Chapter 14
01:47, 29 June 2014After dinner we played for a little longer and then it was time for Lilly to go to bed. She had a shower and then I dried her hair for her. "Do you think Cody will read me a story?" "Why don't you ask him while you're saying goodnight?" "I will." She said. She took my hand and we went downstairs.
"Night everyone." She said shyly. "Come on, Lil. You know these people." I laughed. She gave her hugs and kisses and then whispered something in Cody's ear. He nodded and got up from the table. I took his seat at the table. "Are you coming back with us tonight?" Angie asked. "I think Cody wants me to, yes." I nodded. "It's up to you, not Cody." "I'm okay with it." I smiled.
Everyone chatted for a while until we left. "I'm having a shower, okay?" I kissed Cody's cheek and went up to his bedroom. I got into the shower and let the warm water run down my body. I wasn't in the shower long before getting out and throwing one of Cody's shirts on before going to get Alli's blow dryer to dry my hair.
Cody had already crashed when I came out of the bathroom. I smiled to myself. I turned off the lights and climbed under the sheets next to him. Cody rolled over and I cuddled up to him. My phone lit up on the dresser so I picked it up. It was Marcus. I took another look at Cody before ignoring the text and returning to Cody's arms.
He kissed my head and held me tighter. "Thank you." He whispered. "Huh?" "For ignoring him." "I know what I want. I've realized what's good for me." "I love you." He kissed my head again. I smiled and closed my eyes before hiding my face in his chest.
When I woke up, Cody was missing. I groaned and pulled the covers up higher. After a while of playing games on my phone Angie came into the room. "Morning." I smiled. "I didn't see you there." She laughed and placed Cody's clothes on his desk. "Buried in blankets." She added. "Where's Cody?" "He's at the gym." "Okay."
Once she'd left I got up and got dressed. I remembered to bring something to wear for today so I changed into that and applied my makeup before straightening my hair and going downstairs. "Hi." I greeted Tom while sitting with him on the couch. "Where is everyone?" "Outside." "Why are you in here?" "Cartoons." He looked back at the television. "Fun." I said sarcastically.
"I'd rather this than the things you watch." "I watch proper programmes." "You watch disney channel!" "Boy, you know that channel rocks." I folded my arms. "You're such a looser." He laughed. "Be nice to your brother's girlfriend." I tapped his head. "I'll tell Cody you said that." "No. He'll get too cocky." I said and got up. "Yeah, I hate it when he does that." I heard Cody's voice behind me.
"Me too." I turned to look at him. "I'm just gonna jump in the shower." "Okay. Have fun." I walked past him. "I plan to." He said and went up the stairs. I went out the back doors to find everyone sat together. "Where's Alli?" "With Madison." "Pettis?" "Yes." "Oh." I rolled my eyes. "You don't like Madison?" "Nope. I've got my own Madison to like." I said. Brad laughed at me.
"Best friend competition." He noted. "No. Alli is a big girl, she can do what she wants." "I sense jealousy." He poked my side. "I couldn't care less." I shrugged and took a seat next to their grandpa. "You and Cody went to sleep pretty early last night." Angie said. "He was pretty much asleep when I got out the shower." "Bless." "I think he was tired." I laughed.
Cody came outside after a few minutes. He picked me up and sat on my chair before placing me on his lap. I leant against the arm of the chair and kicked my legs. "You've got wet hair." I played with it. Cody's nanna laughed at the hairstyles I was giving him.
"When does your Europian tour start?" I asked. "A week." "Where's the first date?" "Turkey." "I'd love to go to Turkey." I looked at the sky. "I'll speak to Matt." He sighed, knowing what I was hinting at. "You're a good boy, aren't you." I squeezed his cheeks. "But I'll need a reward." He whispered. I looked around to make sure no one heard him, they were all having their own conversations.
