit of fun while we're at it?"
My eyes slid shut when he leaned in, gently kissing me on the lips. I wrapped my arms around him as he pressed his body against mine. I could tell he was experienced at this, feeling his want through just that one kiss alone. The warmth from his body made my face heat up, but I was so absorbed in him, I didn't want him to stop.
Before I could reach my hands under his shirt, the timer rang, making us split apart quickly. "Shit," I looked back up at Eddie, rolling my eyes as I nudged him away. "You had you're fun."
Eddie smirked, pulling away from me, "You know you loved it too." I didn't answer, only stepped out of the closet with my cheeks flushed again.
I was instantly met with worried expressions from Josh and Mully, however. "What..." I looked around, realizing Narrator wasn't there, "What happened?"
Eddie stumbled out of the closet, putting a hand on my shoulder. "Where's Narrator?" He asked, scratching his head.
"He... He left," Mully told us, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Why?" I furrowed my eyebrows, realizing something wasn't right, "Where did he go?"
They exchanged a concerned glance again, and Mully bit his lip nervously. Narrator had left his drink spilled on the floor, which was strange considering he hated making a mess. "Guys! Answer me!" I demanded again, slightly surprised by my raised voice.
Josh and Mully glanced at each other before Josh answered, "He started to break down once you guys spent a long time in there. We don't know why."
Eddie gave me a worried glance, instantly taking out his phone. "Shit, we have to find him!" Eddie ran a hand through his hair, "He's way too drunk and its the middle of the night. Anything can happen."
Josh nodded, standing up from his bed, "We were going to go after him, but he seemed really upset, dude."
I bit my lip nervously, knowing something wasn't right. We were missing something, but I didn't know what. Although as I looked over Eddie, remembering our kiss, I realized why he had ran away.
