09 ~ Wasn't Fake Fully

15:27, 1 July 2021

Sumedh took Madhi to his private cabin in the canteen. Mallika followed them both. Madhi looked at them both confusedly about what was happening. At the same time, her eyes twinkled with the hope that the words she heard from Sumedh could be true.

Sumedh sat on the couch with Pari in his lap. Mallika stood near the table, keeping her distance from them both. Though it angered Sumedh, he ignored that for the time being.

He smiled at Madhi before kissing her forehead.

"So, what my girl want? Ice cream and Chai, then?" He asked while turn on the intercom to order.

"I want an explanation." She looked at him with hope.

"That I will give. But before that Ice cream and chai as promised for my angel." He kissed her cheeks and ordered Mallika and Madhi's favourite peach ice cream for them three along with two cups of chai.

Madhi looked at Mallika and gestured her to come to her, "Mummy, come and sit here."

She showed the place near Sumedh. Mallika looked at Sumedh, who was ignoring her completely. She sighed and walked towards them and sat beside him hesitatingly.

"Mumma, you had said that dad was no more, right? Then how come Uncle will be my Dad?" She asked Mallika impatiently.

"That..." Sumedh cut Mallika off and replied, "That I will tell, Princess."

Just then the canteen worker knocked on his cabin with the refreshments.

"Come in," Sumedh said authoritatively. He came inside and served them the ice creams and hot chai before leaving.

"My ice cream and chai!" Madhi clapped her little palms, looking at them.

"Do you like Chai, baby?" Sumedh asked and already he was on the verge of tears.

"I love it, Uncle." He pouted hearing her, "Call me Dad."

"Okay, but..." She glanced at Mallika hesitatingly. Mallika smiled at her and blinked her eyes, "He is your dad."

"Then okay, Dad! I got my daddy!!" She jumped on Sumedh's lap in happiness. Sumedh smiled at his princess and held her waist safely so that she wouldn't fall while jumping.

"Madhi, stop. It will hurt him." Mallika tried to stop her but Sumedh restricted her, "Let my daughter enjoy. I am fine. This is a blessing from God. I am so lucky."

He got up along with Madhi and twirled her in the air. Both giggled and enjoyed their evening with their favourite ice cream and chai.

Mallika kept her chin on her palm, which was resting on her knees. She adored them both. Two angels and kids in her life.

"At least, say now, dad. Why did Mumma say that? Why didn't you come to see me these many years?" Madhi asked him once they completed their ice cream and chai.

"Yes, come!" He picked her up in his arms and walked towards the window. He opened the curtains and a beautiful flower garden, which was near one acre.

Madhi opened her mouth in awe. Sumedh kissed her cheeks and started telling her, "So, while you were in your mumma's tummy, daddy had got an emergency call from the office. Though I didn't wish to leave you and your Mumma, I had to go. When I had gone out, unexpectedly there was a terrorist attack."

His baby opened her mouth in fear and hugged her father tightly as if she was feeling surreal to see him now and he would disappear the next second.

Sumedh smiled and rubbed her back, leaning against the window sill.

"Then daddy somehow lost my way due to terrorist attack everywhere. I was afraid of your safety. So, I drove rashly and lost the balance of my car. It fell into the valley. I didn't know what had happened to me. When I woke up from the coma, it had been one month since that accident. I rushed to see you and Mumma, but she had left India, as she didn't wish to be in the place, where I wasn't. I had tried to get to you guys in so many ways. But I couldn't. Finally, I saw your Mumma yesterday and today my princess is back to me."

He hugged Madhi more, as he couldn't control his tears. Whatever he cooked up to make Madhi accept him as her dad, totally wasn't a fake story. Indeed he had searched for them both just like a mad in the streets of India years back.

"You might have missed us so much, daddy." Madhi patted his back like a mother, who console her child.

"A lot! I had so many sleepless nights until I saw your Mumma yesterday. My soul came to my body just yesterday after six freaking years. I missed you both like my breath. It was suffocating. Now, I got my oxygen. No one can be happier than me right at this moment." He wept like a kid, which made tears escape Mallika's eyes.

She rushed to them both and wrapped her arms around them both. Sumedh wrapped one arm around Mallika's shoulder and kissed her forehead.

"Daddy, don't cry. Now, we both are here, right? We will never leave you." Madhi kissed Sumedh's cheeks infinite times, making him smile.

Mallika chuckled with tears, seeing her daughter's love for her newly found dad.

"Daddy, then hereafter Mumma can wear that black chain, which married woman's wear, right?" Madhi had heard a lot from their Indian neighbours in London about Mangalsutra and sindhoor when they all asked Mallika about that.

Though she couldn't understand much about it, as no one said anything to her about that directly, she understood that was supposed to wear by a married woman, who has a husband. She wished to see Mallika with that now.

"Of course, Madhi. I will make your Mumma wear that and sindhoor very soon. Till then we will keep this secret of me, as your dad from others. Pakka?" He showed his pinky finger to Madhi.

She locked her pinky finger with his and nodded her head, "Pakka."

Sumedh hugged her once again and looked at Mallika, who was blushing at his words. He adored her blushing cheeks and kissed them.
