Chapter 33

19:27, 24 February 2020

THREE MONTHS LATER

Tinsley and Jax have waiting for this day for some time now. Today's the day they find out if they are having a boy or a girl. Tinsley suffered through morning sickness for a few weeks before it finally settled down. The morning sickness had caused her to lose some weight but not enough that the doctors were concerned.

Tinsley was getting dressed for her doctor appointment when Jax yelled from the bottom of the steps.

"You bout ready babe" said Jax.

"Be down in a minute" said Tinsley.

She was getting dressed and trying to find something that fit was becoming a pain in the ass. None of her jeans fit right, all her shirts were now crop tops even if they weren't meant to be. She was only 18 weeks but was measuring at 25. The bump had become noticeable early on. Everyone kept telling her so get some dresses but she wasn't a dress kind of girl. In fact, the last time she had worn was was when she went to her senior prom in high school. She wasn't planning on wearing a dress again until the day she got married.

She decided on a pair of jeans and one of Jax's T-shirt. Since the shirt was longer than anything she owned, she could leave the button to her jeans undone. She needed to order a maturity band if she wanted to continue wearing her clothes and she needed to get some maturity tops or something. Jax's SAMCRO t-shirts were fine but when she wanted to dress up, she needed to have some cute clothes to wear.

After she was done getting dressed -which was a feat in itself lately- she headed downstairs. Jax was sitting in the living room playing with Abel in the floor. Abel was starting to hit up by himself. She thought he was the cutest little thing when he wobbled around like weebles. In fact, she sang the said in her head every time he started to wobble.

Jax had been a big help with Abel lately. She watched the two of them bond daily and it melted her heart. The love she saw in Jax's eyes for Abel was I like anything she had even seen before. She knew what he was feeling though because he felt the same way when it came to Abel. This little guy had come into her life like a hurricane and had changed the way she thought about everything. She wouldn't change a thing about him other than her legally being his mom. Tinsley and Jax has talked about getting papers for her to legally adopt Abel but hadn't got around to do it yet.

As she walked further into the room, Abel saw her and he held his arms up wanting her to pick him up. She babbled in his baby talk which she thought it was the cutest thing. As she bent over to pick him up, he laughed and gave her the biggest, purest smile. It was the kind of smile that only kids had.. the ones they have before life's trials and tribulations wipe away their innocence.

"There's mommy" said Jax standing up as she picked up Abel.

"You miss me baby boy?" Asked Tinsley as she kissed Abel's forehead and began to tickle him

Abel loved to be tickled. Jax hugged them both to his as Tinsley began to tickle Abe more and more just to hear his laugh. Jax kissed Tinsley and kissed Abel on the head and just held each other for a minute.

The last few weeks had been tough on Jax. He had been working nonstop with the club, at TM, and at home. He wanted to be involved in every aspect of Abel's life and Tinsley was happy that was the case. He was going to be a good dad it he didn't kill himself working first. Things were off between the guys at the club since Opie's death plus Jax was still trying to process all that had happened. To say he was stressed was an understatement.

After a few minutes, Jax took Abel from Tinsley and put him in his car seat throwing a blanket over the top. Tinsley put on her coat and grabbed the diaper bag and they headed to the Tahoe locking the house up on the way out.

January in northern California was cold. Colder that what she expected. She didn't know why she thought it never got cold in California but she was wrong. Today, there was high of 42 degrees forecasted for a high. She had to give it to Jax, he rode his bike everywhere, even if he had to to wear multiple layers. In fact, today, he was riding his bike to her doctors appointment even though it was colder than a witch's titty in a brass bra.

Jax snapped Abel into the base while Tinsley climbed into the Tahoe. Starting it up and getting the heat going, she plugged her phones USB up so that she could listen to Spotify on the ride. Abel liked to listen to music while he as in the car.

Jax came round to the drivers side and kissed Tinsley before climbing on his bike and following her to Saint Thomas to meet with Dr. Greene.

At the doctors office, Dr. Greene did his usual exam and then led them to the room to do the ultrasound. Jax sat in the chair holding Abel while Tinsley laid on the bed. Tinsley was extremely nervous. She was scared that the babies would have the same heart defect that ran in Jax's family. She had found out that even he had it but it wasn't as severe as his brothers or his mothers had been.

"You guys ready?" asked Dr. Greene.

"Yes" they both said.

Dr. Green lifted Tinsleys shirt up to just below her breast and smeared the ultrasound jelly on her belly. He ran the tool over her belly in search of the baby.

"Hmmm" said Dr. Greene.

