Chapter 14 (Indi's POV)

I was a little frustrated when Jayson got that call interrupting us but I saw on the screen it was his babymama so I couldn't be that upset, given it was Duce's mother. But the deny of relief had my body frustrated for sure. Last night was so good and I wanted more. I laid back on the bed grinning from ear to ear thinking about last night and I felt a sense of calm from Jayson's reassurance. I'm sure things would work out and this relationship would work if just given a chance. I was still a lil hesitant but JT seemed to want it just as bad so I would just go with the flow for now and keep this lowkey cause who knows what would happen if this got out to the public. I didn't want to think about that though and just focus on the moment I was in right now. I mean I was in this dude bed and I never thought I'd be fooling around with Jayson Tatum it was crazy right? A buzz from my phone interrupted my thoughts, I got a text from my sister asking me where I was last night and letting me know she was leaving to go on her trip with her boyfriend and would be back in two weeks. I told her okay and lied saying I spent the night at Gem's house cause I was too tired to drive back. I couldn't tell her where I really was of course cause me and Jay promised to just keep this between us for now. I checked some of my emails and other text messages. Even though it was Saturday, I still had a few things to check and work on cause I was doing a community art project for our outreach program on Monday and I had to get ready. I was on my phone for a while when I noticed Jay still hadn't come back. I called for him upstairs but didn't get a response. I headed downstairs and heard him still talking on the phone in the kitchen.

"Well, what time can you come?" he asked. He sounded a bit angry so I hung back before heading in there. "Well you know that's not fair to Duce, he needs you. Can you please just come on time for once, please" Jayson said, sounding exasperated. Clearly he was having issues with Tory but it wasn't none of my business. I heard him say goodbye and hang up the phone and I walked in the kitchen. He was standing there in some black Nike shorts and no shirt, his tattoos looking good asf. I couldn't help but look him up and down. But when I saw the expression on his face I became concerned. He looked upset for real.

"Is everything okay Jay?" I said as I rubbed on his back and shoulders.

"Yeah I'm good, me and Tory just been having a lot of miscommunication lately so the responsibility of Duce has been falling on me more. Like we're both his parents so we should both be there for him but it's whatever you know." He turned around to me and wrapped me in his arms. "It's nothing you have to worry about but I appreciate your concern." giving me a light kiss after saying that. "But are you hungry I can whip us up something for breakfast before I have to get ready"

"Boy you don't know how to cook, watch out I got it" I said playfully slapping him in the chest

"Girl what you mean, they call me chef homeboyardee around here, Moms taught me everything I needed to know '' he said with a deep laugh. "I can definitely whip us up something"

"Okay Jay but if you burn the kitchen down don't say I didn't warn you"

"Don't worry Ma I got it, imma make sure you eat good, and then maybe later I can eat you." he said with a wink that made me bite my lip. He knew he had me and turned around with a laugh at my expression knowing he had turned me on just that quick. I went and sat down and watched this fine ass man get to work in the kitchen.
