Chapter 29: Finally Home

03:18, 23 May 2016

I felt as if Cuday had crushed the old me and created a completely different person. Everything about me felt completely different.

3rd POV

A tall and unhealthily thin figure made her way out of the building that held her captive for three entire years.

Every shaky step she took caused a change in her appearance. Soon her dark black hair was replaced with silky white hair and her ocean blue eyes with a pair of ruby red ones.

She strongly resembled both her parents, having a feature from both. She now looked like them in two completely different forms, one being unknown to her.

Nanami POV

For some reason as soon as I saw one of the men that tortured me I couldn't stop the rage that filled inside of me. I launched myself at him and began clawing at him. He desperately tried to get me off as he shouted for help.

Soon all the other men came in and began to throw hits at me, some successfully hurting me.

I got into a semi-kneeling position that allowed me to launch myself at the men.

With a bleeding forehead and blood dripping from the side of my mouth I gave them a wicked smile.

The events that followed were a blur.

I stood up off the ground, holding the side of my head in an attempt to stop my pulsing headache. Looking around me I saw the bodies of my torturers and a little up ahead another body, It was impossible to recognize these bodies.

"Who did all of this?"

"You did."

'How could I possibly have done this. I couldn't possibly dismember every limb of their bodies and leave this obscene sight.'

Although I had that thought I felt as if I were indeed capable of doing it, I knew deep down that it really was me who did all of this. There was more than enough evidence to prove it.

My condition wasn't the best, it consists of a dislocated left foot and arm, a severe amount of blood loss and a long period of no food consumption which comes with it's own problems.

With all the energy I could muster I took my first step toward the body that laid farther from the rest.

Once I was at arms reach I was able to conclude it was a man, but not just any man, it was the poor excuse of a man that made a misery out of the lives of my family. Out of the lives of the villagers from the Seventh Sea.

He had it a lot worse compared to the others seeing as I had a much more difficult time concluding who he was.

It seems that after all, I finally did avenge the fallen villagers.

Not bothering to remember what happened I made my way to the place I was being kept from.

I'm going home.

Ever so slowly I approached the gates I longed to see.

I was surprised to see Izumo and Kotetsu as the guards. They always struck me as the type to enroll into the Anbu and become captain's to their own team.

With a smile practically stitched to my face I walked to them as slowly as I could to avoid hurting myself even more.

"State your name and business!" Commanded Izumo.

"I am Nanami ...and well I've returned."

I saw both of their eyes widen in surprise as they eyed me up and down.

"Nanami died six years ago..." Announced Kotetsu.

'They believe I died. How did everyone handle it?'

Izumo noticed my worried expression and my oddly pale skin as he added something to Kotetsu's previous statement.

"...Or so we thought."

"I need...to go...to the...hospital."

"Yes you do, immediately. Kotetsu go inform the Hokage of her return as I take her to the hospital."

With a nod in understanding Kotetsu headed for the Hokage.

"Izumo...do me a...huge favor...before.. I black out..."

"What is it?"

"Please tell...the doctor...I wish...to have...no visitors..for as long...as I need..to stay there.."

I barely managed to finish my sentence before I passed out into Izumo's outstretched arms.

3rd POV

With Nanami's collapsed figure in arms Izumo entered the hospital. He was completely worried for her well-being since he saw her extremely bad condition and knew that for a twenty-six year old woman it was unhealthy to weigh like a seven year old.

He informed the doctor of her request as she was taken into a private room to have her injuries treated.

Kotetsu urgently knocked at the Hokage's door and immediately entered once told to do so. Inside along with Hiruzen stood Asuma, Kurenai, and Guy.

"It's Nanami...she has returned. She..is in bad...condition and is currently...in the hospital."

Hearing "Nanami" and "returned" in the same sentence brought a ton of different emotions to everyone that stood inside of the office.

Hiruzen stood without saying a word and urgently headed for the hospital.

Asuma ran after him as well as Kurenai and Guy. They all felt a thousand different feelings, but the one they all shared was happiness.

Hiruzen was angered to not have authorization to see Nanami at his arrival.

"I apologize Lord Third, but it was her request before she fell unconscious."

Not knowing what else to do they all returned to Hiruzen's office in disappointment.

"How do we tell Naruto? What about Kakashi?" Questioned Guy.

"I'll have to explain the situation with Naruto, to Nanami as for Kakashi I don't think there is a way to convince him that Asuma was simply lying, to keep him from chasing after Nanami."

Everyone turned to Asuma for an explanation.

"The day Nanami left the village I ran into Kakashi."

Nine years ago Asuma POV

"Nanami has left the village, we need to get her back!"

'So today was the day she'd leave. Didn't even bother to say goodbye huh?'

I shook my head in disappointment as I turned in Kakashi's direction to speak to him.

'In order for him to leave Nanami with an ensured safe return I'd need to lie to him. Forgive me Kakashi, Nanami.'

"She didn't tell you why she's leaving?"

"No, she just fought me away and disappeared."

"She left because she's tired.."

He looked pained and what I had coming next hurt too much for me to say without breaking down myself at the horrible lie.

"..she's tired of hearing all the things people consider her out loud. She's tired of being an outcast and worst of all...she's tired of you. She can't keep lying to you Kakashi. She can't tell you she has forgiven you for the death of Obito and Rin, when that's the last thing she'll ever do in life. She has truly hated you and probably will until her very last breath."

End of flashback

"Ever since that day, Kakashi developed a hatred toward Nanami and due to his hatred he didn't show up to her funeral. It's as if he could care less about her and it's all my fault. I ruined the happiness of a great friend and my very own sister."
