Chapter 14

"That will be 10 bits please," Harvest explained, handing Cheddar a basket of apples.

"Here you go! Thanks Harvest, we'll be sure to send you some apple cheesecake!" Cherry replied, handing her friend 10 gold coins.

"I'll be looking forward!" Laughed Harvest weakly.

"Oh, guess what? We broke the fourth wall again, and we saw a human writing a story." Cherry babbled, obviously on a sugar rush.

"Well, I'd love to talk, but I have other customers. " Harvest said apologetically. Even after being friends with them for years, he still didn't fully understand this 'fourth wall' of theirs.

"Wait a minute!" Cheddar cried, inspecting Harvest's smile carefully. "Sis, this smile is.......FAKE!"

Cherry gasped dramatically, speeding to Harvest's side. "It's true!"

After several minutes of questions, the twins arrived to a conclusion.

"Okie dokie lokie, you miss Gala, causing you to go all sad....correct?" Cherry asked, flicking through a notebook.

Harvest nodded sadly.

"Diagnosis is.....Cherry and Cheddar special apple marathon!" Cheddar cried, pulling Harvest to the nearest tree. "First, an apple bucking race between you and me!"

"This is gonna be a long day.." Harvest mumbled, raising his hind legs systematically.

Harvest took it back. He hadn't had this much fun since Gala left!

"Our work here is done.." Cheddar whispered, galloping away happily.

"See ya soon, Harvest!" Cherry smiled, trotting alongside her brother.

Unbeknownst of the pair and the ponies around them, from Cheddar's chest pulsed a spoon-shaped orange-pink light; from Cherry's came a cherry-shaped light of the same colour.

"Mum, Dad, we're home!"
