Chapter 10
09:17, 18 November 2013Once I was ready for bed, I saw that Gracie had already come in my room. I decided to see if Zak was okay. I got out of my bed and I walked to the living room. He was in there watching TV. When I went back in the room, she was on my bed. I smiled at her and got in the bed.
"Just don't push me out." I told her as I rubbed her behind her ear. We then laid down and stayed there for a while.
I woke up to the sound of the attatchments talking. I heard them say something about possessing Zak. I knew that would be bad. I kept my eyes closed. Then my necklaces started to be pulled. I woke up and I saw that they were pulling them off. With one huge pull, they had removed them from my neck. My enerhy was now exposed, I was exposed, my soul was exposed, and I was freaking out.
"No, please, no." I said as I got out of the bed. I didn't have a chance to grab the medalions, but I grabbed the bag as I ran out of the room. There were more in the living room.
They surrounded me and started to attack me. It was a mental and spiritual attack. They were taking my energy and using it from me. Then there were some that were getting in my head and bringing up memories.
Then I started to hurt. I could feel the place of my third eye in pain and I felt like the sides of my head were coming in. I opened my eyes to see that there were a couple that were applying pressure to my head.
"Stop! please! Please stop." I whimpered. I knew that it was quiet. I was in so much pain, I didn't think that I could be any louder. I heard some footsteps and I figured that I would be gone. If there was an attatchment that could make that much noise, it was powerful enought to kill me.
It then lifted me up. I looked to see that it was Zak. He picked me up and took me to his room. I saw that the attatchments were following. I was able to regain some composure, since he had taken them away from me. He set me on his bed.
"Light the sage. Light it and put it at the door." I told him as they came in the room to finish me. I saw that he was doing as I said. He lit it and they started to go away. They soon left the room. He placed it at the bottom of the door.
"What was that about? What happened?" He asked me. I was so tired and hungry. I knew it was because I had no energy left. I sighed and felt my neck. They really took my necklaces.
"I think that I need a tattoo." I said quietly to myself. I knew that didn't answer Zak's question, but he seemed to be amused by it.
"I was attacked. I know that it sounds bad. Well it was, but that's not the point. It was my fault. I casued it by helping you." I told him. He nodded his head and looked at my neck.
"Where are they?" He said as he pointed to my chest.
"In my room. I can get them." I told him.
"No, I am not letting the medium go back to the place where she was having an attack." He told me with a smile. He then left the room to collect my necklaces.
I started to remember what had happened when I was there. All the memories came rushing back to me. It was like they had unlocked some old files that I didn't want. I was remembering my father and how he had treated me. I was remembering the people in the hospital. Then there were the ones of the man that I had loved. All the horrible things came back to me in a rush.
I started to shake and cry. There was a reason that I didn't want them. I hated all of those memories. They meant nothing to me anymore, yet they could cause so much damage. I sat in the middle of his bed and tried to not break down.
"What is wrong? What happened?" Zak asked as he came in the room. I looked at him and sighed. Gracie came in with him and got on the bed. He did the same and handed me the necklaces.
"It is nothing. Just some bad things that I was remembering." I told him as I wiped the tears away.
"You can tell me. I am not ever going to hurt you. I promise that I won't ever do anything to hurt you." He told me. I shook my head and didn't look at him.
"That is what they were supposed to do, but I got hurt. How the hell am I supposed to trust you to do that?" I asked him. I was now getting angry. I knew that it was from the fact that I didn't have the necklaces on. I then put them on. Maybe that would get me under control.
"I guess you can, because I haven't hurt you. I am not supposed to either." He told me. He had a point. I felt myself start to calm down. I closed my eyes and I took a deep breath in.
"I can't tell you. Not yet." I told him. He seemed to understand. He sat on the bed next to me and grabbed my hand.
"You don't have to tell me now. But if you need to ever talk about it, I will be more than happy to listen." He told me. Zak then laid in his bed and Gracie jumped up and rested between the two of us. I sighed and looked at the door. Once I had collected myself and my emotions, I got off of the bed and I went to the door.
"Where are you going?" Zak asked me before I got to the door. I turned around slowly and looked at him.
"I was going to head back to the guest room. I think that we should head back to sleep." I told him. He sat up and looked at his bed.
"Um, are you sure? I mean, that was there you got attacked. Don't you think that it is a bad idea now?" He asked me. He seemed to be really worried about me.
