Chapter 18 (Jayson's POV)

We had won 115-90. It was touch and go for a minute till the 4th quarter then me and my teammates had went off. I had 44 points total and my teammates Jay Brown and Marcus Smart combined for 44 themselves. And our bench really stepped up when Rob had twisted his ankle late in the third. But the trainer said he would be fine. It was just a tweak and he would be fine in a few days if he just kept icing it. I was even more happy though because the 76ers had lost so that meant we were the first seed and would get a week to rest before playoffs started. I clapped it up with my teammates while the crowd in the stadium celebrated because we were going to the playoffs again. I saw Duce running towards me and I picked him and gave him a big kiss while people recorded us. We played around while they prepared me for after game interviews and he sat on my lap while I talked to the ESPN announcers.

"So Jay, how does it feel to be first seed and going to the playoffs again?" They asked me

"Uh it feels great, I know I couldn't be here without my coach and teammates, the city of Boston, and my family. I mean it feels good to come in the playoffs 1 seed, but we not done yet, we still got a long way to go if we want that 18th Banner, but I believe we can do it"

"Well we're glad to hear that and 44 points tonight is incredible, you've been averaging almost 30 points all regular season, how do you think you were able to pull that off?"

"Uh just always working in the gym and at practice and my teammates trusting me with the ball letting me take the shots we know I can make. And I've just been in the right headspace lately, really focused on uplifting my team in ways I can and focused on our goal"

"And you think Duce has anything to say?"

He was shy sometimes in front of the camera but somehow I got him to speak into the Mic

"Go Celtics!" he said in his small voice which got a laugh out of the announcers

"Well thank you Jayson and Duce, you all enjoy your night and good luck on the playoffs"

"Thank you" I said with a smile and I took off the headset holding Duce up in the air giving him one more hug and kiss before letting him run back to his mom. Tory had finally showed up way late in the 4th when the game was almost over which kinda had me pissed because Duce really wanted to spend time with her today. But I saw how much fun he was having with Indi and my family so I wasn't gonna let it affect me. Tory was going out of town tonight, so she couldn't take Duce with her tonight, but my cousin agreed to watch Duce after I put him to bed so I could go celebrate with my teammates at this local lounge. I looked over to make sure Duce made it to his mom cause sometimes he was a roadrunner and saw Indi smiling at me. I guess she had been watching me this whole time and I was glad she was here. I flashed her a smile and waved and she gave a thumbs up while mouthing, "good job. I'm proud of you" . I gave her a wink which made her blush but got a look from Tory who was standing beside her. But I ain't care I wasn't looking for Tory anymore, I had tried to make it work with her several times but it just wouldn't click with us anymore but with Indi it did. I went ahead to the locker room and showered and changed while I got ready for post game interviews. I hoped it wouldn't take long cause we were all ready to go out and celebrate, nothing too crazy but Brown had got a section at this lounge called NorthGate central which was a dope spot I had been to a few times. I already knew I wanted Indi to come with me and I would invite her when I got back to her and my family.

While I was putting up my stuff, I got a text from Tory.

 I rolled my eyes, she couldn't even stay to put him to bed at least and Indi wasn't nun of her business. But whatever, I just texted her back and locked my phone. I was getting a bunch of tags and posts about me and texts and calls. I only answered and responded to a few and would respond later to the other ones. It was about 10:30 when I finally got out of the locker room and walked to the player entrance. My cousin was there waiting for me along with Indi, holding Duce while he was sound asleep on her shoulder. The sight of Indi holding him did something to my heart. I couldn't help but smile as I walked over to them and gave Duce a kiss on his forehead.

"He knocked out huh?"

"Lol yeah he got tired like 15 mins ago and your mom and boyfriend and your cousin Greg had already left so I took him off their hands while me and your cousin waited for you."

"Thank you I really appreciate that Indi, and I'm really glad you came"

"I'm really glad I came too Jay"

We looked into each other's eyes for a min, I wanted to kiss her so bad right now. But I was interrupted by my cousin who did a fake cough breaking my attention off Indi.

"Jay we should go ahead and take Duce home, so he can go to bed, your mom and Tory left what he needed with me so we good"

"Yeah you're right Tina, but um Indi me and a couple teammates are going to celebrate in a few, I was wondering if you would wanna join me? We're going to NorthGate Central"

"Oh I heard that place is lit, I haven't been yet because it's hard to get into sometimes" Indi said

"Yeah but my boy Brown got a section and you should come with me and you can bring a friend if you want if that would make you feel more comfortable."

