I looked over at Joshua as he stared aimlessly out the car window in the hospital parking lot."Give me your hand."He ran his hands down his face.I knew he was crying.Jonsey and Josh had a special type of bond that was uncanny, unspoken, unworldly and unbreakable.His eyes were red and he couldn't look me in my face.I didn't need him to.I seen the innocence and fear in Joshua's face.When you grew up the way Joshua did with no love from your mother what's so ever and no one to teach you how to be a man because God took one of his soldiers back, how?How do you cope with the pain.That wasn't something any of us had the answers to at this point and to be honest, it was to be unanswered for a reason.He didn't have to be strong, I was strong enough for the both of us right now.He could cry all he needed, I would be right here to stay..Forget what anyone outside of this thought, let it out..It's okay.

He looked up at me and caressed my chin with eyes that tried it's hardest but just couldn't quite mask those tears.They streamed like rivers."It's not easy to be venerable Joshua.Especially for you and I know that..Be that with me."

He gave me a slight smile through his tears and kissed my cheeked.I took the keys from the stirring wheel and got out from the passenger side going around to the driver's side.I opened his door holding out my hand.."You ready, he needs you."He looked up at me nodding his head yes.He took my hand and got out closing the car door behind him.I walked through those doors with Joshua by my side with my head held high.I walked right up to the information desk of the Emergency Room.

"Yes ma'am how can I help you?"The lady said not looking up from her phone.

"Yes can you give me the floor and room number for patient Eric Jones?"

"Yeah hold on."She continued to text on her phone.Joshua was out of it.And I was getting irritated with this woman by the second.She finally got on the computer after she took her sweet time."Uh huh, so yeah I've been told not to give out any information on Mr. Jones at this moment so you'll have to check back in.."

I slammed my father's old badge on the counter."Let's go about this on a different kind approach cause you're not understanding. You see this badge? That means I'm capable of doing shit like making sure you don't have any warrants..Let's see if you can adjust who told you what for the moment!"I could feel Joshua's eyes burning in my skin, I just ignored it.It's been a long day and I honestly didn't have time for the dumb shit.

I nodded."Thank You."I gripped Joshua's hand as we made our way through the double doors.We made it on our way to room 312 and stud in front of it.I turned his way and held his face."Hey."His eyes met mine."Now's the time to be strong, he's gonna pull through..Let him hear your voice and feel your presence, you got this."

"You comin' too?"

He took a deep breath and got himself together making his way into the room.I stood against the wall praying for the best.About 5 minutes later I seen Taylor and Quan come around the corner..She came up to me.We hugged for so long..She pulled back on me..She looked at my wrist seeing the blood splatters that I didn't even notice at first.She squinted her eyes."You okay?"I nodded.

"He in there?"Quan said nodding at me then the room where Jonsey lie.

"Yup."

"Ight I'ma go speak."He said kissing Taylor and going in the room.

Taylor waited for the door to shut.She grabbed my arm pulling me in the closest restroom.She turned on the sink cleaning the blood off of me real good than stuffing everything in her purse.She watched my eyes and without me having to say it she pulled me in.."It's okay boo, I'm here."

I let it all out."Taylor I've never did no shit like this before."

"Hold up!"She said flushing the toilet..She went back out like she was on a mission.I followed behind her crazy ass.She went to the nearest lobby.There was a middle aged white man sitting there.."Excuse ME!?"She said waving her hands dramatically as he looked up from his news paper.."Did you see someone trying to get in the bathroom?!"

"It was probably my grandmother, her bladder has been quite thin lately.."

I stepped in the room.My nigga had so many tubes in him and I swear I ain't never been this broken or fucked up.I took too many losses in life.Seeing Jones like this wasn't apart of the plans.I sat down by his side and looked up seeing Quan walk in.I remained watching Jonesy."He ain't deserve this shit Q!"I looked away from Jonsey and up at Quan.."I took his life and that ain't help shit.My nigga Jonesy still laid out.He got a family Q."I put my head down in my hands.."FUCK!"
