The Lies Between Us

(Jeremy Cross - Jimin Park) (Veronica "Ross" Park - Rose) (Soo Kim - Jisoo)

1 - I Have Everything But...

Flashes of light occupy the space in one room at an exclusive studio which was famous for getting booked by high fashion brands and photographers. The set was covered with all things pink. There were chandeliers hanging on the ceiling and some aesthetics scattered on the floor.

White peonies and pink carnations were decorated on the walls. There were glitter dusts on busts of goddesses and faux furs torn on the ground.

It was a beautiful mess.

Kinda like the girl posing effortlessly in front of the camera under the illuminating lights.

"Can somebody move the tail. Okay that's it." The director yelled.

The lady in front was drop dead gorgeous. She knew how her angles work. She's got eyes like a child but her plump lips were in contrast. Her nose has a high bridge and her face was small and angelic. Her make up did little to cover her skin but it didn't fail to show her beauty.

The dress she was wearing was asymmetrical. It showed a lot of skin especially her long legs.

It's hard to believe that she was once insecure about them before...but now, you'll never see her hiding them.

The director calls and shouts, "Okay. That's a wrap!"

"Come down now, honey."The director reached for her hand to assist her coming down the life size unicorn pinata that was artistically handcrafted from Italy just to make it to her set on this day.

"Can I see the photos, Grace?" She asks all smiles at the Vogue director.

"She's asking for the photos Hedi. I don't think you have to worry about that dear. You look exquisite in every shot."

She smiled politely and went to meet her photographer.

"You slayed our hearts yet again, mon amour," Hedi cheered as he lead her on to the computer to show her her best shots.

"Nah... I don't think I did my best today."

She tilted her head to the side criticizing herself on the screen. After every shoot, she always makes sure to do and look her best. Some people say she had it easy but she's actually her own worst critic.

"Oh please, you look perfect. As always."

"Thanks, Hedi. But I think I can do better, let me go back to-"

Her photographer almost rolled his eyes at her unsatisfied mood. After all, she wasn't just a model. She's also the perfectionist.

"Excuse me, let me through! I'm looking for my main girl."

Soo, one of her best friend slash manager came barging in unannounced making a beeline to where she was while rocking her signature Dior sunglasses.

"Miss me that much?"

"Missing you costs a lot so I have a better reason why I'm here."

"Saved by the bell," Hedi whispered to Grace and ordered the team to pack up.

"Is this girl working you too hard? I'm sorry. But really, sometimes I even wonder if she's human. I think she's a machine most of the time."

"Okay, bye everyone! Thanks for today!" Her slender hand cover her friends mouth to shut her up.

When the two of them finally found a room to talk alone, Soo tossed her sunglasses on the couch. A habit she does when good news is around the corner.

"Guess who got the lead for Princetown." Soo bit her lip to contain her excitement. This was her her goal from the moment her friend gave her a go signal to act in the big screen.

"Oh. My. God."

"Yes!"

"Please tell me it's not me."

"Lis...you're going to become a movie star!"

.....

Supermodel Lisie Moore rumored to star along side Jeremy Cross in Sam Mendes' latest film Princetown.

The highly anticipated book adaptation movie is said to be the next masterpiece of the Academy Award Winning director. Days after the official announcement, Jeremy Cross was seen holding the script walking outside his agency in South Korea.

Lisie has been hot in the runways since the beginning of her modeling career. She has little experience doing films but her fans are excited to hear that she'll play a foxy lead role in this one.

What do you think of Lisie Moore getting on board in Princetown?

Drop us a line in the comments.

Princetown hits theaters September 2021.

"We're celebrating tonight." Soo announced catching her attention. "By the way, Ross is coming," she added.

"Doesn't she have a tour or something..."

"Lis...when will you two ever make up?"

"I'm over this feud a long time ago. It's her choice to avoid me." Lis sneered and grabbed a bottle of water.

Soo gave her a judgy face.

"I'm just surprised she's decided to show up."

9 years and seven months ago, she and her bestfriends, Soo and Ross, created a youtube channel. Little did they know that starting a vlog will forever change their lives.

As every video of their channel get millions and millions of views they also decided to focus and improve on each of their skills. Soo played the mother role and managed both of them. Ross entered the music industry while she modelled her way to fame.

It wasn't an easy job. She has to do everything herself. Before she got casting calls from top brands, she made a portfolio on instagram. The likes and comments on her posts was overwhelming but social media was different from the "real" word.

Society has very high standards especially when you want to be famous.

Being called "instagram model" was a stigma in the fashion industry because they think that instagram models are not at par with the supermodels...

She thought it was true for a moment, until one guy came and taught her what real confidence is...

Soo made a reservation that night at some high end restaurant to celebrate her latest achievement.

Her parents were there to welcome her.

"You guys, you're here!" Lis cried hugging both her parents. She doesn't see them much and when she does it was only for a short while.

"We flew as soon as we heard. I thought you said you didn't want to act!"