"Uh sure Jay, I'm sure my friend Gem would like to come. I would just have to go home and change."

"Alright cool well I can just pick you up after I take Duce home and change just send me your addy"

I took Duce from her and made sure she got to her car safely and waved to her as me and my cousin headed to my car to take Duce home. He was still sound asleep and would still be that way for most of the night. We got situated and as we drove off Tina spoke.

"You really like Indigo don't you?"

"What you mean?"

"Boy don't play dumb, I saw the way you looked at her."

"I mean okay, I do like her. I'm trying to keep it lowkey though cause I don't want the public in our business. But is it that obvious I do?"

"Not that obvious to those who aren't paying attention but I just say be careful Jay, I don't want you or her to get hurt"

"Yeah I know thanks for looking out for me cuz."

We pulled up to my house and I put Duce to bed after telling him goodnight and I went to take another shower and change. My stylist had sent me two outfits one for game day and after if we had won. It was some black dolce gabbana jeans and a matching black and white top with some custom jordans with my number on the back . I put just a few of my chains on and a watch and decided to wear one of my custom made hats with my number on it in black and white. My teammate Brown texted me letting me know they were there already and I told them I was on the way. Indi had sent me her address and let me know her friend Gem was coming as well. I got my stuff and headed out the door. I decided to take one of my other cars today and got my mustang out of the garage and pulled up the directions on the way to Indi's apartment. The night was nice and I was feeling good so I let the sunroof back and put on some Drake. 'Way 2 Sexy' came on and I couldn't help but record myself rapping to the song at the red light and posting it on my IG story. Getting a few responses quickly, girls and guys being thirsty, people I know hyping me up etc. I just responded to a few , not the people being thirsty but a few who had reposted me that were my day ones. I pulled up to Indi's apartment quickly and let her know I was outside. She said okay and was coming down with Gem. I saw her walk down the steps outside and my jaw hit the floor. This girl was looking fine as fuck. She had on a two piece baby blue skirt set that hugged her in all the right places and some clear heels that sparkled under the light. She had redid her hair and had made her bangs more neat but it was like a curly halo surrounded her head. She had also done her makeup more from earlier and had her face beat. I couldn't stop staring at her as she and her friend Gem walked down the steps. The way Gem looked I could tell she would be perfect for my teammate Marcus, she had on a skintight black bodycon dress that was cut out around her stomach and some shiny black heels and had  locs in her head that went all the way down to her butt. They both looked good but Indi had my heart doing flips. I got out of my car and opened the door for them cause that's just the gentleman I am. "You look good, like good as fuck really" I said to Indi as I held the door open for her.

That made her giggle. "Thank you, you look good too Jay. Jay this is my friend Gem, Gem this is Jay"

"Hi It's nice to meet you Gem, let me get the door for you"

"Oh shit you fine and a gentleman, you got any friends like you?" she asked me as they slide into the car

"Lol I mean I have a few, I was just thinking you and my teammate Marucs would get along perfectly"

"Well let's go then so I can meet him Jay. I'm ready to shake some ass" she said

Me and Indi laughed at that and pulled off from her place.

"Your friend a trip" I told Indi as we drove towards the club listening to Drake bopping to the beat

"Haha I know but she don't mean no harm"

"I feel that but Indi you really do look good, I haven't seen you dressed up like this before" looking over at her scanning her body up and down. She saw how I was looking at her which made her blush.

"Thank you. And yeah since I'm at work most of the time we see each other I don't really wear these types of clothes, I don't really go out that often anyway."

"Well tonights gonna be different. Imma make sure you have a good time" I told her with a wink. I was feeling myself after our win today and feeling bold. Her friend Gem couldn't really see up front. So I slowly slid my right hand over to the inside of Indi's thigh and rubbed it gently. I could tell she liked that cause she bit her lip and made a muffled mhump sound. I continued rubbing her legs clearly seeing she was enjoying it. I was about to slide my hand up even further when my GPS had told us we had arrived. I was kinda upset our lil moment had ended but I knew we would have time for that later. I already knew I was gonna have a hard time keeping my hands off her tonight but we would just see how the night went as we stepped out the car.
