Chapter 63

23:34, 1 October 2013

Harry's P.O.V.

"C'mon lads we were supposed to leave thirty minutes ago!" Niall shouted running around the apartment. "Louis ya look good! Stop fussin' with ya hair! Zayn y'too!"

"It's 9 in the bloody morning." Liam muttered from next to me.

"Hey in all fairness we could've been up at 6 if Louis hadn't turned off his alarm clock." I chuckled. I was lent up against the door when someone knocked on it. I stepped forward opening it to see Niall's mum.

"Mrs. Horan!" I smiled pulling her into a hug. "How are you doing on this lovely morning?"

"Good, good. I could hear my little one screaming all the way from across the hall." She laughed stepping in.

"Morning ma'!" Niall waved running past us to go drag Louis out of the bathroom. "Louis i swear t'god if ya don't hurry up!"

"I'm coming, I'm coming." Louis huffed shuffling out of the bathroom.

"Alright, quick everyone out." Niall pushed us all out and into the elevator. "We should've been there hours ago. My damn alarm clock musta broke!" He groaned as we all looked over at Louis smirking.

"Yeah, terrible." Louis mumbled throwing an arm around Niall making us all stifle our laughter.

By the time we got to the hospital it was about quarter to ten. We all followed Niall down the hall as he stuck his hands in his pockets, it was freezing in here.

"Kaylee babe!" He smiled all of us walking into the room and over to where she was sat up in bed talking to Riley.

"Hi love." I smiled standing next to her.

"Hey." She looked up at me giving me a small smile before looking back over at Kaylee who was now occupied with Niall.

"You alright? Your eyes are all red... have you been crying?" I bent down beside her and she shook her head giving me a kiss.

"I'm fine, Harry." She whispered as everyone took a seat around the room.

"We would've been here earlier but the lads couldn't get ready!" Niall groaned all of us shrugging guiltily. "And my alarm clock broke." At that Kaylee craned her neck to look over at Louis shooting him a quick wink, smart one she is.

"Oh wow." A nurse walked in stopping and looking around at the very crowded room. "Uh, sorry to interupt but I just need to check somethings." She apologized pushing past Riley and I over to the machines.

We watched as she fiddled with the machines touching different buttons, turning different notches. "So when is she going to be out?" Niall asked and the nurse turned to look at him.

"Well she's healing okay, not as fast as we would've liked so maybe 3 weeks?" She looked up from her clipboard nodding.

"But Christmas in in 2 1/2 weeks. Is there anyway she would be able to leave then and fly out somewhere?" He asked eagerly biting at his finger nails.

"Uh... I'm not sure. We would have to see how she is then and if we did allow her to leave for christmas I don't know if she'd be able to walk or be in a wheel chair or what... but we will let you know." The nurse smiled at Niall as he nodded.

She finished up a bit later leaving the room. "Do you want to go down and get some breakfast?" I asked Riley as she sat back in the chair her hands folded on her lap.

"Uh, yeah I guess." She stood up grabbing her bag telling Kaylee we would be back in a bit. We left the room, my hands stuffed into my pocket as we entered a cold hallway.

"You okay?" I asked Riley as she walked with almost  blank stare on her face.

"Yeah." She looked over giving me a pretty genuine smile. She pulled my hand out of  my pocket linking her fingers with mine as we searched for the cafeteria.

When we finally got there it wasn't that crowded, it was almost lunch time I guess. We both grabbed a muffin and a cup of coffee and I paid for us after insisting. "You're my girlfriend, I'm supposed to pay for you." I laughed as we both walked away.

"Yeah, yeah." She stuck her tongue out taking a seat across from me. I unpeeled my muffin from it's wrapper taking a big bite, these were so good.

"These are so good." Riley laughed taking another bite. I nodded agreeing as we ate our muffins in silence.

"Listen Riley, about the concert last night-"

"Harry, I get it, I know... you have to! There's a contract!" She groaned rolling her eyes.

"Yeah I know, but I have a meeting with modest today about breaking it." She looked up at me her eyes wide. "Yeah, I know that it gets you angry, you're not very good at hiding your feelings."

"I don't know what you're talking about." She sat up crossing her arms over her chest before letting out  a little giggle. "Okay fine, yes! It makes me angry but it's not my fault I'm a jealous person!" She pouted.

"I know, hey I am too, that's why I'm trying to get out of this." I chuckled. "I have a feeling it'll be easy since all of the stuff with you and I going around."

