Chapter 15

~Adrien's POV~

No... It can't be... there's no way.

She can't have only one week left.

She can't die.

I need her.

I want to save her.

I want to protect her.

I don't want her to die.

I don't want to let her go.

We belong together because...

I love her with all my heart.

Movement was heard from Marinette's bed, we all looked at her worried. Her mother got closer and her father ran to Marinette's side to see what was going on.

I stayed a little bit closer to my lady then Marinette's mother, looking at the love of my life with tears in my eyes. Hoping and praying that she is ok.

She opened her eyes, slowly looking around the room. She seemed confused and scared but once she saw her parents she looked calm again.

Then she made eye contact with me...her eyes are so beautiful and those big eyelashes...god she is perfect in every way possible, she looks absolutely stunning even in this condition and she is perfect for me.

But as soon as she made eye contact she closed her eyes.

"..mmm" she groans looking like she's in a lot of pain...and she probably is. She started moving a little.

" Stay still honey I'm going to inform a doctor that you are awake" her father said running out of the room.

Marinette looked at her mother a little confused maybe she's wondering how she got here...

" Stay still Marinette you're going to hurt yourself" Sabine said as she saw that her daughter raised her hand a little to look at it.

"How..how did i got here?" Marinette asked confused. Looking at me for a second then tuned her attention to her mother.

"SABINE!" Marinette's father yelled and Sabine ran out of the room.

Now it's just me and Marinette, the love of my life...my partner, my lady.

She closed her eyes again trying to ignore that I'm in the same room as her.

"What are you doing here?" Marinette asked suddenly. She didn't sound mad she was just confused and a little scared i could also hear how hurt she sounded and this just broke my heart, she's still suffering for what i said to her.

"I was worried about you so i came to check up on you" i said coming closer to her, taking a seat next to her bed.

" But why...? Don't you hate me too?" She asked as i could see tears forming in her eyes.

" I could never hate you Marinette" i said feeling truly sorry that i made her think that i hate her.

" But you said-" she said but i interrupted her, i want to tell her the truth i can't see her suffering because i hate her anymore.

" I don't hate you! Please understand!" I said getting up from my seat, at this point i think the tears in my eyes are visible but i don't care.

" Then what happened to you...?" She asked slowly and quietly.

" I was too blind. I understand now that it was Lila's doing... She just made it look like it was you, i was so confused..." I said taking her hand in mine, i was relieved when she didn't pulled away.

" You where the only person that i had left" she said looking at our hands.

" I know..." I said feeling terrible for leaving her alone.

" And that hurt me very much" she said closing her eyes again, i could tell that she was holding back tears.

" I never intended to hurt you..." I said finally letting my tears run down my cheeks free, without me holding any back.

" I was alone to deal with them, they hurt me a lot but not knowing that you are there for me hurt me even worst" she said letting her tears slide down her cheeks too.

" I'm sorry..." I said looking at her hand and how little and fragile her hand is.

" They hurt me a lot and they would say horrible things" she said, more tears sliding down her pale cheeks.

" I'm sorry" i said not taking my eyes off her hand, i can't see her crying it just brakes my heart more.

" Adrien...i have cancer. I needed you then the most and you just left" she said even more tears escaping from her beautiful bluebell eyes.

" I'm sorry.." i said again.

" I'm not mad at you for what happened I'm just so hurt by all the things that happened and you leaving me was the final drop that broke me entirely" she said crying louder.

" I'm sorry..." I said feeling ten times more horrible then before. Hearing her crying like this it's too much for me but i won't leave the room i need to be by her side, I'm not leaving ever again.

Who knows how much she has left...so i need to spend every second with her.

" I can't hate you Adrien i just can't you mean a lot to me but it just hurts you know, I'm in a lot of pain right now but I'm happy that i got you back" she said looking at me smiling.

" I'm happy to have you back as well... m'lady" i said kissing her head, her face dropped.

" W-what did you call me..?" She asked shocked but i could also see happiness behind her shock, maybe she's happy that I'm Chat Noir.

" I said that I'm happy to have you back bugaboo" i said smiling at her. She smiled back at me she looked so happy.

" It's you. You are my ch-" she said but immediately stopped when someone entered her room.

A doctor entered with two nurses, Marinette's parents looked worried.

" Adrien sweetie let's get out the doctor needs to talk with Marinette" Sabine said giving me a fake smile, she looked tired.

" Ok...I'll be in the hallway, I'm not leaving you again my princess" i said kissing her hand again then got out of the room.

I waited and waited to go back in the room to see my lady again i think we need to have a conversation but the doctor was taking forever.

I don't know what they talked about but it must be really serious.

But once the doctor and the nurses came out of the room they wouldn't let me enter the room because "visiting hours are over".

I eventually went home ate dinner alone like always then went in my room.

Maybe visit hours are over for Adrien but they are never over for Chat Noir.

I quickly transformed after giving Plagg a big piece of camembert and ran to the hospital.

I looked for the window in her room and to my luck Tikki was waiting for me, maybe Plagg communicated with her to tell her that we are coming.

She opened the window for me and i jumped in the room.Marinette was looking at me with a small smile on her face.

"Claws in" i said detransforming in front of her.

" It really is you" my princess said opening her arms for a hug, i immediately hugged her, being careful not to hurt her.

I kisses her nose and she giggled, i haven't seen her this happy in a really long time and seeing her this happy made me extremely happy.

She looked at me once she stopped giggling then kissed my lips, i kiss her back right away. It was a long passionate kiss that was full of love.

" I think we may need to talk m'lady" i said once we separated from the kiss.

" Shhh Mon chaton let's talk tomorrow, right now i want to cuddle" she said making space for me on the bed.

I smiled at her getting in her bed as well, i scooped her up into my arms and she rested her head on my chest.

" I'm so happy it was you" she said nuzzling into my chest.

" And I'm happy that it was you as well" i said kissing her head.

I love this girl so much. I can't even describe it into words how much i love her.I wish that we can be together forever but... something inside me makes me think that that won't be possible.

I closed my eyes and just like that we both fell asleep, feeling protected and loved in each others warmth.