"And maybe a little persuading." "Cody!" I slapped his hand which was sliding up my leg. I noticed everyone had looked up. "Let's go inside." Cody got up and carried me inside. He put me on the floor once he'd closed the door.
"Can you be an extra-good boy and make me some food?" I sat on the counter. "What do you want?" He looked through the cupboards. "Pasta salad." I said. "Mhmm." He got out a pan and put it on the stove next to me. "You need to fill it with water first." I laughed. Cody laughed as well and filled it with water before replacing it.
"Do you wanna come for the whole tour?" He stood between my legs and rested his hands on my hips. "Don't let it end how mine did." I tapped his nose. "I promise." He kissed mine. "It's a month right?" "Almost." "I'm down." "We're gonna have some fun." He said. "We will. Is anyone interesting coming?" "Alli will meet us out there in the middle of it and I'm thinking of asking Jake to come too." "Yay! Jake!" I grinned. "I haven't seen him in ages." I pouted.
"I know, baby." "Well then he has to come." "Sure. Maybe we could have Lilly for the time Alli's out too." "Really?!" "I'm sure she'd love to come join us for a week." "Yes!" "Alright." He moved back. "When do I put the pasta in?" "Do you know anything?" I laughed. "I have a mother for a reason." He shrugged.
"When it's bubbling." "So now?" I clapped sarcastically. Cody laughed and got out the pasta. "How much?" "Are you having some too?" "Yeah." "Two handfuls." "You should be doing this for me." He said as he put it in. "Because I'm a girl? No. You should be a man and treat your woman right." I crossed one leg over the other.
Cody and I ate lunch and then he dropped me home. "Where's Cody?" Lilly appeared in front of me. "He's gone home." "Why?" "Because he has rehearsals." I pushed her to the side and went to my bedroom. I was watching TV when I remembered what Scooter had said to me so I got out my phone and dialled his his number.
"Hey, how may I help you?" He picked up on the fifth ring. "I was wondering if you had time? Maybe we could speak about the partnership." "Well I'm with Matt right now. At Cody's rehearsal." "Would you like me to come down?" "If that's alright with you." "That's fine. I'll be twenty minutes." I said. "I'll see you then. Bye!" "Bye!" I hung up and went downstairs.
"Daddy.." I sat on his lap. "May I help you?" "Can you drive me somewhere?" I batted my eyelashes and smiled innocently. "Where?" "To see Cody." "You just got back from his house!" "But I need to speak with Scooter. Cody'll drive me home." I convinced. "Get your sister, your coat and her coat." He sighed. "On it." I got up and went to find Lilly.
Dad dropped me off and then he took Lilly out somewhere. I went into the building and looked around for where to go. I finally found my way and greeted Matt with a wave. He waved me over so I came. "What's up, stranger?" "It's all good. You?" "Just fine. I hear you wanna come on tour with us?" "I doooooo." I grinned. "I thought of a better idea than the two of you put together." "What is it?" I asked.
Matt was about to tell me but then Scooter came over. "Hey, Scoot!" I smiled. "You good?" "I'm fine, thank you." He smiled back. "You wanted to speak with me?" "Yeah, can we finish this in a bit?" I looked at Matt. "Sure." "Thanks." Scooter pulled me over to the side.
"So I talked to Justin at the award show about my options and he said that you are one of the greatest men he's ever met. He had nothing but kind words for you. I spoke to Cody as well and Cody said that you're a great role model and you always know what's best in the long run. So I decided to take up the offer and ask you to be my second manager." I grinned. Scooter smiled too.
"It'll be my pleasure. We just gotta get your signature on a few things as well as Matt's and your parent's." "That's fine. Matt can figure all of that out." Scooter laughed. "Nice doing business with you." I shook his hand playfully and we both wondered back to Matt.
"What were you saying about Cody's tour?" "Right.. I know you just got off your tour like a two months ago but how would you like to be Cody's second support act?" "Really?!" I gasped. "Well it was just a thought. We'd have to talk to Cody as well and extend our show times but would you like to?" "It would be amazing!" I jumped up and down.