"Oh right. Well call me after the meeting and let me know what happened. I have to go shopping today for my little cousins birthday. Oh there's was something else..." She tapped her chin scrunching her nose up. "Oh right! When is your next day off?"

"Uh... I believe it's sunday, so two days." I told her blowing on my still hot coffee.

"Okay, grandma wants you to come over for dinner. It's just a bit of my family that comes over on sundays and she wanted me to ask you." She smiled eagerly.

"I'd love to come." I gave her a big cheesy grin as she clapped her hands laughing.

"Come over around hm, 5. It'd be later but it's kind of like a little birthday party for my cousin too. He's turning 6 and he's never been more excited." She laughed, her laugh was my favorite thing to hear.

"I'll be there, no worries."

X

"But I have a girlfriend, a real one." I said frustrated as I sat across from the head of modest and the woman in charge of the contract.

"Yes Harry, but does the real one give you publicity?" The woman scowled.

"No but that's not what being in a relationship is about to me! I don't care about publicity! This stupid contract is hurting my girlfriend and that's what I care about." I sat back in my chair pulling at the end of my hair.

"Too bad, you have until new years and then the contract is over, suck it up." The man said making me grow angrier.

"No, No! I'm not doing this, I'm not going along with it and you can't make me." I crossed my arms over my chest smirking.

"Harry, you have to, or else." The woman stood up slamming her hands on the desk.

"Or else what? You're going to kick me out of the band?" I laughed knowing the would never. They both looked at each other clear defeat on their faces. "Drop the contract, now."

"Fine, you got your way Styles but on one condition." The man stood up taking his glasses of and placing them on the table. I crossed my arms and cocked my head waiting for the answer. "You have to take this new girlfriend everywhere and make sure she's completely idiolized by your fans, make sure she's kind make sure they get pictures of you guys being cute make sure you look like the perfect couple. If she's not bringing in money then she has to bring in perfection, got it?"

"Yes sir." I grinned clapping my hands together.

"Take her home for christmas... uhm, we need to make sure you look like a power couple." He tapped his chin looking over at the lady as she sat back down in the chair.

"You've got a 6 month break off of tour after christmas meaning you'll be living in your flat, take her. It'll give people things to talk about, asking if you're moving too fast but show them that you aren't." She sighed folding up a piece of paper from off the desk.

"Well don't you think I should talk to he-"

"No, just do what we say and do it well. We need to make you the power couple of the world so all the focus is on you which means it's on the band." The man and woman held a big grin of accomplishments on their faces.

"Alright, deal." I sighed. There were a lot of problems with this deal but at least Taylors gone and Riley's all mine.

X

I checked my appearance nervously in the mirror as I sat in front of Riley's house. It was the night of the family dinner she had invited me too and it was going to be a lot more than her sweet grandma and I had to tell her everything they told me at the meeting.

Deep breath Harry.

I reached into the back seat grabbing the present I had got her little cousin. I wasn't sure what he liked or even his name but I wanted to be nice, after all this is his party.

I stepped out the car the air nipping at my uncovered ears. I had wore my hair down today other than the usual swoop up, it makes me look a bit younger yet more mature.

I knocked on the door stepping back as I waited for someone to answer. I noticed a lot of cars on the street, Riley never mentioned how mig her family was.

I heard the door open and turned around to see a man, maybe in his late 50's or so. "Hello, can I help you?"

"Oh uh, I uhm, I'm Harry, Riley's boyfriend." I sputtered out nervously. Get a grip!

"Oh Harry! Hello! I've heard a shit ton about ya." He chuckled stepping to the side as I walked in. "I'm Riley's grandpa, call me Harvey." He smiled giving my hand a firm shake. "I believe Riley's in the kitchen helping out her grandma go on."

"Thank you sir." I smiled politely. I was not expecting him to answer the door... Oh god my face is probably so red.

I walked down the hall and could hear lots of talking from in the kitchen and living room. When I walked into the kitchen there was about 4 or 5 people rushing around and grabbing things. I noticed Riley sitting by the garbage peeling the corn on a cob.

I walked up behind her placing the gift under my arm covering her eyes with my cold hands, oops.

"Hey Harry." She laughed turning around.

"How did you know it was me?" I gasped as she stood up rolling her eyes.

"Who else has hands that big?" She smirked, "C'mon let's go see what the kids are doing." She grabbed my hand pulling me out of the kitchen toward the living room.