"Well, If I don't ruin this movie then I might pursue another one or two."

"You take after your mom a lot." Her dad chuckled, ruffling her hair.

After her parents and Soo's parents arrival, their attention was held by Soo who was making a toast.

"I'd like to thank everyone for coming to this special dinner. As you may all heard, our Lisie has finally bagged her first starring role on the big screen. Lisie, I told you before, I'm going to make you your best version and now you're here. Aren't you glad I'm your manager?"

The room got filled with chuckles.

"I need a raise though..." Lis commented.

"Oh shut up. You need to give me a raise."

The rest of the night was fantastic. But they would't call it a night if there's no drama involved.

Suddenly, there was commotion outside the restaurant. Soo took a peak and found that paparazzi were swarming because Veronica Park just got out of the limo.

"I thought no one knew about this, Suzane Josephine," Lisie groaned hearing the noises of the paps outside.

"No, but apparently your other best friend finally decided to make an appearance, Lisette Lavinia," Soo answered calling her in her full name as well.

Lisie raised her eyebrow and just when she's about to leave the table, the doors opened.

"Sorry. Traffic." The newcomer muttered in a small voice.

"Veronica Rose Park. So glad you can join us." Lisie smirked.

"Y-yeah... Well. Congratulations." She moved closer and gave her a present. She bit her lip to hide a smile when she took note of the brand.

"Are you giving me free products from YSL now?"

"I-it's not-"

Lisie's giggle escaped her lips.

"Ya, did you forget who this is?" Soo joined the reunion.

"I almost forgot your dry humor"

"And you're still a softie."

"Will you two just hug!"

"I'm sorry I'm late."

"What are you saying? It's no big deal." Lisie smiled genuinely at her old friend.

Even though things weren't going well between the two of them for the past year, Lis felt happy to know that Ross supports her acting gig.

"No. Lis, I'm not only saying sorry for today."

Oh.

A lot of people know that Lisie Moore excels in a lot of areas. What everyone doesn't know is that she's also an expert when it comes to hiding her feelings.

"Let's forget about it Ross. We promised before that no boy should ever come between us. To tell you the truth, I felt hurt when you suddenly turned cold towards me more than the fact that he rejected me..."

The accusation felt like a slap on her face. Ross has always admired her best friend for being brave but never for being up front. That's probably why it hurt hearing the truth from her.

"Lis..."

"Shouldn't I be the one doing that? I mean... He chose you." Lisie couldn't hide the spite in her words. Though she tells Soo that she's moved on, it was nearly impossible to forget the first boy she's ever loved. Especially when that same boy was the reason you and your bestfriend got into a cold war.

"I'm really sorry Lis..." Ross said nearly in tears.

"Don't be. It's not anyone's fault."

"But I ended up hurting you."

"What's a little heartache? It's not like I don't get hate comments everyday." Lis shrugged, paying attention to her tea.

"I'm sorry... For making you feel like I betrayed you... I'll always love you first," Her best friend was eager to win her back. For what they had shared in the past would always stay in her heart.

The two girls shared a hug. Some tears were shed and all that' s in the past were forgiven.

"You and the chipmunk friends again?" Soo asked when she joined her on the restaurant's lounge while Ross was on the phone with someone.

"I guess we are." She smiled at Soo's nickname for Ross.

"Good. Friendship breakups are the worst."

"What are you so busy about?"

"You're schedule for tomorrow's costume fitting. Aren't you excited?"

Lis gave out a big sigh.

"Are you alright?"

"Everything feels fast. I'm not complaning but sometimes I wish time would go slow. Just so I can check myself if I'm still okay." Lis voiced out her thoughts while grabbing the fresh lilies on the table top.

"Is there anything you need? I can give you five days vacation but that's all I can get you. You can't extend for a week." Soo negotiated making her laugh.

"I'm fine sis. I prolly need just a good laugh..."

"I personally think Jeremy Cross will look like a dwarf next to you."

And with that Soo achieved her task successfully. Lisie burst in giggles just because of her blunt commentary.

"I'm being real here. I mean if he's playing Abe Anerky's character then this film is going down the drain. I still couldn't forgive him for wearing a pyjama top at last year's ball. God, I'm the one embarrassed for him"

"Soo! He's my co-star. How could you say that. He just looks short in pictures."

"I don't think the casting is final yet. Maybe you can still back out together with him. You wanted slower days remember... "

"Soo!"

"Save yourself from the fashion police."

"Stop!"

"Made you laugh though~"

"You did."

Just then, Ross' voice from the hallway was rising that it's difficult not to hear her.

"You don't need to come here. Why are you being so pushy! Of course I have bodyguards. Five! Okay... Just three but I don't see your point. No. Don't come here!"

Lisie has convinced herself that she's over him but why does the thought of him getting worried for her best friend still hurts like a fresh wound?

Maybe she's never really meant to feel happy today. Because after feeling okay with Soo, just seeing her other best friend talking to him over the phone shut her back to lonelyville.

