-twenty three-

gerard heard the door open and close quickly. suspecting it had been frank, he came out from behind the building and walked to the door. he then walked in quietly, watching frank cower under him in fear. his fear then faded away before pulling gerard into a tight hug.

"thank god you're okay, everyone's worried sick." frank mumbled into gerard's shoulder, holding back sobs. gerard said nothing, standing there.

"awsten- he said he was here." frank let go of him, looking around.

"you don't wanna see him." gerard insisted, stepping back.

"what happened to him? is he okay?" frank asked, grabbing gerard by the arms.

"come on." gerard rolled his eyes, dragging frank by the arm around the place. during the short walk, frank finally realized what had happened. he saw the blood spattered everywhere, tons of weaponry, and only to see gerard's hands stained with blood. frank pulled back, standing in place.

"fine, i'll be back." gerard said and walked off.

frank wanted to run out as soon as possible, only to realize he was trapped.

"here's what's left," gerard smiled, sliding a pot across the floor towards frank. he gagged looking at the horrendous sight, seeing remains of awsten. his teeth, his hands, bits of his skin, and at least a quart of blood.

"i have you now. there's nothing to worry about. just you and i, like we both always wanted. remember, frankie?" he smirked, pinning frank's wrists down on the ground.

"you killed him." frank thought out loud, utterly shocked.

"i had to. brendon threatened to tell, so he had to go. and my brother and mom are out of the picture. it'll be ok." he chuckled, just rethinking everything in the past 4 days.

"you killed him... to get to me." frank couldn't believe it.

"exactly." gerard leaned closer to frank, grabbing both his thighs.

"gerard, i- i..." frank stuttered, watching gerard inch closer and closer by the second.

"forget about them. we can hideout as long as we want." gerard scoffed, nose nearly touching with frank's.

"what about the boys?" frank asked, scooting back.

"they'll forget. everyone does." gerard sighed, sitting back down into a comfortable position.

"no they won't.. they're gonna be worried sick!" frank got even more nervous, resting his hands in his lap.

"you care too fucking much, frankie. so uptight, thinking everyone cares. they don't! they're just not trying to be straight up assholes. which i don't see the problem with that. you're just too goddamn sensitive, going to others with your problems."

"i'm not that fucking sensitive!"

"yea right, remember when we went to doctor verne's and you were over there just sobbing?"

"hey, you're the one who tried to fucking murder me!"

"for the last time, I DIDNT TRY TO KILL YOU."

"then what was your point of doing that, jackass!?"

"we've been over this too much. you needed to know how much of a shit place that school is. and now you do. i have you all to myself now, so helpless and needy. my plan succeeded, and i could never ask for more."

"you crazy bitch!"

frank didn't know what else to do with this. he then kicked gerard in the face, causing him to fly back onto the concrete. gerard sat there for a second, trying to recollect. during the meantime, frank ran over to a table, grabbing a gun and pointing it at gerard.

"what are you gonna get out of shooting me?" gerard asked, sitting up. his nose was practically shooting blood but he could care less.

"if you kill me right here, right now, think of what's gonna happen. they'll suspect you for the murders. if not, there will be no justice for ryan's family, brendon's, or awsten's. you get absolutely nothing."

frank paused. gerard had a point. but then again, it was gerard.

"hmm, let's make a deal. if you put the gun down, i'll suck your dick." gerard smirked, cocking a brow up at him.

"wh-what?!" frank's hands shook violently, still keeping ahold of the gun.

"oh come on, we can have just a little fun. we all die. it's just a matter of time, i suppose we could use it... to our advantage." gerard smirked, shifting his position.

"no, you killed him!" frank yelled, hands still shaking vigorously.

"whatever, admit at those times we were making out, you would've let me fucked you right there, right?" gerard asked, smiling wickedly.

"n-no, that was on s-school grounds." frank stuttered.

"what if we were alone? at my house, wouldn't you have let me in a scenario like that?" gerard was not gonna take no for an answer.

"what- why are we talking about this?" frank asked.

"frankie, just drop the goddamn gun, it's not even loaded." he scoffed, looking off to the side.

frank eyed gerard for a moment. he then tried seeing if the gun really was loaded. he couldn't get the chance before gerard had kicked the gun out of his hand in a swift motion. gerard grabbed it and sat up, smiling again.

gerard got ahold of frank, throwing him down to the ground. a loud thud of his body echoed around the room. gerard held frank down on the ground, putting his foot on his chest.

not too far away sat the bat from a while ago. he grabbed it, still keeping frank down. he threw the gun behind him before beginning to beat frank. he somehow got more satisfaction out of him rather than awsten. maybe it was being able to hear his reaction, maybe it was his way of squirming and writhing around, maybe it was just frank.

he eventually passed out, laying unconscious. bloody and bruised, gerard dragged him around and tied him up. throwing him back in a corner, he packed his bags, knowing he would have to go somewhere else if he didn't want to get caught. awsten would stay here, locked up and out of society's sight.

gerard had to figure out where he could stay. his house wasn't a great option, due to investigators being there daily. he was also marked as a missing person which didn't help.

an idea came along, making gerard smile more than he ever had before. he grabbed his notebook from his pocket, turning to a new page. he started creating a diagram, who his victims were. he still didn't know what he could do with the rest of the boys, but gerard was smarter than that. it would be too much work right now for something that complicated. with everyone in a state of emotional breakdowns and losing loved ones, nobody could do anything. gerard knew something cruel, yet most likely the best idea he could ever come up with. the last on his list.

his dad.