"What do you want me to do?" I whined to him. He smiled at me and looked at his bed.
"You can sleep here. I think that Gracie and I can make some room." He told me. That was a joke. His bed was huge. I sighed and smiled at him.
"You are a dork, but thanks." I told him. I then walked back to this bed and I got in on the other side.
"Thanks for being so nice to me. You don't have to be, though. I can deal with assholes." I told him. He laughed and looked at me.
"Well, what if I am just a nice person?" He asked me. I smiled at him and got what he was saying. I looked at Gracie and she was sleeping between us. Zak then closed his eyes and fell asleep. I was soon asleep too.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
"Good morning! I think that you should get up and realize that Zak is looking at you! Oh and by the way, next time you sleep with him, wear a sports bra or something. 'Cause he had a tendency to grab you. Just a warning." I heard Leonard say to me. I opened my eyes and I saw that Zak was looking at me. He was close to me, but not too close.
"Is there something on my face?" I asked him. He laughed and shook his head.
"No, there wasn't." He told me. He then got out of the bed and went to the bathroom. I looked at his dog and she looked really happy.
"Let's go get a breakfast." I said to her. She and I got off of the bed and went to the kitchen. I gathered her bowl and poured her some food. I guessed how much she would eat. When I gave it to her, she licked my hand. I thought that it was a little weird that she did that.
"Thanks, for doing that." Zak said as he came out of his room. He then started to make some coffee. That was when I saw what the time was. It was nearly 10:00 a.m.
"Oh my god. Shouldn't we be heading off to work?" I asked Zak in a panicked tone.
"That's right! I forgot to tell you that we are leaving for Georgia tonight." He told me. I sighed and looked around the house. There were still a lot of spirits around.
"Do you feel like you could work today? Or do you still feel tired?" I asked him. Zak turned and faced me.
"I think that I could do some stuff." He told me. I smiled at him then looked at Gracie. She was sitting at my feet.
"I think that we could let me know when you are ready. Until then, I am going to dress." I told him. I then left the kitchen. I could heard Leonard giving me cat calls as I walked away. Listening to him was like have a perverted Jiminy Cricket.
Once I had put on some normal clothes, I went back out to see that Zak was already in the living room. He was dressed also. He was still wearing his glasses, though. I smiled at him as I walked in the room. I would have to use some candles this time. I wanted him to get rid of the powerful ones today.
"So you are ready?" I asked him as I walked in the room. He looked at me and nodded his head. Gracie knew that we were now doing something so she went outside.
"What are we doing?" He asked me. I smiled at him and lit the candles.
"I want you to do the same thing, except I will tell you to get rid of something in particular." I told him. He nodded his head. I handed him the crystal and he closed his eyes.
"Lay down. It will help, because this will be harder. Remember the good thoughts." I told him as I finished lighting the candles and sage. I would have to get more, but I wasn't too worried right now. Zak laid down and held the crystal.
"Start getting rid othe the strings that feel the heaviest. Do your best to get rid of them." I told him. He must have started to do as I say. I saw some started to fade away. He then started to have some struggle. I looked to see that one of them were holding on to his arm.
"Damn it." I whispered. I then took my necklaces off. This was a bad idea, but that was the one that he needed to get rid of.
I touched his heart and solar plexes. I then began to give him my energy. This was so hard for me to do, but it was something that he needed. I saw that he was starting to have an easier time with it. The demon looked at me one more time, then it disappeared.
"Lea, I think that is enough. You need to stop or something it going to happen." Leonard told me. He was right. I stopped and Zak opened his eyes. My hands were still on his chest, but I couldn't move them. I had given him too much energy. I then passed out on him.
"Lea, come on. Wake up. Please." Zak told me. I opened my eyes. I was still weak, but I felt weird. I looked up to see that Zak was right over me.
"What is it? What happened? How long was I out?" I asked as I sat up.
"It wasn't too long. I put your necklaces on you, though." He told me. I felt them and they were there.
"What was that? What did you do?" He asked.
"That was me giving you my energy. I need to eat something." I said. I then got up, but I couldn't stand for long.
"Aw shit." I mumbled as I hit the ground.
"Are you okay?" Zak asked me. I looked at him and shook my head.
"This is so stupid. So I can't walk right now. I used too much on you. I just really wanted you to get rid of a couple today." I told him. He smiled at me and rolled his eyes.