"What? What's wrong" asked Tinsley. Worry immediately threatening to overtake her.

Jax scooted his chair closer to Tinsley to hold her hand in case the doctor had bad news.

"Nothings wrong, other than our assumption that this was a single pregnancy. There seems to be more than one heartbeat" said Dr Green.

"More than one?" Asked Tinsley.

"Yep, looks to be two... no three to be exact." Said Dr. Greene

"Come again" said Jax.

"There looks to be 3 heart beats. You're pregnant with triplets. That would explain why you have been measuring further along that what you are." Explained Dr. Greene.

"Why couldn't we see three heartbeats the last time we had an ultrasound?" Asked Jax.

"The babies must have new hiding behind the one we saw on the screen. They had to have been lying in a perfect line for us not to have seen this before now." Said Dr. Greene.

"Can you tell the sex of them yet" said Tinsley.

"Let's see..." said Dr. Green as he moved the tool around some more on her belly.

"Looks like Baby A is a boy, Baby B is a girl, and Baby C looks to be a girl" said Dr. Greene.

"Holy shit" Tinsley whispered.

"You can say that again" said Jax.

"All three look to be healthy and growing fine. We will need monitor you closer the further along you get. I know you had discussed having a natural birth but I don't know how that will happen. People who have triplets never make it to what is considered a normal full term of forty weeks. Full term for triplets is considered thirty-five weeks. Most patients are induced somewhere around thirty-two weeks depending on thr size of the babies." Explained Dr. Greene.

"Will they be ok? I mean being born that much earlier" Asked Tinsley.

"As long as you don't have any complications through the remaining parts of your pregnancy, there is no reason to believe that anything should go wrong. I checked all three of the baby's hearts and none seem to have the heart condition that you both were concerned about" said Dr. Greene.

"It's there anything I need to watch for" asked Tinsley.

"You know your body. If something doesn't feel right, give me a call. In the mean time, you will need to be on light bed rest. I don't mean you need to lay I the bed 24/7, but you do need to take it easy. No lifting anything more that fifteen pounds, no strenuous activity, and no smoking. I know you said you had cut back but with it being triplets, they need to gain all the weight they can. Cigarettes have proven to cause low birth weight and these little babies are gonna need all the help they can get to gain enough weight. Most triplets born weigh somewhere around 3 pounds and that's if the mother doesn't smoke. Do you get where I'm going with this?." Explained Dr. Greene.

"Yea, I get it. No more Marlboros for me" said Tinsley.

"Exactly" said the doctor.

"For either of you have any other questions?" Asked Dr. Greene.

"Can we still have sex?" Asked Jax.

Tinsley turned every shade of red that one could turn when Jax asked that question. She was an adult and obviously the doctor knew they hd been having sex being she was pregnant, but it was still embarrassing to talk about in front other other people.

"That's still fine although you will have to get creative the further along she gets." Said Dr. Greene.

And just like that, Tinsley reaches a whole new level of embarrassment. The doctor had basically just told her they were going to have to be experimental in the bedroom to find something that would work for them. Tinsley already thought they were pretty adventurous in that department but having a doctor tell her she was going to have to be even more experimental didn't make her comfortable.

"Thanks doc" said Jax.

"I'll need you to come in every two weeks form now on Tinsley." said Dr. Greene

"Sounds good. See you in two weeks" said Tinsley still trying to get her skin color back to normal.

Tinsley got dressed after the doctor left the room. After making the upcoming appointment, she and Jax loaded Abel into the Tahoe and started the engine so that the heat was running. Standing outside of the car, Tinsley snuggles into him tot block the wind. She nuzzled his chest and looked up at him.

"On a level of one to ten, how much are you freaking out?" Asked Tinsley.

"Twenty-five! Tinsley, this will put us having 4 kids under the age of one" said Jax.

"Yes, it will. It's going to be a major change that's for sure and we will need some help. I don't think I can keep all four kids in the office at TM with me all day. I'd never get any work done." Said Tinsley.

"Who said you needed to work?" Asked Jax.

"You can't be serious. I need to pull my own weight Jax. I can't just sit home all day" said Tinsley.

"So bake some stuff. Start a webpage and see if you can get any online sales and go from there" said Jax.

"You know, that's not a bad idea. I could be home with my babies and work on my baking" said Tinsley.

"Thats the plan" said Jax laughing.

"How do you think Gemma is going to react?" Asked Tinsley.

"Hard to tell. She loves Abel to death and I'm sure she will love these babies too but it is a big step up from one to having four" said Jax.

