Chapter 6

Tao's POV

It has been a few hours since Tigress and Crane showed up. We were walking down to the Valley of Yu to get more supplies for the journey.

"Where is this guy that you're talking about" Tigress asked.

"He is down to the south, a few days travel from the Valley of Peace." I replied.

"Are you serious?! Do we have the time?!" Tigress exclaimed.

"And here I was hoping this help was on the way back to the Valley of Peace." Crane said.

"Sadly not. I will say I wish it was so, but he is living in the Valley of Serenity." I say.

Silence grew between us for a few minutes as I got the supplies.

"So, you grew up with Tai Lung? What was it like? Was he as arrogant and self centered as always?" Crane asked.

It kind of pissed me off that he would assume that Tai Lung was always that way. I turned towards him faster than I wanted, and by the look on his face, he could that he pissed me off.

"Tai Lung was never arrogant or selfish! Yes, he went mad and betrayed everything we stood for! But that was NOT Tai Lung! That was not my brother!" I exclaimed.

"Woah, I'm sorry. I didn't meant to upset you." Crane said.

I calmed down. I know their first impression of Tai Lung wasn't good, but he is my brother.

"*sigh* Sorry. I know you guy's didn't have such a good first impression of him, but I grew up with him." I said.

"I guess you two were close?" Tigress asked.

"Yes." I said, sighing. "When I was three years old, my parents put me in a tiny hole in a big rock and ran off."

*Flashback*

I was laying here for what felt like days crying and wondering why. My stomach growls and I know I can't stay here, I will surely die. I get out and look around, wondering which direction would mean survival. I decided to take a gamble and headed east.

After hours of walking I was exhausted and wondered if I would ever find something. I decided to walk a few more minutes before giving up for the night. After a few more minutes I saw it, a village!

My hope came back as I ran as fast as I could. After a few minutes I reached the village. Now I need to find shelter. I am hungry but I am more tired than hungry right now. I look around an see an empty wooden box. I get in the box and immediately fall asleep.

"Hey"

"Hey!"

"Kid."

"WAKE UP!"

I shoot up awake to see a snow leopard staring at me.

"What are you doing on your own and in a box none the less kid?" he asked.

I hesitantly told what happened. He looked to me with a bit of sadness in his eyes.

"Well, you living in small wooden box won't do. Come, I'll take to my home." he said

I smile and follow him.

"What's your name kid?" he asked.

"Tao Khan. You?" I ask.

"Tai Lung" he replies.

After a good twenty minutes we make it to Tai Lungs home.

"Wow! This is your home?" I ask in amazement at how big and beautiful it is.

"Yep. Welcome to the Jade Palace Tao Khan." He said.

"Tai Lung, who is this you have with you" asks a red panda.

"Master Shifu, this is Tao Khan. I found him alone in a small wooden crate. He says that his parents abandoned him. I was wondering if he could stay here since he doesn't have a home?" Tai Lung asked.

This Master Shifu looked at me as if in thought, then smiled.

"Of course. If you would show him around and get him accustomed to his new home and show him to his room." he said.

I smile.

I have a home.