She couldn't help but walk out the place the moment she realized she still not over it. Not completely.

She heard her name being called by Soo but she was persistent to get away. She used her classic black jacket to cover her head in case the media was still there.

When it felt like she's already walked for a few minutes, she hanged her jacket just above her shoulders and browsed her phone like she's busy.

She needed to get away from there. If he's thinking of visiting Ross then it's very likely that she'll bawl her eyes out at the sight of them.

She was unconsciously scrolling her instagram account when she caught a sight.

It was impossible to miss because the media from earlier caught up to him quick.

The guy was dressed casually like it was an ordinary day. His hair was longer and the way he's striding says he's on for personal business.

If she hadn't known he's here because of her best friend, and if the situation was like before, she would've run to his arms and into his embrace like every time he visits their apartment.

But things have changed and they certainly don't have that kind of relationship. She would've been delighted had he showed up for her but in reality, seeing him now felt like misery.

Tonight was her night. So why can't he just be there for her? Isn't that too much to ask?

They were friends after all.

A shutter from a camera disturbed her self-pitying. A short guy who belonged to his throng of paparazzis noticed her presence.

She quickly wiped her tears and dashed to the nearest hotel she could get into.

She's not part of the A-list celebrities but after the rumors about her getting aboard the most awaited movie, she knows it's about time life's goin a get wilder than usual.

Thankfully, the hotel she ran into looks posh enough for the media to enter. Some people inside saw her coming in and if they knew who she was they didn't make a big deal out of it. She saw a coffee shop inside and went in to calm her nerves. She looked around relieved that the place was out of customers. It was the perfect place to hide.

"We're closing in 15 minutes, Miss." A lady from the counter announced.

"It's fine. I'll just take a look." She said taking a seat on one of the purple couches. She busied herself looking at the menu locking her eyes at the cake and pie section.

The delicacies look tasty and she almost got herself a slice of pecan when she remembered she has a fitting tomorrow.

She has it all and she could buy anything but a slice of pecan...

How ironic.

The thought made her tick. And after everything that's happened tonight, she's definitely getting a treat.

"I fucking deserve this. I can get fat for all I care." She muttered marching her way to the counter.

A low chuckle from the next table told her she hasn't gone completely incognito. She caught his eye when she faced him. "I don't mean to laugh but...your face looks really funny while saying that."

That's when she recognized him.

"Excuse me?"

"Please...by all means go get your cake or something." He said shaking his head like her job entertaining him was over.

This guy was a complete stranger to her but showbiz is a small world and she definitely know this guy was renowned especially during his early days in his career.

But compared to his innocent and boy-next-door image twenty years ago, he managed to do a complete 180. Because nowadays, he's infamous for his ragged looks, and his bad boy image.

Lis had seen a lot of handsome men, but this one probably takes the cake.

The guy probably noticed she was staring so she snapped out of it and say... "Aren't you supposed to be in rehab?" The words were out even before she could stop herself.

Thankfully, he doesn't seem to be offended and laughed it off.

"I'm sorry, I mean... the news and rumors are all about you..."

"Apology accepted. Besides, they don't serve cakes in rehab so I went straight here because I'm cravin," He joked. "Tait Kingston." He stood up reaching his hand out to her.

"Lis..." she said feeling very girlish and reached for his hand.

"Tay! There you are, the car's here!" It was the actor Jeremy Cross and judging from the look on his face, he was surprised to see them together.

"Wait, woah are you two really dating? Is Celine couple more than just a ship?" Jeremy Cross beamed feeling excited about what he just discovered.

Lis almost rolled her eyes.

That ship. She should probably thank both their fans for thinking something's going on between them. Publicity is publicity. Whether it's good or not. Bottom line is, people talked about it.

Nowadays if they caught you wearing the same brand with another celebrity, they'll automatically think you're dating. So even though they haven't formally met before, Lis and Tait Kingston were in some kind of "ship".

The fans seem to think they match well together just because they both like wearing Celine shirts and fashion style. But honestly though, the guy was too beautiful for Lisie.

"Sorry about him, he usually gets jumpy around models..." Tait Kingston smiled so handsomely she thought her knees felt weak.

She needs to get used to this. Maybe talking to actors like him will be like practice for what's to come. She wouldn't want to faint had she ran into someone like Timothee Chalamet...

She needs to act like she's a celebrity. Sometimes she forgets she's one.

"Hey! You're making me look bad in front of my co-star" Jeremy Cross yelled.

"I'm sure she thinks you're awesome" Tait Kingston appeased his friend. "It was nice meeting you Ms. Moore... See you around."

Again...that boyish smile. So different from his bad boy facade.

"Yeah...you too."

And for a while, she owed the night to him. Because she was able to forget what the past had left even for just a short moment... and look forward to what's coming ahead.

"Miss... We'll close in 5 minutes."

She smiled at the lady and finally bought the pie.

To be continued...
