Chapter 7

23:17, 8 February 2020

"Is she alright!!"

"Quit shouting Iruka-sensei!!

"Naruto don't touch that!!"

Your eyebrows scrunched at the voices in the background. Your eyes fluttered open as you groaned at the bright light. "W-What.." you mumbled out.

"She's awake!" you recognized the voice. You grinned when you slowly started to make out the people standing in front of you. "Naruto you really should learn to talk a bit softer." you laughed softly trying to raise your body up.

"D-Dont get up so suddenly (Y/N)-sensei." you smiled at The pink haired female. "I'm fine Sakura, it was just a shoulder injury." She gave you a stern look. "You're really good at medical ninjutsu, why did you let it get so bad. Next time ask for help. Who knows what would have happened if Iruka hadn't found you. "

She tsked.

"Iruka.?" you muttered. Your eyes shifted, just realizing he was standing a few meters away from you bed. There was a sense of relief in his dark orbs. He gave a weak smile.

"You should have seen how frantic he was when he came in!" Naruto teased. You blushed at the statement. Sakura punched him at the back of his head. "Shut up idiot!! If you weren't making so much noise she would still be resting!!" she grabbed him by the collar dragging him out the room as he let out cries of pain.

When they were both gone, an uncomfortable silence filled the room. "How did he know where I was?" You looked over to question him. When you did, Iruka's eyes met your own. You flushed at the way he was looking at you.

"Iruk-"

"I love you." you stared at him, breath caught in your throat. Your eyes slowly started to widened as you looked at him. "W-What are you.."

"I've loved you ever since we were kids." he confessed. Your mouth closed shut.

Iruka looked down at his feet. "I should have said that to you, the day you asked me how I felt. about you. I was scared, completely terrified that you were going to say you had feelings for Kakashi. I thought that if I was protecting you by saying what I did, but in truth, I was just protecting myself. "

Your eyes shook as he continued. "I couldn't bare it if you told me that you were in love with someone else, so I rejected you before I could get hurt. I was..selfish and a coward. " He moved over to your side, getting down on his knees. His head touched the ground, bowing in front of you.

"I'm sorry for all the pain I caused you! Please accept my apology (Y/N)!!" your eyes watered at the scene. You sat up a bit straighter against the bed.

"I-I love you too Iruka, so much!!" you admitted. Iruka raised slightly, looking into your eyes. He smiled, standing up to take a seat next to you on the bed. He leaned over wiping the droplets that trailed down your cheek. "I'm relieved that your okay. You don't know how frightening it was for me seeing you like that." your hand reached up, touching his as you smile.

"I won't be reckless next time, I promise. "

"You better not." you laughed at his scolding tone that you were all to familiar with. Iruka tilted his head. "What?" he chuckled out. You shook your head. "I just...I missed hearing you lecture me like one of your students." He grinned awkwardly, scratching his head.

"A-Ah, sorry. It's a forced habit."

"It's okay, I don't mind." you were smiling from ear to ear. Iruka was really finding it hard to stand how cute you looked when you smiled. He wanted to be the one you directed that smile at all the time. Everyday...for the rest of his life.

"(Y/N)." he called.

"Hai Iruka-sensei~" you said in a sing song tone. He laughed. A few seconds passed and he looked down at his lap. "I-I know I might be too late..or you might still have a bit of anger towards me. But..if it's possible would you...looked pass that and..still be mine?" you blinked owlishly, slowly processing his words.

"Be yours..you want us to..be lovers.." you whispered out. He gave a small nod.

"I..I would love that Iruka." you looked at him teary eyed. "That's all I ever wanted." you wiped at your eyes unable to stop the tears from flowing.

"H-Hey, I didn't say it to make you cry again." you giggled. "These are happy tears." you assured.

"Well that's good." He gazed at you in adoration.

"Can you say it again.." you mumbled. Iruka shuffled closer with curious look. "Say what again?"

You blushed. "That you..love me." A bright smile graced his lips. He took both of your hands in his, staring you straight in the eyes. "I love you (Y/N)." you heart thumped in your chest. You loved hearing those words. "Again." you whispered. He leaned closer, lips ghosting over your own. He pressed his lips softly against yours. You leaned in, enjoying the sensation. He pulled back just an inch away. "I love you." he said softly.

"Again." you requested. He moved forward, arms caging you against the bed as he locked lips with you once again. Your hand reached up, gripping his jacket tightly. He was careful not to lean too much weight on you as he claimed your lips.

His hand massaged your cheeks as he deepened the kiss. You moaned softly. You always imagined what it would feel like to kiss Iruka. Now you didn't have to. You could do it whenever you wanted. When he pulled back this time, his mouth moved to you ear. "I love you. " he whispered, nibbling on your ear. You quivered, fists tightening against his clothing.

"It's about time."

You screeched at the voice behind you, pushing Iruka off of you forcefully. He fell back with a yell.

"K-Kakashi!!" you growled.

Kakashi grinned under his mask. "I was just concerned so I came to check on you. It seems you were already being taken care of. " he said with a suggestive wink. Your cheeks turned bright red.

"S-SHUT UP YOU PERVERT!!!" you grabbed the lamp from a table nearby, chugging it at him. He jumped back out the window he entered with a wave.

"Have fun~" you glowered at his tone, huffing.

Iruka was still lying on the floor rubbing his head. "I guess I sorta deserved that. " he thought to himself.

You finally looked down, flushing.

"G-Gomen.."
