chapter 23

4 years later,

(Their age and jobs are as in the intro chapter)

Taehyung and Hoseok moved in together and sooner they bought a new house.

Hoseok is a choreographer for two boy band groups. He also opened his own dance studio teaching kids hip hop dance few months ago. He decided to leave the label but PD requested him to stay because of his amazing monitoring skills. He is managing both now.(A/n: rich boy you know)

After graduation, Taehyung got a job as project manager. He liked it but they overloaded him with work that he didn't mean to do. It'll be tiring sometimes.

Though Hoseok's earnings are enough for them, he didn't wanna idle all day bothering his boyfriend. He thinks Hoseok already did many things for him.He wanted to help the older.

They are such a cute and dorky couple.

Aecha has been a good partner to Jungkook these 4 years. his label accepted his relationship and made it official in public 6 months ago. Also, Jungkook revealed his sexuality.

The First few weeks were terrible.

He received more hate than support from his fans. They showed their hatred of his relationship on social media. Some fans hated him for his sexuality receiving threats from sasaengs.

~~~ “he’s not even 25 and already in a relationship. Too early”

“he likes both men and women ew…”

“He just debuted 4 years ago and is in love. So irresponsible”

“Why am I surrounded by homos?”

“I hate him”

“He is not thinking about his fans.”

“My idol is no more single, he betrayed me” ~~~

He was tired of these comments.

Aecha tried her best not to involve them in trouble. Like they met less often in public, not going alone for a few weeks, and explained their struggle to fans.

But life is not a paradise though. they argued due to the lack of communication. he was frustrated by the hate accompanying his restless schedules.

They convinced each other that the hate will end soon but it got worse.

He got canceled an award show performance due to the huge hate. His true fans supported him. they reported the sasaengs and haters. Jungkook got some strength from his lovable fans and continued his works.

He is gonna have a concert in LA in a few days as he was supported by them the most.

the hate was reduced now but his relationship became questionable at this point.

They barely talked to each other and if they attempt to talk, it’ll end in a big fight. The misunderstanding grew wild. Jungkook fought with Aecha always doubting her.

And now, Jungkook is at home packing things at night as he is going to LA the next day.

Aecha helped him and initiated a talk but ended in a fight.

"Seriously, I’m regretting doing things to him before. You just deserve that bastard.”

“Wait… what did you just say?”He tilted his head with a confused expression.

“ n - nothing”She replied nervously after realizing what she said.

“no, you said you regret doing something.”

“I just rambled out of tiredness. Y- you go to sleep”She tried to walk away.

But the other gripped her shoulders.

“This is not the first time you are saying this.”He asked with a dangerous glare.

“nothi – “

“stop lying, What have you done that time? I know it’s related to my ex. I knew I was dumb for not looking around.”Tears blurred his eyes but managed not to break down.

“Not again Kook. Please believe me. I didn't do anything.”

“huh, believe you. I was blinded by your lies right.”

She hung her head low blinking away her tears. She didn’t want to leave him.

“ I’m sorry for disturbing you. I won’t bother you when you are tired. It’s my fault”She pushed him and dashed out of the room crying.

Jungkook threw his backpack aside.

“Why am I ended up like this?”His eyes turned glossy. He cried muffling his voice by hugging the pillow.

This has become their routine for the past 2 months.They talk; they argue; they get hurt; they cry.

He realized she did something wrong.

He heard his friends gossiping about her back in his trainee days but didn't bother. He was blinded by her at that time. his thoughts are eating him out. 

Trust issues in a relationship are the worst you know. They'll destroy everything including nothing.

A few minutes later, he called someone.

It was Haewon. She would never snitch about Aecha to him. Though Jungkook know he won't get any answer, he didn't have any other to ask.

She is Aecha’s best friend on the label. he thought she must know about this.

On the call:(This is the second time I'm doing this.)

Haewon: hello jungkook!

Jungkook:  yeah Nuna.

Haewon: how was your practice? You’ll be at the airport tomorrow.

