Author's Note

Hi everyone! How are you doing? I imagine some of you have reached this part with crumpled tissues by your side, and for that, I’m truly sorry. I know this story may have left you in tears. I didn’t mean to make you cry, but this is the story that Alastair and Zaviya needed to tell—a story of two broken souls fighting against their fate, only to end up wounding each other even more. It’s not the happy ending you may have hoped for, but love isn’t always about fairytale endings. Sometimes, it’s about learning to let go.

This story reflects one of the many facets of love: the art of letting go. I understand this may not be the kind of love story you wanted to read, but I hope it leaves you with something to think about. Love doesn’t always turn out the way we want. It can hurt us, devastate us, and bring us to our knees. But what makes love beautiful is its ability to teach us bravery—the courage to let go of someone we love, even when it feels like it’s tearing us apart.

Sometimes, love means being selfless—putting someone else’s happiness above our own. True love doesn’t demand, it gives. It doesn’t leave you more broken but helps you grow. And most importantly, love should never require something in return. As the saying goes, “If you love someone, set them free. If they come back, they’re yours. If not, they never were.” Sometimes, holding on too tightly only causes more pain. Letting go may be the greatest act of love we can give.

Thank you for taking the time to read this story, even though it’s not your typical romance. Your thoughts, comments, and support mean so much to me, and you’ve been an important part of this journey. I hope to read more of your insights and feedback as the story continues.

Yes, there will be a book two! The next chapters will continue the journey of Alastair and Zaviya, so stay tuned and hold on tight. Thank you again, and God bless you all!
