Mazes of the Factory

10:04, 15 September 2017

A/N: I swear this book will be continued more often when the new Ejen Ali episodes are released, which is soon. Occasionally I will update, anyways, cuz I also got my Light Soul series to write. Thanks for staying patient with me.ย

The three agents had reached the factory via a private train. It was four hours since they've reached the factory, and it was nearly two then, and Ali was starting to get hungry.

"Not my fault you didn't bring food along." Alicia said, a look of smugness on her face as they walked to the factory, Comot trailing a foot slower behind Ali.

"Ish you. All you know to do is to judge people." Ali fumed.

Surprisingly, Alicia has gone quiet at this. He had expected for her to shove him a comeback, but she was just...silent.

"We're here." Ali said, breaking the silence.ย

The both of them stared up together, and found themselves gaping, the argument that they had just now long since forgotten. The factory, which was once seen as a small speck while they were in the train, towered high above them, with its criss-crossing pipes of many colours and the ocean splashing at its side. It was so massive that the giant shadow it casted was stretched about half a kilometre.ย

"This place is so big." Alicia remarked, eyes wide, taking in everything she could see.

"I know right," Ali agreed.ย

Comot gave a look before walking into the building, leaving the other two to investigate the place itself first. Upon setting foot in, its footsteps echoed on the thin metal bridge, the silence broken by only that sound. No one was here, perhaps they had already decided that they should leave this trouble to another's hands, perhaps they couldn't fix it.

Comot made up its mind not to camouflage, there was no one to see it anyways, and continued its adventure alone in the vast factory.

Not even realising it, Ali and Alicia had been standing rooted at the spot, still gaping at the image of the factory, for nearly five minutes.

"I think I'm done wowing. Let's go in-" Ali paused.

"What's wrong?" Alicia asked, noticing the pause in his sentence, and his look of total lost.ย

"WHERE'S COMOT?"ย

He ran about the area, looking up and down, left and right, and taking things up to see whether Comot has hidden itself in there. Alicia just stood where she was, not even registering the moans of despair from Ali, when something white came strolling out from the factory's main entrance. A cat.

"Hey, Ali. Comot's here." Alicia cupped her hands to support her sentence, and Ali looked up from looking inside a dustbin hopefully, a banana peel on his head.

Comot meowed happily, as Ali went to scoop it up into his hands and hug it.

"Gosh you had me worried sick," Ali said, looking into those blue and green eyes of it. "I don't want another episode of Labu."

Alicia made to interrupt, but found that the moment was not right, for Ali seemed momentarily sad. Instead, she went over to him, and gently put a hand on his shoulder.

"Let's go and start our mission," she said soothingly. "The General won't like it if we don't finish it on time."ย

Ali nodded solemnly, putting Comot back down, where it meowed sadly at its owner. He gave a smile at it and patted its head, before making to go into the factory. But Comot ran up to block the two's way.ย

"What is it, Comot?" Alicia asked.

It wasn't looking particularly angry, but it was looking rather smart, like it knew something they didn't. It turned its back against them and walked into the factory first, as if it was leading the way.

"Ooh, I get it." Ali said with a gasp. "Follow Comot!"

They had ran, they don't know how deep, inside the factory. But what they knew is that they took no wrong turns, and the factory was completely deserted. Not even a single person can be seen, and the smell stank very badly of rotten fish from below, from the sea of greenish spilled toxic. Ali swear, if he were to die somewhere, he would make it much more nicer smelling than this filthy toxic factory.

Comot made a turn at a junction, and the two followed carefully, keen to not slip. They were standing on a slippery, narrow metal platform, with rusted banisters on either side (by the looks of it would break with a single touch, and would be no help), which made them to be more careful not to trip or else they would fall into the pits of the bubbling toxic below.

"Are you sure its here, Comot?" Ali asked, a little terrified. He was unsure whether the directions of a cat would be precise, but this was Comot he was talking about, not some ordinary cat found by the streets.

But Comot was so focused on remembering where the leak was that it didn't seemed to have heard Ali. Alicia was analysing their surroundings with every step they took, and she didn't have much trouble trying not to slip.ย

Comot finally look back at them and meowed, indicating that they should be entering the room beside it. Ali nodded, and told Alicia.

"Comot says it's this room." he whispered to her.ย

Alicia, after giving their area a final sweep with her eyes, turned back to Ali and together, they went through the door.

It was like the factory outside, only that this one was filled with four massive jugs of green toxic, which most of them seemed to have come out of place and have flooded the few floors below in its greenish doom.ย

"Look."ย

Ali looked to where Alicia was pointing at, and realised that why the toxics were out of place was because that all of the jugs each had a part burst.ย

"What happened here..." Ali muttered.ย

He tried leaning further over the banister to see properly. But then the banister broke. And the next thing he knew, he was slipping, and was falling head first, as the sea of greenish doom came ever closer, and he came ever closer, falling to his death.