Jungkook: it’s a good Nuna. I wanna ask you something.

Haewon: yeah

Jungkook: I… it’s about Aecha

Haewon:wait, did you guys argue again?

Jungkook: uhmm.. yeah. But what she said is bothering me now.

Haewon: oh

Jungkook: did she do anything to my ex? like a not-so-good thing.(His voice cracked at the end)

Haewon: I don’t know Jungkook. she won’t share it with me.

Jungkook: I know you are defending your friend. Let me know if anything is wrong. At least tell me this time. I feel dumb, please...(he cried at the end.)

Haewon: Jungkook stop crying.

Jungkook: I'm begging you, If you know anything, please tell me. I don't have anyone to ask. I couldn't believe anyone.(He spoke while crying.)

There was a minute of silence.

Haewon: Stop crying Jungkook. I didn't think she would be this selfish.

(She felt bad for Jungkook. She understood it's  unfair to hide it for too long)

Haewon: I don't know about your ex but she was the reason for Hoseok changing the agency.

Jungkook: what?(He was surprised)

Haewon: yeah, Hoseok knew she was hitting on you and warned her. That ended in an argument.He tried to acknowledge you but she was fast and lied about him.

Jungkook: what lies?(Tears rolled down his cheeks)

Haewon: s - she lied about Hoseok loving you... Aecha loved you knowing you loved someone else. Hoseok warned her but she spread a rumor and ruined his reputation. T - that even ruined your friendship. Then you guys became closer...(Her voice shaky at the last line)

Jungkook broke down crying loudly.  Haewon tried to calm him.

Haewon: I'm sorry Jungkook, I remained silent cause of my friend.I couldn't see you suffering now. It's not a healthy bond though. I realized it's fair for you to know this now.

Jungkook: so what did Hoseok hyung say?

Haewon: he said the truth.

Jungkook: I messed up.

Jungkook: thank you Nuna. At least I get to know after 4 years. I know what to do now.(His voice was hoarse.)

Haewon: what you gonna do?

Jungkook: ok Nuna. Bye

He didn't wait and hung up the call.

He knocked on Aecha's door. (They are staying in separate rooms now)

She opened and met with her boyfriend whose face is the same as hers, tear-stained and messy.

"Jungkook"

"How can you act so good?"

"What do you mean?"

"Please stop your act Aecha."

"I'm trying hard to make our relationship happier like before. But you always yell at me"

"That's useless now."

Aecha's eyes widened, her puffy eyes were tired from crying.

"Jungko -"

"Why did you lie about Hoseok?"His eyes fixed on her.

"Lie?"

"Please admit it, Aecha. It's the time"Jungkook yelled at her face.

She was frozen on the spot processing what he just said.

"Aecha I'm talking to you"He shook her shoulders.

"Is it true? You lied about Hoseok, you ruined our friendship right"

His voice raised at every sentence. She just watched him in horror.

"It's... It's true Jungkook but -"Aecha admitted avoiding eye contact. She got red handed though.

Jungkook pushed her. He let out another stream of tears from his tired eyes. He felt like he was the dumbest guy on this planet. He was living with a lie all these years.He kneeled and face palmed crying. She approached him but was roughly pushed by the crying male.

"Why?"It was all he could speak.

She just cried with him at the same spot.

" I love you so much Jungkook. I - I never felt like this for anyone. My heart couldn't stop thinking about you though you loved Taehyung.Yes, I lied about Hoseok and that he loves you. He meddled in my business. I got rid of him. I love you and did all this to be with you.Though I lied about Hoseok, I didn't lie about my love for you. All my words expressed by love are true. Plea - "

"Please don't. all these days I've been fooled by you. I hurt my Tae. I lost his sincere love for me.I lost my precious ones for a walking lie like you."

He interrupted and stood up.

" It's not a relationship anymore. Let's break up. That's better for both of us "

She shook her head no.

"No Jungkook, we can make it better. Please don't leave me. I love you"She begged him by holding his hand.

He yanked the hand,

"THAT IS OBSESSION NOT LOVE.I'm sure. It's better to part ways instead of pretending what we didn't have."

"No Jungkook, I won't leave you. Please"

"I mean every single word I'm saying now,

LET'S END THIS. I DON'T WANNA SEE YOU. I'LL THINK OF YOU AS A NIGHTMARE AND FORGET IT.

I HATE YOU... "

Aecha frowned in anger. She wiped her tears and spoke,

" You made the first move by confessing. It's not all my fault. Everything is not forced by me, you did it at your own will.

