Chapter 3

It wasn't such a bad idea to date Riley's uncle , he's only 2 years older than i was and a real man of attractiveness . Me and Riley could end up being related , somehow .

At lunch , the three of us : me , Lucas and Farkle were sitting at our regular table . Riley was back in class talking to her father so we went ahead first with out lunch . We were planning on doing something special for this year's thanksgiving so we could show our appreciation to the Matthews family for having us every year and always making our thanksgiving memorable and special . Except Lucas of course , he's new to celebrating thanksgiving with us but theres nothing wrong with him joining in .

"So smart brain and sundance , what've you got for this meeting ?" I asked

"How about we buy them gifts ?" Lucas suggested

"How about we celebrate christmas on thanksgiving instead" I scoffed

"Expensive gifts isn't going to show our full on appreciation , we might as well give them their christmas presents if thats to happen" I added .

Lucas gave an annoyed look and i smirked at him . We disagree with each other on most things and fight all the time - with words of mockery and hatred . If was pretty normal and we both take it as jokes .

"We need something big . I'm talking BIG guys , really BIG . Something unexpected ." Farkle cut in .

"Farkle's right" I said

"Why not we plan this year's thanksgiving ? We cook , we clean , we take control . Mrs Matthews won't have to break a sweat this year ."

"I like that !" Farkle immediately responded

"..And how do we do that ?" Lucas asked

"We can cook the meals at Farkle's house on Thanksgiving morning..." I said

"..But Mrs Matthews would be cooking too at the same time." Farkle interrupted

"Your dad" I suddenly lit up

"My dad ?" Farkle asked looking confused

I had an idea to get Mrs Matthews busy on Thanksgiving so that she wouldn't have the time to cook for all of us . Farkle's dad is a mastermind at coming up with things , so if we could get him to come up with a brilliant excuse to get Mrs Matthews back in her office , it would be amazing . Then we'll get Lucas to bring Riley somewhere while me and Farkle get busy in the kitchen with the turkey . While all that is happening , we'll tell Mr Matthews that we need new boardgames to play with after the dinner so that'll make him go out to the store and get some . So while everyone is gone except Auggie who will be with us at home , we'll have all the time to prepare .

I raised my eyebrows at the two of them and smiled like any brilliant mastermind would . The two of them looked at each other confusingly then their eyes were back on me .

I told them my plan and immediately their faces lit up with excitement .

"Thats amazing Maya" Lucas exclaimed

"I've never been so attracted to you" Farkle said

"We're in !" they both exclaimed at the same time .

We high-fived each other just as Riley came walking towards us .

"In on what guys ?" She asked cheerily

"Oh you know .. In on coming to thanksgiving at your place" I tried to sound convincing

"Yay and thanks for wanting to join us this year Lucas" Riley said brightly

Lucas smiled and looked down at his food . He was blushing of course . Both of them were . I stuck my tongue out and pretended i was choking .

"eurghh !"

"You mean Ranger Rick here is gonna be with us for thanksgiving EVERY year ?" I added sounding annoyed .

"Oh Maya , not only that , i'll be sitting behind you for the next 3 years" he leered .

I gave him a sullen look that made him threw his head back laughing like a little kid with exultant joy .
