Chapter 62 ( short )

( A/n: Part 2 of Defiant One )

Alpha was watching Snotlout, Hiccup, and Toothless from behind a rock, as the three had crash landed on the island.

Hiccup got up and started looking for Toothless and Snotlout.

Hiccup: Toothless? Where are you? Snotlout?

Hiccup then sees Toothless on the ground, and ran to him.

Hiccup: Toothless!

Toothless slowly got up.

Hiccup: Are you okay? Ah. Come on, talk to me, bud.

Toothless licks Hiccup in response, telling his rider that he was okay.

Hiccup: Oh, thank Thor. That wasn't our best landing was it, was it? ( Looks at Toothless's now destroyed tail ) Great. Your tail is gone, and the connecting rod is a mess! What are we supposed to do now?

Snotlout: You can start by getting me out of this stupid tree!

Hiccup and Toothless looked up and saw that Snotlout was stuck in a branch of a tree, the branch then broke and he fell to the ground.

Hiccup: ( winced ) Well, that looked like it hurt.

Snotlout laid on the ground and shook his head.

Hiccup: You sure? Can you talk?

Snotlout: Go...suck...rocks.

Hiccup: Hey, he's back! Lucky us. Hey, where's Hookfang?

Snotlout quickly got up and started looking for his dragon.

Snotlout: Hookfang! Hookfang, where are you? Hookfang, you get over here right now! Hookfang! Hookie? Fangster?

Hiccup: I don't think he's here, Snotlout.

Snotlout: Obviously! Pig-headed dragon.

Hiccup: Don't worry. We'll find him. Now all we have to do...

As Hiccup talked, and Snotlout complained about being hungry, Alpha smelled the scent of food, and saw that Snotlout had a biscuit in his hand. Alpha then ran out of hiding and started running towards the two arguing viking teens.

Snotlout: ... It even got a little spot of mold right-

A red and blue blurr ran by and took the biscuit from Snotlout's hand.

Snotlout: Hey!-

Hiccup and Snotlout looked at the small scary looking dragon that had stolen the biscuit with shock, while Toothless growled at it as the dragon stood on a high rock with the biscuit in his mouth and he was glaring down at them.

Alpha glares down at them with the biscuit in his mouth, as he was daring them to try to take the biscuit back from him.

Snotlout: Huh, Hiccup. What is that thing-

Alpha growled at Snotlout for calling him a thing, and Hiccup tried to calm him down.

Hiccup: ( calmly, to the small dragon: ) It's okay. We're friends...

Hiccup then held out his hand to Alpha and turned his head away, Alpha looked at Hiccup with curiosity, before he jumped off the rock. Toothless hesitantly steps aside to let Alpha go to Hiccup. Alpha then touched Hiccup's palm with his head with a silent purr, but he didn't drop the biscuit. Hiccup then smiled at the small dragon.

Hiccup: That's right, friends.

Snotlout: Great. Now that you became best friends with him, make him give me back my biscuit-

Alpha growled and pointed his stinger at Snotlout, it was only a few inches from his face.

Snotlout: ( raised his hands up in surrender ) ( a bit scared ) Okay. You can have it. I was never a fan of biscuits anyway.

Alpha then pulled his stinger away from Snotlout with a slight smile on his face. Alpha then noticed that Hiccup had a scent of something that smelled similar to Mistake's scent, but the scent belonged to something bigger and older, this made Alpha assume that Hiccup was like the young Scalewalker, and he grabbed Hiccup by the back of his shirt with his stinger, but Alpha was careful enough to not accidentally sting the viking, and began dragging him, Snotlout and Toothless quickly began running after them.

Snotlout: Hiccup! Where are you going?!

Hiccup: I have no idea!!
