Chapter 112

21:51, 1 May 2020

Within a matter of a couple of hours, all the guys were back at the club house and gathered around the table waiting for Juice to tell them what he found on Ian McPhee. The tension was thick into her room as the guys waited. Each of them wanted a piece of this guy but more importantly, they wanted to know why he had bombed the office.

"So what do we know?" Asked Clay.

"For starters, Ian McPhee is an alias. When I was digging, I couldn't find anything about him from before 1999. Dude just appeared out of nowhere. So I started searching yearbooks and school records for the area looking for guys who resembled McPhee that looked to be about the same age. By pure luck, I found our guy in one of the yearbooks. His real name is Declan O'Connor. Grew up in Sligo. Mom was a single mother who worked odd jobs to support them. Dad wasn't in the picture. From what I've been able to find the kid didnt have an ideal childhood. No friends and looks to have been severely bullied. Ended up falling in with a gang and selling drugs. Well, when Declan turned 18, he changed his name and he left Sligo and moved to Belfast. While he was there, he became friends with some of the local gangsters. The group he's been linked to does odd jobs for the IRA." Said Juice.

"So how does that tie into us?" Said Clay.

"I'm not sure. Maybe some the Irish Kings got to him and hired him. Maybe Jimmy is behind all of this. It's really anyone's guess right now." Said Juice.

"So basically we need to go have a word with this son of a bitch" said Jax.

"Who's up for a ride?" Asked Clay.

The whole table gave a resounding "absolutely".

Within minutes, everyone was on their bikes and headed for the address where Ian/Declan was staying.

This was going to be fun!

What am I going to do? Do I give Jax these letters?

Those were just two of the questions running though Tinsley's mind as she sat folding clothes. She knew what she should do. She knew she should give them to him but at the same time, she didn't want to hurt him. And that's what these letters would do. Jax loves his mom and Clay more than he would ever admit but Tinsley remembered the anguish in his voice when Clay was missing. She remembered how Jax was when Zobelle tried to have her and Gemma taken. It wasn't a time she liked to think about.

She really did find herself between a rock and hard place.

What am I going to do?

As Tinsley was putting away the laundry she had just folded, her cell began playing Amazed by Lonestar. She didn't have to check the ID to know it was Jax. Taking a deep breath to calm her nerves, she answered the call hoping she didn't sound as shaky as she felt.

"Hey baby" said Tinsley.

"Hey. I just wanted to give you a heads up that it will probably be late when I get home tonight." Said Jax.

"Ooookkkayyyyy" said Tinsley.

"How are the kids?" Said Jax.

"They're fine. I was just putting away some laundry" said Tinsley.

"Ok. Well I'll call you when I'm on the way home. Love you" said Jax

"Love you too" said Tinsley.

"I'll be home soon" said Jax.

"We'll be here" said Tinsley.

"Ok, I gotta run. See you soon" said Jax.

"Ok, bye baby" said Tinsley.

She ended the call and tossed her phone on the bed. She wondered what Jax was up to but since he didn't say on the phone, it must have been something he didn't feel safe talking about. Cell phones were to easily hacked to discuss club business safely. She had learned that early on in their relationship.

Needing something to do, she went back downstairs and searched the cabinet for dinner ideas. Deciding to make chicken pot pie with biscuits. It was a simple dinner but one that would be filling and easy clean-up.

As she was placing the casserole in the oven, the door bell rang. Even though she figured it was just Willow, she walked to the door. Before she reached the door, she decided she needed her gun, just to be on the safe side. Going back to the kitchen, she grabbed her 9mm from the top of the refrigerator and headed for the front door to see who was knocking. As she peeped through the peep hole, she saw a flower delivery guy. The guy held a bouquet of yellow roses in front of his face allowing her to only be able to see his his uniform.

Again, the doorbell rang.

"Who is it?" Asked Tinsley.

"Daisy's Floral Delivery" said the voice on the other side of the door.

"Just leave them on the stoop" said Tinsley.

"Ma'am, I require a signature." Said the guy.

"I'm not expecting flowers. You can leave them on the stoop or carry them back to the shop. Doesn't matter to me" said Tinsley.

"I'm just trying to do my job" said the guy.

"Well, I have you your options. Take it or leave it." Said Tinsley.

As Tinsley watched the guy through the peephole, she watched as he seemed to weigh his options. He finally placed the bouquet on the stoop and walked away. Tinsley continued to watch as he got into the white van and drove away. She thought it was weird that the van didn't have the florists name in it. Maybe it was a rental.

Satisfied that it was safe to open the door, she grabbed the bouquet and looked for card.

"That's strange" said Tinsley to herself when she didn't find a card. Who would be sending me flowers?Would Jax have sent them? No, the answer to that question was no. If Jax has sent flowers he would have most definitely included a card.

Tinsley took the flowers into the kitchen, grabbing a glass vase from the cabinet. She placed them on the center of the dining room table. Even though she didn't know where they come from and it was a little creepy to get flowers from someone not knowing other cans from, she couldn't just throw them in the trash. They were too beautiful for that.

Jax and the guys we're standing outside of Ian/Declan's door getting ready to breach the door when they heard movement from behind them. Jax sounds around quickly just barely catching Ian/Declan running back down the stairs.

"Get him" yelled Jax as he took off running.

All the guys took off after Ian/Declan but he managed to get away before they could get to him. The guys climbed on their bikes and chased him, weaving in and out of traffic. It didn't take long before Ian started firing at them.

The guys continued to chase and returned fire. Just as they were gaining ground, a car switched lanes without signaling, effectively cutting Clay off. He tried to get out of the way but cars tire caught his back one causing him to lose control.

Even though Jax was worried about Clay, he couldn't let this guy get away. He had tried to kill him and harm his loved ones. For that, he was going to pay.

Continuing to weave in and out of traffic, Jax slowly began gaining ground in Ian/Declan.

Just as Jax was about to pull along side him, Ian/Declan turned into a parking lot so fast that he nearly took out a lady pushing a stroller.

Jax jumped the curb, taking out a few hedges in the process but caught up to Ian/Declan. Jax dove, wrapping his arms around the guys legs and brought him to the ground. Jax then climbed on top of him and punched him one good shot to the jaw. He had knocked the guy out cold.

Digging his phone out of his pocket, he called the guys and told them he had Ian/Declan and asked about Clay.

With in minutes, the guys arrived with Piney one the van to carry this guy back to the club house. They needed to question this guy and find out why he was after them and who hired him.
