Ch. 3- You arent alone

Author notes: I wrote chapter 3 as chapter 2 HELP I finished writing this at 2 in the morning 💀 anyways that's all I wanted to say

Smg4.. are you okay?.." Meggy asked, gently resting her hand on four's shoulder. "I'm- o-okay." His response was dreadful to hear, especially to three. Not with the words he said, even with the way he looked which was a mess, it was obviously he wasn't 'okay', His voice sounded so dry, and broken. It sounded like he hasn't been hydrated for days. "Mario doesn't believe you're okay smg4." Mario went and placed his own hand on four's other shoulder, making eye contact with him. "You look like you've been crying." "Mario's right, I mean, have you..?" Three asked.

Four felt overwhelmed, cornered and having no way out. Maybe yes there was a way out but his legs were frozen, he couldn't move. He knows no matter what he could tell them what's going on, with anything he's dealing with and struggling with. He knows he can count on them, his friends, but for some reason he felt like he shouldn't say. He had to though, he looked up and made eye-contact with them, more towards his beloved three and began to speak once again. "Yes. Yes I-I..have. I'm so sorry you guys.. I'm so-" There it was again, the fresh tears coming down his face. He bowed his head down and brought his hands to cover his face as shame consumed him. Three felt horrible for him. He urgently needed to know what was going on with four, why he looked the way he did, why he was crying.Meggy went ahead and gently led smg4 inside the castle, having Mario and Three follow behind the two. "Come on four, let's get you inside so we can talk.."

They all made it into four's room. Four sat down on his messy bed, having his gaze focus on the wooden floor beneath him as Meggy and Mario settled down as well. Three was okay with standing and stood a good distance in front of four. Four wiped away his tears and slowly calmed down before he spoke again. "Y-you guys should go.. I- I swear I'm okay.. I'm just tired.." "ENOUGH OF THAT BULLSHIT FOUR!" Three's sudden outburst startled them."3! please calm down, shouting isn't going to do any good her-" Meggy tried to state but three interrupted. "No! I'm just- I- he's lying! He's not okay! Something obviously happened!" Mario hugged smg4 from the side and rubbed his hand up and down on four's back in a way of comforting him . The sudden outburst really frighten four. Three immediately felt guilty, as he didn't mean to lash out on him. He was just worried, and didn't like how he couldn't help four because he didn't know what was going on with him. "Ju-just get out.. all of you." whispered four. Meggy turned her attention towards four once again."Four?.." "I SAID GET OUT! PLEASE I JUST WANT TO BE ALONE!" Four brought his legs up and buried his head into his knees as Meggy and Mario flinched away from him. Meggy turned to look at three seeing how three was just as surprised as she was. Meggy faced four before making her way out.

"We'll leave you be but four, don't forget we are always here for you no matter what.. you know that right?" Four didn't respond but Meggy didn't mind, letting four know he wasn't alone was good enough for her. Mario was quiet and he was nervous to give four a pat on the back or anything to try and comfort him once more in fear of him being pushed away or screamed at. Meggy and Mario made their way out and noticed three wasn't moving. He noticed them both, made eye-contact and motioned with his eyes that they could leave. "I'll leave last guys." Smg3 said as he turned his head towards four. "Mario and I will be back in the cafe to be there for eggdog and beeg, is that alright?" Three nodded, the footsteps of Meggy and Mario can be heard disappearing as the sound of the door finally opened and closed.

Three silently made his way towards the bed and gently sat himself next to four. Four had noticed three was still here with him, and not in the slightest was he upset about it."Hey.." Three started. "I'm sorry for lashing out on you. You did nothing wrong I promise, it's my fault it's just- I'm.. just worried for you. " Three gently placed his hand on top of four's back, mimicking how Mario was trying his best to comfort him, moving his hand back and forth in a gentle manner. Four gave in to his touch, having his legs go down off the bed and sat up straight. Some time passed as they were in the same position, silence consuming them. Four didn't mind the silence but it made him rather anxious on what was going to happen next. His anxiety faded away as three softly spoke. "Would you please tell me what happened?.."

As four began to build the courage, he began to shift himself to face three , hugging his knees close to his chest once more. Three turned his body to face four as well, giving four his complete focus. 'Come on four. Tell him! He's here for you!" He thought to himself.He took a deep breathe before starting. "I- .. I had a.. nightmare. I know it's dumb, but.. it's the same nightmare I have every night that just won't leave me alone. Last night was the first night I've decided to go out for some fresh air, only to get myself trapped in the forests. "Hey it's not dumb at all, and it's nothing to be ashamed of. If you don't mind me asking, what was your nightmare about?"

