"Colt!"

I jogged up to Colt, who was opening the door to the trailer. He stopped, halfway up the steps and turned to face me, a small smile gracing his lips. "Hey."

I stopped in front of him, catching my breath. "Is everything okay?" Colt shrugged. "I mean, with Jody."

Colt nodded. "Yeah. It's ancient history." I nodded, awkwardly looking around at the  people rushing for the shuttle bus. "Uhh..."

"Because that whole was really awkward." Colt chuckled in agreement, brushing ash off of his arm from the fire. "Like, super awkward."

Colt nodded. "Yeah..." I watched him with a little smirk on my face. "It's a long story. I don't really wanna talk about it."

"Fair enough." I dropped the subject immediately.

"Thanks." He sighed, letting silence fall over us for a few uncomfortable moments. "Sorry about the camera."

"Nah, it's okay."

Colt hummed in his throat, clearly unconvinced. "Did you get the Comic-Con shot?" I think my expression answered his question for me. "Sorry."

I shook my head. "Really, it's fine." I wrung my hands out awkwardly, in front of me. "It'll work out."

Colt nodded, still looking guilty. I watched him, no malice or anger in my eyes. I really didn't blame him. He gestured to the trailer behind him. "Do you, uh... wanna come in?"

He waited patiently while I thought about it. "Sure." I followed Colt up the stairs and slipped past the door, which he held open. "Thanks."

"No problem." Colt shut the door and immediately raced for the coffee machine. "Finally!" I chuckled as he flipped up the lid on the machine, putting in a coffee pod. "I thought you Australian's were supposed to have the best coffee."

I nodded in a deadpanned confirmation. "We do."

"Then why is it so fuckin' hard for me to find any here?" Suddenly the machine started to smoke and splutter, causing me to wince internally. "Come on!"

I shook my head. "I'll have to take you to my favourite café in the city." Colt sighed, plonking himself onto the couch. "I promise it'll be better than the stuff you have back home."

I sat down on the other end of the couch and Colt followed me with his gaze. "We set a low bar."

We both chuckled at that, then fell into comfortable silence. I glanced up, to see Colt's eyes almost closed. He looked exhausted. "Jet lag kicking in?" He hummed in affirmation. I chuckled under my breath and stood up. "I'll let you rest, then."

Suddenly, his eyes shot open. "What?"

I stopped at the door. "I gotta pack up."

"Fine." Colt pouted like a child and rolled my eyes, opening the door.

"Skye."

I whipped around, to see the producer that Jody had been talking to yesterday standing right outside. I smiled politely down at her, holding the door open. "Hello... uh—"

"—Gail."

"Gail," I repeated, nodding in confirmation. "Sorry, I—uh—I was just talking to Colt."

Gail nodded, with furrowed brows. "So, he's in there?" I nodded, turning to see Colt, sitting up and rubbing his eyes. "I need to talk to him." I held the door open for her and she ascended the steps. "In private."

My eyes widened. "Oh... right." I let go of the door and she replaced my grip with her own. "Sorry."

Gail just smiled in farewell. "Jody wants you at the director's tent."

"Okay." I peeked around the door to see Colt, sending him a quick wave. "See you later, Colt."

Colt smiled. "Yeah."

I took a step away from the trailer and the door immediately slammed in my face. Okay...

"So, Skye, I want you on the car camera again for the reshoot. If you don't mind."

"Sure." I nodded in confirmation as Jody read over the script pages in front of her. "But are you sure...? After today, I mean."

Jody shook her head. "That wasn't your fault."

I sighed. "I know, but—"

"—It was Colt's fault." Jody straightened up the pages and put them in her bag. "This time will be slower and you'll be in the boot with the camera." I smiled unintentionally. "What?"

I shook my head. "Nothing, it's just... we call it a boot here too."

Jody chuckled. "Yeah, what are those American's on about with this whole 'trunk' thing." I hummed in agreement. "It's obviously a boot."

"I know, right!" Jody and I both laughed uncontrollably as the set began to clear out. We only stopped when the sound of a trailer door opening interrupted us. We glanced over, to see Gail leaving Colt's trailer. Jody narrowed her eyes in suspicion. "She said she needed to talk to him," I told her.

Jody turned to me as Gail slipped away. "What?"

I tilted my head towards where Gail had just disappeared. "I was, uh... just with Colt and Gail said she needed to talk to him in private."

"Interesting." Jody's eyes were furrowed and even though she didn't mention it, I could tell that me being in Colt's trailer bothered her. I didn't bring it up. "Oh well, she brought him here without telling me so she's probably asking him to leave." She slung her bag over her shoulder. "Good riddance."

"What?" Jody looked up at me, surprised at my outburst. "But Colt is really good at his job. Why do you want him to leave?"

Jody just rolled her eyes, letting out an exasperated sigh. "No one told me her was coming."

"Yeah, I know," I responded, trying not to overstep and insult my boss. "But, it was just a misunderstanding.... He's here now."

"Skye." I nodded, falling silent. "Colt and I have known each other for a long time." I didn't say anything and Jody definitely noticed my lack of surprise. "Who told you?"

I quickly shook my head. "No one."

"It was Dan, wasn't it?" I didn't respond. "Look," she began with a sigh. "What happened between Colt and I is history. It's over." I nodded. "But that doesn't mean I'm not still mad at him." Jody checked her watch, before turning around and leaving the tent. "See you tomorrow, Skye."

"Bye," I responded in a small voice as Jody joined the wave of people heading for the shuttle. I couldn't help feeling severely embarrassed at what had just taken place. Way to go, Skye.

I looked up at the sound of a door closing, to see Colt, leaving his trailer and heading in the same direction as everyone else.

A/N:  I had a sneaking suspicion from the start that Gail was a bit off. Right when she lied about Jody wanting Colt on set. Did any of you know Gail would be the villain?
