Chapter 29

23:49, 6 March 2013

“Oh my baby, have a safe trip.” My mum cooed wrapping me up in a tight hug.

“I will Mum, I’ll miss you.” I sighed hugging her back. “Call me whenever you want, love you.”

“Love you too.” She whispered and I pulled back looking at her. “I’m not going to cry this time.” She laughed lightly biting her lip before pulling me back into a hug.

“It’s okay mum, but we really have to get going.”

“Right! Right! Bye Kaylee, please come back sometime, it was a pleasure having you.” My mom smiled walking over to Kaylee and hugging her. Over the past few days my mum and Kaylee got really close, like really close.

I mean Kaylee didn’t have much a mother figure in her life and my mum never had a daughter so it was bound to happen.

“I will, thank you for having me.” Kaylee giggled as my mum rocked her back and forth in a hug.

“Yes, well alright get going! Don’t want you to be late! Call me when you two land! And Niall take care of Kaylee, she’s a keeper!” My mum called as we walked down the path sending a wink in my direction.

“Mum!” I shouted back, cheeks heating up. “I will!” I replied a bit later smiling over at Kaylee making her blush.

As we pulled up to the airport of course it was mobbed with fans, why wouldn’t it be? At least this time there was security and baracades.

“Ready Kayls?” I asked her as she bit her lip looking out the window. I could sense her nervousness, after all the last time she was in this situation she was cut and had her hair pulled.

“I- uh yeah.” She mumbled and I stepped out of the car turning around to get Kaylee.

“Kaylee, c’mon we’re going to miss our flight.” I told her and she nodded hesitantly stepping down from the car. She immediately grabbed onto my arm as we walked forward toward the entrance.

This time it was much easier, no injuries or anything, thank god. Kaylee let out a deep breath and looked up at me and smiled.

“Alright so your flight is going back to New Jersey because you start school tomorrow but I’m taking the flight out to California where the boys are.” I told her as we walked up to security.

“Wait you mean we’re not on the same flight?” She questioned looking up at me. I nodded and left her side, walking through the security.

She followed shortly behind running up to me. “But Niall I don’t know how to do all this airport stuff! I’ll get lost or die or something.” She explained frantically as we kept walking.

“Kaylee calm down, fine. I’ll take the flight to New Jersey with you and then find one out to California, don’t worry love.” I smiled slinging my arm over her shoulder. She leaned into me sighing, she was so cute.

We went through the same thing, with the getting onto the plane and finding our seats. The lift off was easy as well as the landing. It wasn’t exactly the easiest to get Kaylee up but I managed.

“Alright Kaylee you can take it from here?” I asked her as we stepped off the plain. She nodded her head lazily before she yawned.

“Niall when am I going to see you guys again?” She asked me, her lips pouting.

“Uh I don’t know, I promise we’ll arrange something…. You go on February break for school right?”

“Yeah why?”

“Because we can fly you out to wherever we are for that week so you don’t have to spend it alone, sound good?” I asked her and she smiled nodding.

“Bye Niall, I’ll miss you. Tell the boys I said hi and I’ll see them soon!” She ran up to me and grabbed me into a tight hug.

“Alright Kaylee, will do. I’ll call you when I can, bye love.” She pulled back and looked up at me. For a minute we just stood there staring at each other.

I could tell she was contemplating the same thing as we, a kiss. Just one sweet kiss.

“Uh alright bye.” She smiled weakly before turning around.

No, I need it. Her lips were so addictive. They were so soft and felt like heaven on my own. And going w whole month and a half without them? I don’t think so. I ran up to her and grabbed her wrist spinning her to face me. Her lips parted as if to say something but I didn’t give her the time of day.

I pressed mine to hers and I felt her lips curl up into a smile. It was a sweet kiss, nothing more and nothing less. “Goodbye Kayls.” I grinned resting my forehead on hers.

“Bye Ni.” She smiled biting her lip. She stepped back and turned around walking off toward baggage claim.

The only thing on my mind was how much longer until she’s mine.

**

Kaylee’s P.O.V.

It’s been a week since I’ve been back. School has been absolute hell. There were pictures everywhere of Niall and I in Ireland and at the airport… yes the airport. I don’t know how they got that picture but they did. There was constantly people asking if that was really me or if they could get one of the boys numbers.

It was irritating.

But only a few more weeks till winter break, and I couldn’t wait.

“Kaylee wait up!” I spun around to see Jonathan walking toward me.

“Hey Jonathan, what’s up?” I questioned as he stepped into foot with me catching his breath.

“Nothing really, wanted to know if you wanted to come for some lunch in the food court with me?” He smiled and I nodded. We quickly stopped at my locker and I put all my stuff away.

It’s nice just being friends with Jonathan again. I missed these days.

By the time we got to the food court it was packed. There were people everywhere, the atmosphere of it being Friday evident. Jonathan and I got on line and both got out nasty school lunches before finding a table towards the back of the caf. I still hate that Riley doesn’t have this lunch period, it would be so much better.

“So what’s new?” He asked as I poked at the gross mystery meat on my plate.

“Nothing really, thankful that it’s Friday. It’s been hell this week.” I sighed looking up at him.

“Yeah, I’ve heard… I’m sorry but it’s okay, don’t worry about it.” Jonathan winked eating his food like it was the most delicious thing ever. I cringed at how he ate it so effortlessly.

“Whore.” Someone coughed and I turned around to see a table of people laughing. “Slut.” Another person coughed.

I clenched my fists together. This was the other thing. The girls, the rude ones, who aimed to hurt me because they know they could.

“Look at her. Poor little Kaylee running back to her ex after super star Niall Horan used and dumped her.” One girl sneered at me. I hated that. If I had a dollar for every time that simple sentence has been said to me with in the last week I’d be richer than anyone.

“Is Kaylee going to cry?” Another girl fake pouted. “Going to run home and tell daddy. Cry to daddy about your problems.” She teased. I squeezed my eyes shut and looked up at Jonathan, his mouth held in a tight line clearly upset.

Without thinking I stood up and stalked over to the girl. “Can I help you?” She laughed crossing her arms.

“No but I can help you with keeping your mouth shut.” I growled before my fist hit her jaw. She stumbled back holding it. “And for your information, my dad is DEAD.” I shouted before turning and grabbing my bag, running out of the food court.

“Kaylee!” I turned around to see Jonathan running toward me. I stopped for a second to catch my breath and he brought me into a hug. “Shhh, it’s okay.” He whispered holding me close to his chest.

“No it’s not! Jonathan that was not okay! Don’t tell me it is okay!” I yelled stepping back, hot tears streaming down my face. “There a bunch of bitches who need to burn in hell!”

“Kaylee, quiet down…” He said in a hushed tone walking up to me and grabbing my arms.

“No, I won’t! I’m leaving, I don’t want to be here anymore!” I tore my arms away from him and turned around.

“Kaylee where are you going?” He called after me. I took in a breath and turned around.

“Back to the boys.”