Smg4 felt that breathing was getting a bit difficult to do, as if something was covering his throat. "It.. it was well, back with the whole .. "perfect video".. if you get what I mean.." Three instantly knew what four meant with "perfect video". "But it's always the same like I said. In the beginning , I see everyone who I count as a friend like Meggy, Mario, boopkins, Tari, the rest of the gang..and-" Four stopped himself before saying what he was going to say. Smg3 wasn't his friend, he knew he and smg3 were close but calling him a friend felt.. wrong. He was more than that."And..?" "And we-well. Just all of you guys there.. at the old castle. Then everything blacks out, I can't see anything for a moment until the light comes back. I look and I'm trapped in my room.. tied against the chair with my computer in front of me. "".. I see.""... then- I- I'm sorry.." He began to tremble, he drug his fingers into his hair, tightening his grip onto his hair."Oi- hey, four?! Four, look at me. It's okay alright? You have no reason to say sorry it's okay-" "NO! ITS- ITS NOT- I-" Three hated seeing four cry, it brought such a heavy weight on his heart. "I KILLED YOU! I'M SUCH A HORRIBLE PER-PERSON.. Y-YOU DIED BECAUSE OF M-"He had enough of this!

He lunged forward and hugged the meme guardian, careful not to squeeze him so hard. For smg4, it felt as the whole world had stopped for a second. His cries of pain and frustration had finally stopped once again. He couldn't believe that three was hugging him, holding him close. He began to feel how the feeling of butterflies in his stomach began to form, his face heating up and his heart pounding in a more faster rate. He couldn't help but snuggled his face into three's shoulder and wrap his arms around him. "You're NOT a horrible person four, do you understand me?! Look, everything that happened back in Princess Peaches's castle is in the past. That 'keyboard' that possessed you won't get you again, at least not on my watch."

Four couldn't help but smile. A genuine smile, filled with comfort and happiness, something he hasn't be able to actually do without faking it here and there. After a while, three pulled away and looked into four's eyes. "How do you feel?" He asked. "Well.. I feel.. o-okay- better!" Four giggled nervously, wiping his face with the palms of his hands. "I'm glad you're feeling better four.." Three, slowly, felt the same feeling with his heart and his body acting up like four had felt when he was in three's embrace. Smg3 felt really different, his stare that was connected to smg4's eyes shifted down towards his lips. His eyes moved up towards four's eyes again, really taking in how soft and blue his eyes were. He can actually see the light in his eyes shine .

Four couldn't hold himself back as he had the same thoughts as three did. Silence again has approached them, and there they were, stuck into a trance with eachother. Before things got towards another level, they both jumped at the sudden burst through the door of smg4's room. It was non other than Mario, who flew in and fell face-first on the floor. "Ouch!.. Mario's a-okay!" Mario got up and walked towards the two meme guardians.

"MARIO! Can't you just walk in without breaking the door down?!" "Oooh Mario is sorry, but smg3.. WE HAVE A PROBLEM!" "What problem is-"Just then, Meggy had ran in clearly out of breath. "MARIO SET THE CAFE ON FIRE!" "WHAT?!"Smg3 got up and ran towards the window, seeing his precious cafe set on fire, costumers running around like maniacs!"AHHHH! MY CAFE!"Smg3 opened the window and jumped out to save his burning cafe."Mario will-a-help too!" Mario flew out of the window, following smg3. Four didn't know how to react to all this so he just sat there , staring out the window. Meggy was about to follow smg3 as well but stayed to check up on four.

"Hey smg4?" Four flinched a bit , forgetting that Meggy was there with him but settled down as his eyes net hers. "Sorry, didn't mean to startle you, but how are you now? If you know what I mean..""Oh, no it's okay Meggy, and I'm feeling better now. Also, I'm sorry for my outburst. I just-""No need to explain I understand, really! I'm just glad to hear you're now feeling better."Four smiled at her comment, appreciating her for her concerns and how much of a good friend she was. "I'm guessing smg3 stayed to talk to you?" "Y-yeah he did""Awhh, that's so sweet of him! I'm happy on how close you guys are and that you were willing to speak with at least someone" Four's face warmed up on what she had said. He could agree that in a way him and smg3 were close. He really did adore that, even though he knew.. he didnt deserve him.