"Yes it is. Guess we need to pick out some more names." said Tinsley.

"Yea we do. And we may need to trade the Tahoe in on for a suburban. Something with more seating. said Jax.

"Yea, we definitely do. As much as I love the Tahoe, it's not going to work with 4 car seats since this one doesn't have the third row in the back.

"Let's get back to TM. I got some stuff to help Piney with today so I may not be around the shop much" said Jax.

"Can I ask what kind of help?" Asked Tinsley.

"Better that you don't know yet. I'll explain more tonight. I promise." said Jax.

"I'm holding you too it" said Tinsley as she turned to get into the warm car.

**************************************

When they pulled into the lot of TM and Jax had parked his bike, he walked over to the Tahoe and grabbed Abel's carrier and the diaper bag. They both headed for the office. Gemma was waiting inside when they walked it. Standing up form her desk, she grabbed Abel's carrier and took him out of it.

"So, what did the doctor say? Is Abel going to have a brother or a sister?" Asked Gemma.

"Both" said Jax smiling.

"Twins?" Asked Gemma.

"Triplets" said Tinsley

"Oh my god! Triplets? Really?" Asked Gemma.

"Yep. One boy and two girls." Said Jax.

"This is amazing news guys" said Gemma.

"Thanks ma" said Jax.

"Thanks Gemma" said Tinsley.

"So what's that mean for you?" Gemma asked Tinsley

"Well, the doctor has placed me on light bed rest. I can work here but I need to stay in a resting position and make sure I'm getting the right nutrients. I can't lift anything over fifteen pounds which means I can't lift little man anymore and I can't lift any file boxes to carry to storage either. Oh, and the doctor said all three looked to not have the family flaw" said Tinsley.

"That's amazing! We will figure out what to do around here as far as what you can and can't do. I'll be around all the time from here on out to help with Abel. Ohhhh, I can't wait to throw a baby shower" said Gemma.

What's all the hollering about in here?" Said Clay as he walked into the office.

Jax immediately went cold. The warm loving Jax who had been in the room two seconds ago was gone. He and clay had been at each other's throats since Opie's funeral. Jax hadn't talked about it much but he did say that he had some proof that it was Clay who ordered the hit on Opie. She just didn't know how much proof.

"Jax and Tinsley are having triplets" said Gemma to Clay.

"That's good news" and Clay.

"Thanks Clay" said Tinsley.

Jax just looked at him like he was ready to pounce on him at any moment.

"Oh, Gemma, I also wanted to give you a heads up that I won't be working here after the babies are born. I don't want to leave them with a nanny all the time. Jax and I have talked about it and I'm going to start baking and all from home after the babies are born. I'm going to start a web business and see if I can get up and running that way instead of a store front right out the gate" said Tinsley.

"Sounds good baby. That's for the heads up. I'll expect you to still come by eight jr babies during the work day though" said Gemma.

"You know I can't start away from here" said Tinsley.

"Anyway, I gotta get some stuff set up for the party tonight. Bobby is coming home finally. We're having a big party and I want both of you there. I even hired a nanny for Abel for the night just so you two could come... no excuses" said Gemma.

"We'll be here but I don't know how long we will stay" said Jax.

"That's fine. It would mean the world to Bobby to see you here" said Gemma as she walked out the door.

Tinsley went around the desk and had a seat, propping her feet up on the desk. She was going to need a more cushiony chair if she was going to spend a lot of time in this position.

"I gotta get some work done baby." Said Jax.

"Go, I'll be fine. If I need anything I'll call you" said Tinsley.

Kissing her on the lips, took her face in his hands and looked her in the eye.

"I love you Tinsley Marie Andrews" said Jax.

"I love you Jackson Nathaniel Teller" said Tinsley.

Taking his hands and placing them on her belly, he bent over and kissed her belly three times.

"And I love you three too" said Jax.

Abel whined and Jax walked over to the pack and play that was set up in the office. Picking him up, he told him he loved him too. Abel grabbed both sides of Jax's face and smiled the biggest smile. It was almost like he was telling Jax he loved him too.

"Hey, you think Gemma would mind if I ordered a more cushiony chair? This one is not the greatest for sitting in this position" said Tinsley.

"Order one. I'll pay for it. Gemma won't mind" said Jax.

Walking out of the office, Jax left Tinsley to get to work. He had somethings to take care of with Piney today and he wasn't sure how they were going to play out. Just as he was starting to work on the civic that needed a new head gasket, he heard Piney pull into the lot and he knew the day was about to go to shit.