"Let me carry you." He told me. I looked at him and he lifted me up. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he took me to the kitchen. He set me on a counter.
"So what do you want to eat?" He asked as he looekd in the fridge.
"Do you have anything like candy or something sweet?" I asked him. He then turned and grinned at me.
"Something like me?" He asked me. I rolled my eyes and sighed.
"You can't blame a guy for trying." He said he then pulled out a bag of chocolate. I smiled at him and we ate some quietly. I was getting back to normal, slowly.
When I was back to normal, Zak and I went to our respective rooms to pack. Nick was going to pick us up and take us to the airport. I had packed a couple of clothes. It wasn't too much, but it would be enough for the trip.
NIck came in his car and picked us up as said. We went to the airport to get on the plane. The money that was used for us to get there, was used by Travel channel. I was glad that the guys weren't going to fight me to get the ticket. My seat was between Nick and Billy.
The plane ride was quick and quiet. I could hear Leonard talking in the back. Listneing to him talk about random things was making me crazy. I wanted to tell him to keep it quiet, but then I would look crazy. NIck could see that I was getting agitated while we were on the plane.
"What is it?" He asked me. I sighed and looked at Leonard. He was just sitting in the back.
"I hear something that is really annyoing. Don't worry about me. I will be fine." I told him. He smiled at me.
"He has a wonderful smile. Girl, I would jump him, but he has a wifey." Leonard said. I rolled my eyes at that.
"Are you sure that you are okay?" He then asked me.
"Look, I get that you think that I am crazy. You might even think that I am a bad idea. And I have to agree with you. I totally belong in the straight jacket. Just let me know when you want me gone and I will be out of here with no questions asked." I told Nick. I needed him to know that it was okay if he didn't like me. I could get out and let Zak do his excersises when he needed to.
"Lea, I don't dislike you or anything. You aren't crazy either. I just wasn't sure about you for a while. Zak and Aaron told me that you were pretty cool. Then when I saw how you were working with Billy, I changed my mind. I am just trying to get to know you." He told me. I smiled at him and nodded my head.
"Well thanks for the effort. I am sorry for being so defensive." I told him. He then handed me a pack of ear plugs.
"I usually have to use these for Aaron." He whispered. Billy was listneing to music.
"Thanks." I told him. He and I grabbed a pair and used them.
For the rest of the time, I was at peace. I figured this was how most people were. They didn't hear what I heard. They didn't come in contact with anything strange. They were just normal.
Upon arrival, we grabbed our luggage and departed to the hotel. Nick and Billy were sharing a room and I was sharing wone with Zak. Aaron was okay with having his own room. He knew that he was a messy room mate to have.
"So what are we going to be investigating?" I asked Zak and Aaron. I was sitting on my bed with Aaron. He and I were already like brother and sister.
"It is an older bar. It used to be a hotel and there were a couple of deaths in the hotel. There was a ritual done in there too." Zak told me. He was on his phone, looking at something.
"It has a pretty dakr past." Aaron added. I figured that it would be.
"It's a bar? That is awesome. Maybe we can get some drinks. You know what is supposed to be good for the soul? Drinking. Drinking is suppposed to be good for the soul. I think that it just lets humans release their energy, but what ever." Leonard rambled. I tried to ignore it.
"I am ggoing to go for a walk. I think that you should stay here." I said. I really wanted to be alone. Leonard knew that it was to him, but it was also applied to Zak and Aaron just as easily.
"Alright. Just be safe." Zak said as he looked at me. I smiled and left the hotel room to go on my walk.
I walked around the town for a while. It was pretty late so no one was really out. There were a couple of people that looked suspicious, but I was actually intimadating to meet. That was one thing that I have always had to my advantage.
All I could hear were the sound sof the old town. I figured that the civil war had a part in this town. There were a lot of lost souls. They looked like they had no idea what was going on around them. It was actually really weird for me.
"You, girl. Come here." an old woman said to me. I looked at her and walked to her car cautiously. I was sure to look around for any threat.
"You are going to get into some trouble soon. Your past will come back. you must stay true to yourself and to your friends. They will help you. Don't push anyone away this time. He will be able to help you." She told me as she held my hand. She then smiled at me one last time before she drove off. She left me there standing and looking at her leave.
"Well that was vague!" I yelled at her as she turned the corner.