I lied about Hoseok but I didn't force you to break up with Taehyung that quick.We both made mistakes. Let's rectify that. We can be happy like before."

"No way I'm returning to hell."

"Huh, suddenly my presence feels like hell. I've done many things for you though most of them are wrong. You can't go to Taehyung again."

Jungkook's eyes widened,

"What the fuck? Do you think I live with someone who ruined my love? How can I love you after knowing your true side? "

" And You think I would give up on you after doing all these things to get you? I won't let my love be a miserable failure."

She glared at Jungkook with a hint of evilness.

Now Jungkook gets to know about her true color of her.

"Aecha, you are not loving me but your toxic mindset of 'winning everything by any means'. You are afraid of failing not losing me. I'm not an object to challenge and win over."

"you're right. I hate failure. you're not an object but a treasure. I would cherish a treasure forever. I won't leave you.

And no one gives up the treasure. Cause world is Full of greedy people."

She smiled slightly.

"Jungkook, I've never been this serious for a person. Maybe I chose wrong path but my love for you is sincere.

And if you get on my nerves and ignore me, I don't hesitate to do anything to get you. ANYTHING"

Those words gave goosebumps to Jungkook. He stared at her with dilated pupils as if he were seeing a horror film. Yes, he is seeing one.

"I - I don't care. I'll announce our break-up in public soon"He regretted stuttering.

"Ok then, You try everything to get rid of me. I'll try everything to get you back again.

You can go anywhere but I won't leave you.And I take this as a challenge. Cheating is accepted."

Aecha smirked.

"This is wrong."His voice trembled. Her dark side is scaring him a lot.

"Nothing is wrong if it's for success."

"I'll sue you."

"Go ahead, you don't any evidence to prove though."

"I know you are a devil but you are more than that."

"Don't worry Kook, I'm only good for you"She touched the other's cheeks. Her evil smile scared the other more.

he walked out slamming the door.

He felt he might collapse at any time.

His phone vibrated with a remainder.

- wake up, Airport time 7:00 am. -

He realized he didn't sleep. It's 5 am now.

He thought of the concert, but his mind is not stable to handle the performance. He cried again for his weak mind. He knows if he performs, he'll mess up at any time.

He doesn't wanna look pathetic in front of his fans. So he decided to cancel the concert.

He sent a message to his manager and other staff that he can't attend the concert.

They yelled at him in the phone and explained that he'll lose many fans if he miss the chance. Jungkook tried to convey how exhausted and heartbroken he is.

Then he rushed to the label and told his PD his reasons.He also said that he wants to break up with Aecha.

They were all shocked after hearing him. This can cause a huge loss to their agency and idol.

Then they had meeting with the staffs.

after convincing all the staff, they realized Jungkook's side and decided to give him some rest. They postponed the concert next month but they won't announce the breakup as he'll be hated more. They advised him to make up with her if it's not serious.

He was sad when they denied the break-up. But relieved when they accepted to postpone the concert.

As soon as he arrived at their house, he packed his essentials.He asked his staff to arrange a suite for now.

"Kook where are you going?"

"None of your business."

"Oops, I heard they said to make up with me. Why can't you do that?"

"In your dreams "

She chuckled and Jungkook left controlling his anger. He knew it's not time to fight.

He is too tired to deal with her. He smiled weakly thinking he deserves that. He should cut her from his life to avoid trouble.

After settling down at the suite, he opened Twitter to see his fan’s response to the sudden decision. running his free hand through his brown locks, he read all the news about him carefully.

He sighed after reading those mixed reactions. The news spread quickly.

He posted a picture of his studio for his fans,

He yeeted his phone on the couch. Headache accompanied him and rubbed his temple out of frustration.

"I want to apologize to Hoseok hyung. I wonder how Taehyung is doing now"

With these thoughts lingering in his mind, sleep engulfed him, and slept on the couch after sobbing for an hour.

This only leads to a disaster 😐