"Oh hi Harry!" Her grandma called as she closed the fridge door smiling at me.

"Hello!" I smiled back waving. I heard her go on whispering about Riley and I to the other woman in the kitchen.

"Hey guys, uhm this is Harry." Riley smiled at the room of people sitting around the couch. There were 4 little kids sitting on the floor throwing foam blocks at each other.

"Hello Harry." Everyone chorused back to which I gave a genuine smile.

"That's ya boyfriend!?" An old lady sitting in the single chair shouted quite loudly.

"Yes mimi." She giggled looking over at you. "That's my great grandma, she's old and doesn't know what's going on ever." She whispered to me.

"Hey, how did you get that big?" I looked down to see a little boy tugging on my shirt.

"Uh, I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables." I chuckled sitting down on the floor next to Riley.

"So you're telling me if I do that I'll be just as tall?" The little kid replied stanidng in front of me now eye level.

"This is Ian he's 5 and doesn't stop asking questions, that's Jason and Kylie they're 8 year old twins and that little guy is benny he's the birthday boy." She pointed to each little kid. "Benny come here!"

The little boy looked up and my god I had never seen such a pale blue in someones eyes, they were gorgeous. He had this really blonde curly hair and wore these tiny glasses, so cute.

"Sup Riley?" He grinned making sure to show off his missing tooth.

"This is Harry, the one that lives in England." She smiled and he looked over at me takiing a seat right in my lap.

"Hello Harry, I'm Benny. It's my birthday today."

"Hi Benny, Happy birthday to you." I laughed as he pushed up his glasses.

"Thanks, now boy do I have a lot of questions for you!" He clapped his hands looking up at me, oh god.

~

"So Harry you're in that boyband?" Riley's Grandpa asked as we finished up dinner.

"Mhm yeah, it's great." I smiled wiping at the corners of my mouth.

"Must be hard yeah?" He laughed as I nodded looking over at Riley.

"It's far from easy but it's something I've always wanted to do and I'm living my dream so it's worth it." I shrugged. "But I think the worst part is being away from home for so long.."

"Oh I know how that feels, I was in the Navy!" Riley rolled her eyes sighing, I guess this meant story time...

"Harry dear, why don't you help clear the table." Her grandma cut her grandpa off as she stood up. I nodded taking what I could and brought it into the kitchen as everyone else went into the other room.

"You're family is nice." I nudged Riley as she placed a few dishes into the dishwasher. She just laughed turing around to clear the rest of the table.

After we were finished everyone went to the living room so Benny could open his presents. He sat down a huge grin on his face as we all got settled in.

Riley's grandma handed him present after present finally getting to mine. "From Harry." He read ripping open the wrapping paper. "Oh my goodness! No way! Mom it's the monsterville lego castle mega set I wanted!" He gasped his mouth wide open.

"Look at that benny!" She smiled happily as he stood up running over to me and jumping on my lap.

"Thanks so much Harry, this is what I wanted since forever!" He grinned jumping off and going back over to the box.

"Harry.... wasn't that expensive?" Riley looked over at me frowning slightly.

"Don't worry about it, it looked cool so I just got it." I whispered brushing off the topic. It wasn't cheap, try around 300 dollars, but it was cool so who cares! She sighed sitting back up as he finished opening the presents.

"Riley dear, come help me with the cake." Her grandma called her over and she nodded getting up. I sat there as he finished opening the last of his presents a smile never leaving his face.

"Cake time!" Riley screamed making all the kids get up and run past the adults into the dining room. I chuckled getting up and making my way to the dining room.

"Uh Harry." A woman stopped me maybe in her late 20's, she had long brown highlighted hair and very freckly skin.

"Hi." I greeted her stopping in my tracks.

"I'm Benny's mom and uh I just wanted to say thank you so much, he's wanted that forever but it just wasn't in my budget, I couldn't afford it. Thank you." She smiled pulling me into a hug. "But maybe I should give you some money, how about half?"

"It's fine really, money isn't an issue. Just happy that he liked it so much." I smiled as we walked to the kitchen.

"You're a good kid, I aproove." She laughed patting me on the back.

Once we were finished eating everyone started to leave slowly until it was just me left. "Uh Riley can I talk to you outside?"

"Yeah sure." She smiled as we walked out front onto the steps. "What's up?"

"I got the contract lifted."
