Chapter 28

Perrie's POV

The one week break was over, I am now back at the studio to continue working on my album. I wasn't able to write any song during the break because, you know, I was away in a trip with the girls. But right now, I'm so inspired and the moment I stepped inside the studio, I grabbed the guitar with my songbook in hand and went straight to the small room. I was on a roll, words keep flowing out of my mind and into the paper. I stayed there for a long time and Jesy made sure I was undisturbed. Moments later, my phone buzzed signalling a new message. I picked up my phone to view the message. I was Jesy, saying they're heading out for lunch and asking me if I want to come with them. I typed in a reply saying that I'd like to stay here and that to order me a take-out. After receiving her 'Okay' response, I get back to work.

After half an hour, I decided to take a break. I grabbed my phone and opened my Instagram app. I snapped a photo showing my songbook and the guitar with the caption 'Back to work' and posted it. I just thought I give a little hint for my fans to guess that I'm working on my next album. When I'm done with Instagram, I switched to Twitter and then started scrolling through my feed. And then one tweet got my attention. It's from an FM radio station and it said that Jade Thirlwall had released a song, along with a link. What? I didn't knew she was working on a song. It really surprised me. I clicked the link and stood up to get my earphones from my bag while the song is loading. When I got back, I saw that the song was called Gravity and then I pressed play.

Wow! That was really a great song. The words are so deep, like it came from something, from some strong emotion. And the music was great, not too upbeat, not to mellow, it was just right. I wondered to whom did she wrote it for. Wait! Was it for me? I mean, people would think that it's for me since to them we are dating. But, did she wrote it for me, like for real? Or just to have the media and the fans thinking that she wrote it for me? Well, I bet it was the latter. Why would she write a song for me? So I had a pull on her and she called it gravity? Nah! It wouldn't make sense. I chuckled at the thought and listen to the song again.

Hours passed, I had ate my lunch and wrote a few more verses. I decided to stop writing and continue for tomorrow since I was already exhausted. My phone started to buzz and I answered it without checking the caller ID.

"Hello." I greeted.

"Hi, Perrie?" the person said.

"Yes. Who's this?" I asked, mentally face palming myself for not checking the caller ID.

"It's me, Alex." Ohhh, right.

"Oh, hi Alex! I'm sorry, I was just working." I snickered.

"Uh, is this a good time to call?" he asked.

"Yeah, I'm finished anyway. So, why'd you call?" I questioned him.

"Uhm, nothing. I just wanna know how are you." it sounded more like a question than a statement.

"Oh, well.. I'm fine, thanks for asking. You?" I asked back.

"I'm alright." he said and I sensed a smile in his voice.

We talked for a while, just catching up. He also suggest that we hangout some time soon and I agreed. He really seems a nice guy. And it would be nice if we can get to know each other more. After a while, I went out of the room and found Jesy sitting on the couch, feet on top of the coffee table. She was scrolling on her phone and then looked up to me when I sat beside her.

"How was it? Wrote a lot?" she asked.

"Yeah, it was alright. I'm exhausted." I grunted.

"Well, I might have a solution for that. Good thing Leigh-Anne called earlier." she said, I looked at her confused.

"She's inviting us to go clubbing tonight." she said with a grin.

"Why?" I questioned, yawning.

"To celebrate Jade's new song." she said matter-of-factly.

"Oh.." was all I can say. The song.

"Have you heard it?" she asked looking at me.

"Yeah, I heard it already. It was great." I mumbled, feeling sleepy all of a sudden.

"Yes, it is." she agreed. I closed my eyes.

I feel so exhausted. Maybe Jesy's right, clubbing would be good. I think I need a drink. But right now, I should take a nap. And I hope I dream about her...

Jade's POV

It was Leigh's idea to go to a club to celebrate my new song. Although there's not much to celebrate, it's just a song. But I guess she just wanted to go clubbing and used it as a reason. Typical Leigh-Anne! We arrived first, Leigh said we'll be meeting Jesy and Perrie here. She led me to a booth on the far side of the club, I guess because it's nearer the bar and the dance floor. Again, typical Leigh-Anne. I sat on the couch, waiting patiently as she get us some drinks. I looked around, trying to find some familiar faces, until I found two. Jesy and Perrie walking towards our booth, my eyes locked on the blue ones. Perrie looked great, as always. She's wearing a white crop top, high waisted denim shorts and sandals. And again, too much skin. As for me, I'm wearing a plain t-shirt, leather jacket, jeans and boots. Typical Jade!

Minutes later, we're partying. Leigh-Anne and Jesy, have already owned the dance floor. I drank a few but I need stay sober because I have to drive. Perrie managed to drag me to the dance floor and we danced for a while.

"Hey, I have a question!" she shouted through the loud music while grinding on me.

"What?" I cocked my head to the side and showed her my ear.

"Did you...wrote that- for me? the song...for me?" she asked. I instantly stiffen. Did she got the message? Oh no!

"I-I uh.." I'm lost, I don't know what to say. Yes, the song is for her.

"It's alright, Jadey! I liked the song." she turned around to face me and beamed a wide smile.

"You do?" I asked. She liked it! Oh man.

"Yes, Jadey." she whispered to my ear.

I can't stop the smile forming on my face with the fact that she liked my song for her. But mostly because of how she's saying my name right now. My eyes moved from her eyes to her lips. And man, I wanted to kiss her there and then. But stopped myself. I saw her smirked before turning around and continue to dance with me.

After an hour or so, and a few more drinks, we decided to call it a night. I insisted on driving Perrie home. I managed to get the 'slightly' wasted blondie, as what she said, into my car's passenger seat and as I sat down on the driver's side, she spoke.

"Your place." she said.

"What?" I asked, not sure if I heard her correctly.

"Let's go to your place." she repeated.

"Why not yours?" I looked at her confused.

"I left my keys at the studio." she said, eyes closed. I just nodded and drove off.
