Chapter 4: Ozzing Chemistry

02:48, 17 October 2021

Alex's POV

I was still freaking out about how lifers could see us now. I still haven't met up with Willie so we still had no idea what kind of ghosts we are.

Flynn watched us reherse. Julie mentioned something about that Carrie girl coming over, but she never showed.

But what did show was the insane sparks between Luke and Reggie. Serrisoisly, how am I the only one that can see how madly in love they are with each other?

Like, the way the smile at each other, it's so cute it should be illegal. Luke looks at Reggie like he's the only one in the room and Reggie looks at Luke like he looks at puppies. How could anyone not know these two idiots were in love.

Anyways, after we finish rehearsing I decide to go look for Willie and talk to him again. Not knowing why friken lifers could see us was really starting to bother me.

"I'll see you guys later, I'm gonna go find Willie." I say. "Ask him about why lifers can see us."

"Alright, later dude." Luke says and I poof away.

I find Willie skating around a park and he smiles when he sees me. He skates over and kicks up is board in his arm.

"Hey there Hotdog." He smiles.

"Hi." I say, blushing like I did everytime he called me Hotdog.

"What's up?" Willie asks.

"Well...um I was just thinking we could hang out." I say.

"Up for more adventures are we?" Willie smiles. "Yeah, I'd love to hang out with you."

"Great, also....you said you knew what kind of ghosts we are?"

"Yeah....yeah." Willie says. "Look you have very powerful souls. Your love and connection to music makes your souls.... special. I don't really know how else to explain it....it's like my soul is just a regular old drum set, and your guys souls are like the fancy drum set. They're more desirable to Caleb. The more souls he has the more power he has, and if he has your guys souls he could be unstoppable."

"So why can lifers see us now?" I ask.

"Probably something to do with Julie." Willie says.

"Alright, thanks for all your help." I say. "But I'm ready for an adventure."

"One adventure, coming up." Willie smiles. He takes my hand, I love the feel of his hand in mine , and we poof away.

Julie's POV

I was a little sad when Carrie didn't show up, but later on she texted and said something came up with her faimly. After her parents divorce, I knew things were hard on her epically with family. Even though her mom wasn't her biological mom, they were so close. After the divorce though, she moved to Denver.

Maybe it was better she didn't come because when Flynn came into the studio she could see the guys and we weren't even playing. They explained they were now visable to lifers, they didn't understand it either. If Carrie came, I'd have to make up some exuse to why my 'swedish hologram' band was here.

I'm just lucky my dad is cool with them staying here. I know I'm gonna have to tell him the truth eventually, he'll start to get suspicious when they don't leave. I still had time though.

I was sitting in the studio when Alex poofs in. He was hanging out with Willie, his ghost friend. Although from what Luke and Reggie told me he was more than a friend.

"Hey." He says. "Where are the others?"

"Oh, Luke and Reggie went to the beach." I say.

Alex chuckled. "Those two are practically dating and they don't even know it." He says.

"Okay so I'm not the only one who notices their insane chemistry?" I ask.

"I've been noticing it since 1995." Alex says. "Those two have been in love for the longest time and they don't even realize it. I'm pretty positive they're gonna live their rest of their afterlife in this will they won't they romance. "

"What, no way they're totally gonna end up together." I say. Their love may be plantonic and hidden for now, but I just new their feelings were gonna come out sooner or later.

"I'm not too sure Jules. Trust me I've been watching them be in love and do nothing about it since before we died." Alex says. "Those two soulmates, but can't see the clear path to love."

"Why are you being so criptic?" I ask, not having any idea what be was saying. Luke and Reggie were deffintly gonna end up together. "I am telling you, they're gonna get together."

"Alright, whatever you say Jules."

Luke's POV

Me and Reggie sat in the sand, staring at the waves rolling in. I couldn't thank him enough for helping me talk to my parents again. I wanted to do something similar for him, but not only did we not even know we're is parents lived now, he was never that close with them.

But he was always close with his brother, but we also didn't know where he was since 1993. Maybe I could track him down and then Reggie could finally reconnect with him.

"We should probably go back to the studio now don't you think?" Reggie asks. "Alex and Julie are probably wondering where we are."

"Yeah." I nod as we get up though, we are greeted by a sinister smile.

"Hello boys, I see that my jolts didn't destroy you after all." Caleb says. Great. The one thing we didn't want to happen was Caleb finding out we were still around, and now here he was.

"Leave us alone." I say. "We will never ever join your band so stop trying!"

Caleb just laughed manically. I feel Reggie's hand take mine, our fingers intertwining. He squeezes my hand and I couldn't tell if it was to comfort me or because he was scared, but I returned the squeeze.

"You really thought I'd be asking?" Caleb asks. "I've moved past asking, one way or another your souls will be mine."

He snaps his fingers and we poof into the Hollywood Ghost Club, I was alone in a dark room with Caleb.

"Where's Reggie!?" I shout at him. If he did anything to hurt him I wouldn't rest until I found away to kill him again.

"Somewhere else." Caleb says.

"How'd you even know we were still alive?" I ask.

"I heard it from a friend." Caleb smiled. "Trevor- or I suppose you'll know him as Bobby. He's been my parenter in crime since 1995 when we posioned the hotdogs."

"T-that was you?"

"Well I needed you to be ghosts to be in my band, and Bobby needed songs." Caleb says. "It was the obvious thing to do."

I couldn't believe it. Bobby was one of my closest friends, and it hurt when I found out he stole our music. It hurts even worse knowing he was the one who killed us.

"Well....I guess I'll see you later, when my plan falls into play." Caleb laughs and poofs away. I knew he was going to go after Alex next, and I had no way to warn him.

Reggie's POV

Caleb poofed us away from the beach and I was alone in a dark room. Where was Luke? What if Caleb was gonna hurt him?

"Luke!?" I call out into the darkness, hoping he was here and I just couldn't see him. "Luke?!" I call out again, my voice quivering, hoping to get an answer. Nothing.

Just moments ago his hand was in mine and now I didn't even know if he was alright.