I heard Cody start laughing through his mic. We all looked at him. "What are you doing?" He asked me in amusement. "Keep singing, Simpson." I waved him off. He laughed and went back to talking with Andrew. I looked back at Matt and Scooter. "Do you think he'll go for it?" "Ask yourself that question. He can't be without you for much longer than a few hours." Matt laughed.
I laughed and watched Cody. He winked at me while singing. My cheeks started to heat up so I looked at the ground with a smile on my face. "What happened to never going back there then?" Matt asked. "Been asking myself that a lot." "He knows that you're capable of leaving him this time so he won't be messing you around." "I hope not." I went back to watching Cody.
Cody finished his rehearsals around seven. Yes, we were there for a very long time. "Do you want some food?" Cody asked while getting into the car. "I'm not hungry." "You haven't eaten since lunch time." "I know but I'm not really hungry." I shrugged. "What's up?" "Nothing. I'm just not hungry."
We stopped at a red light. Cody felt my forehead with the back of his hand. "Are you feeling okay?" "I'm fine." I pushed it away. "You never turn down food." "Cody, the light's green." I pointed. Cody started driving again. We sat in silence with the radio playing in the background until we got to my house.
"Do you need walking inside?" "Can you come in for a little bit?" "Sure." He smiled and got out. "You don't have to look too happy." I laughed and opened the door. "Hey!" I went into the living room. "Mom, have you been crying?" I noticed. Cody appeared in the doorway behind me. "We have some news to tell you." She said with a crackly voice. "Are you and Dad breaking up?" I looked at Trey and Cara. "I'll tell her." Trey said.
I looked at Cody, he shrugged and looked at Trey. "Cara and I have some news.." "Are you breaking up?!" "No." "Thank God." "We're having a baby!" He said with delight. My heart began to race. "Seriously?!" I almost shouted. "Yes!" "Oh my gosh!" I jumped into Trey's arms. We all traded hugs and kisses and congratulations.
"How long have you known?" I asked. "Just over a week." "And you never told me?" I looked at Cara. "I'm sorry. Trey wanted us to wait." "I'm so excited!" I jumped on the spot. "14 weeks along." She said. "We can go baby shopping and decorating and loads of things." I said. "And we can stay out the way." Trey said to Cody.
After a while of talking and things Cody and I went to my bedroom. "I don't wanna go to school tomorrow!" I moaned and fell onto my bed. "I don't want you to either!" He laid next to me. "Will you pick me up?" "I won't be a minute late." "Good." I smiled.
"I better go home." Cody looked at his watch. "No!" I rolled over and sat on him. "Come on, Lauren. You need to go to bed." "I don't." "You do." "Nope." I shook my head. "Go get in the shower." "But I want you to stay." I pouted. "Just go." He pushed me off him and sat up. "Please don't leave while I'm in there." "Get in that shower now!" He raised his voice. I giggled and ran into the bathroom.
When I got out of the shower I followed my bed time routine. Cody was laying in my bed with the fairy lights on. "You're a cutie." I crawled under the blankets. "I'm not staying all night." "Why not?" "I don't want to be woken up at six in the morning." "No one does." I said. Cody laughed and pulled my body close to his.
"It's fine. Just leave me!" I said dramatically. "You sure you don't wanna be an actress?" He moved my hair off my face. "I want you to love me all night." "I'll love you even more in my warm bed while you're getting up for school." "I hate you." "You chose to go back to high school." "I don't know why." I sighed.
"Drop it then?" "I might actually speak to Dad about it." "You're so weird." "What did I do now?" "Most people go to their mom for everything they need. They only ever go to their dad if they can't find their mom but you go to Daddy for everything." "Don't say 'Daddy', you're 17. There's no need." I put my finger on his lips. "Daddy." Cody smirked and kissed my finger.
