~twenty five~

"gerard.. why did you call him ? out of all people ?" frank whispered, standing awkwardly behind him.

"who the fuck was i supposed to call? everyone's-"

"boys, coffee's ready." doctor verne called from his kitchen. the boys walked into the kitchen, grabbing cups and sitting down.

"where have you guys been? gerard, you're marked as missing. you are too, frank." doctor verne said in a serious tone, clasping his hands.

gerard sat silently, staring off into the distance. frank sighed before speaking up.

"he-he kept telling me that something was happening, the "people" were telling him to get out as soon as he could. and i don't know what he meant, but i went with him. and... i don't know." frank sighed, clutching onto the coffee.

"good lord, gerard, do you know what's happened ?" doctor verne looked over at him worryingly. gerard just shook his head no and took a sip.

"it's hard saying this.. but.. everyone, they're all dead. your mom, mikey, your dad. they were all found just murdered."

gerard let that sink in for a while, trying to think of how to take it. it then hit him. he had no one. frank wasn't even in it with him. he had him held hostage. he actually had nobody.

"i killed them." he blurted out, clutching the coffee mug.

"wh-what?" doctor verne's attitude immediately snapped, eyes growing wide and tense.

"i killed all of them. after i killed brendon, i drove ryan to kill himself. i tortured awsten before eventually killing him. i killed mom and mikey, then dad and some other guys. i can show you all of it." he made eye contact with doctor verne, shaking as he spoke.

frank broke down in tears, hiding his face.

"gerard, wh-why?" doctor verne choked out.

"call them." gerard demanded, putting his hands under the table.

"call who?" doctor verne asked, getting emotional.

"the police. turn me in. i'll tell them everything. please. just fucking call them." gerard practically begged. doctor verne sighed before walking into the other room.

"frank," gerard whispered, staring straight forward.

"y-yea?" he choked out, leaning up to gerard.

"i-i'm sorry... for-"

"gerard, stop it." frank cut him off abruptly, watching him get tense before shaking it off.

there was an awkward silence between the two. you could faintly hear doctor verne talking in another room, mostly just muffled noises though.

frank sighed and scooted closer towards gerard, laying his head in the crook of gerard's neck. gerard sat there for a while, trying to figure out just what frank was trying to do. but then he finally gave in, wrapping his arm around him and keeping him close.

at that moment, gerard felt something. not just frank's warmth radiating off onto him. he felt something inside, nothing he had ever felt before. his face got hot and the hairs on the back of his neck stood up at this sudden feeling.

gerard didn't know what it was. for as long as he could remember, he had been immune to a quantity of feelings. not that he couldn't feel anything, in terms. it took him by shock, feeling something as powerful and forlorn at the same time.

a wave of emotions flowed over him, all at once. overwhelming feelings, filling up his lungs and letting him choke on them. some emotions were things he hadn't felt ever before, even before certain incidents.

frank nuzzled in closer, gripping onto gerard's hand. gerard got tingles just from that. his feelings for frank were never this passionate. gerard only found himself attracted to the sensual things of frank, but this time was different.

gerard saw a whole new perspective of the boy. he started thinking back to the first day he came to this shithole of a town. he was small and fragile, scared and alone. gerard wanted him out as soon as possible, seeing him as too innocent to cope with a place like this.

at first, frank accepted him. they hadn't talked before, but frank didn't have a problem with him. everyone else in the school hated him, but frank had a little bit of respect. but, then again, what are you supposed to do on your first day? be nice to everyone. accept people. and that's just what frank did.

then the day came, something gerard now regretted. thinking back, frank hadn't done something to deserve this. he just wanted some friends and to start over, now with hope. but gerard had crushed his dreams, trying to get him out before it was too late.

but now, it was too late. gerard had killed off any sort of relationship between him and the boy, or what he thought. frank was now scared of him. his initial plan had worked, but it took a turn for the worst now.

gerard soon found himself stuck in a hole, wanting frank all to himself. but, awsten was preventing it. he didn't want frank getting hurt. looking back at it, awsten was only trying to protect frank. and gerard now knew, he was a danger to society.

he said he could contain himself, but he couldn't. after going on a mass killing spree, only to take his anger out, he had no self control. but the important part was, the only reason he had did these acts was for frank. he craved frank with all of his little to no life.

but it was never a good reason to do it. killing nearly all of frank's close friends just to try and get him to himself. gerard knew he should have just confessed to him like a normal person was. but he was far from being normal. he was extremely insane, and he wanted things his way. if he didn't get his way, it always took a turn for the worst.

in the end, he did get what he wanted. but this wasn't the right way. keeping him hostage and forcing him to provide affection wasn't the way he wanted. he wanted frank to truly feel something for him, from deep down wherever affectionate feelings start.

gerard's thoughts were interrupted by the whirring police sirens, getting louder and louder by the second. gerard could feel warm tears emerging from frank's eyes to gerard's neck. gerard squeezed frank's hand, watching frank sit up quickly.

gerard looked down at teary eyed frank, still grabbing his hand. he still had those damn skeleton gloves on. maybe there was something really important aboutthem to him, who knows. thats his own secret.

frank grabbed gerard's face, kissing him. it was soft, sweet, quite intimate. like other times, gerard was just in it for the fuck. but now, he could feel the passion.

gerard sighed, pulling away. he could see the raw disappointment in frank's eyes.

there was a violent knock on the door, still hearing the loud whirring outside. gerard stood there, frozen in time. he never had seen himself in a situation like this.

"i love you, frankie." he mumbled under his breath, standing up.

frank didn't know how to react. at first, he had the face like 'did you actually just fucking say that?'. like he had never suspected such from gerard. who would?

"i love you too, gerard."

the door then burst open, following by a bunch of police officers. they were all armed, looking at the two.

"h-him." doctor verne came out of nowhere, pointing towards gerard.

as the officers rushed towards gerard, doctor verne pulled frank away, hiding his face.

and with that, gerard was gone.
