Janet

"So?" I asked when Kyrin excused herself to the restroom.

"Yeah."

"She's the one."

"Tito likes her."

I looked at Tito when Marlon said that. "You like her?"

He nodded slowly. "I actually do. I didn't get a bad feeling about her. I see her being your last girlfriend."

"Daddy wouldn't like it." Latoya commented lowly.

Randy replied to her. "Too bad he's dead, huh?"

"Randy!" We all yelled.

He shrugged. "It's true. What? Too soon?"

"Yes." Rebbie replied.

"Whatever, he been gone for months now. Long live Joseph. Holy Grail." He rolled his eyes. "Now look, I feel like Mike would approve. Jackson's?"

"Agreed." They all answered.

I smiled at them. "Good. I wanted you all to actually meet her and get to know her a little better."

My phone buzzed and I pulled it out just to find it was Kyrin's. She had a few messages from her sisters. I unlocked it and read them.

Sisters III Ember ✨Reschedule for tomorrow! Something came up.

Sisters III Phoebe ❤️Oh bitch, I was on my fucking way!

Sisters III Ember ✨Sorry! Kyrin, that's cool?

I scrolled up and saw that they were supposed to be meeting at the park. Excusing myself from the living room, I walked up the steps and towards the restroom we sent Kyrin to. She was coming out when she saw me and smiled.

Handing her the phone, I spoke. "Why didn't you tell me you had somewhere to go? We could have did this another day."

"Ah, it's alright. I actually forgot." She waved it off as she texted back. "See she rescheduled anyways. Hey, I have to go with Phoebe out of town Friday night, but I should be back before Saturday."

"Okay, where you two going?"

"A club..." She mumbled.

I side eyed her. "Why?"

"I don't know. Phoebe just instructed me to ride to the club with her."

"Kyrin..." I called out in a warning voice as I began walking down the steps and she followed. "Don't make me come down there. Alright?"

"You know I wouldn't do that."

Correcting her thoughts, I clarified. "Oh, it's not you I'm worried about."

Kyrin laughed. "I'll wear my hoe blockers babe, I'll be alright."

"Then I see no problem with it." I replied as we walked back into the living room.

She nodded softly as my siblings looked up at us as we came down. Randy spoke. "Momma kicking us out."

"Correction, momma kicking Randy out." Marlon elaborated. "He decided to horse play, and broke momma favorite vase."

I rolled my eyes. "Randy, momma gone mess you up one day. Stop breaking her stuff!"

"And it was the one Joe brought her." Latoya messy ass added in.

"Well, it's not like he's here to buy her another one!" Randy pointed out.

We all yelled out. "Randy!"

"How much have you broken before Randy?" My girlfriend asked him.

Randy smiled at her. "Why, I am so glad you asked me that, my dear sister in law."

Everyone inhaled sharply as we grumbled our comments. "Here he go."

"This dude irks my damn nerves."

"I'm sorry, but he been doing this shit for too long."

"Sister in law, my ass. Kyrin probably don't even like him."

Randy turned to all of us and smacked his lips. "All of you can shut up! Okay sister in law, I broke a glass table when we were on tour once."

"Uh, ask him how." Marlon pointed out.

"I was dancing on it. Joe beat me after that." Randy wiped a fake tear.

"Hey, did you guys see Micheal's child saying--?" Jackie brought it up to be cut off by Marlon.

"Hell, which one? Blanket, Prince, or the one we barely claim now?"

I chuckled to myself at them. Tito pointed out. "Them kids child, you must be talking about Blanket ass telling the world Joe never beat us."

"Joe never beat us?" Rebbie asked in confusion.

"Like his ass was running from the damn extension cords. Blanket don't know shit." Randy muttered.

Shaking my head at them, Latoya nodded. "Now, I think we can all agree that Blanket knows more than Paris."

"Oh no!" I exclaimed. "Don't talk about your favorite niece now. Paris is your bestie remember?"

"You're just mad because you and her don't get along. Maybe its the kid aspect, I don't think kids are your biggest fans." She snapped.

"Whatever, I mess with everybody else except that bad attitude having little girl." I mumbled back.

"Sure you do." Letoya muttered back.

Kyrin came and sat between Rebbie and I on the couch. "How long have you two been throwing jabs at each other?"

Latoya answered her. "Let Janet tell it, and it's been since she was born, but truthfully she didn't become my biggest hater til she was 12."

"Biggest hater?" I scoffed. "Name one hit by you and I'll leave this conversation alone."

Everyone got quiet and waited for Latoya to answer. Finally she got irritated and began naming. "Feel Like Dancin'."

"Who?" I asked for I hadn't heard of it.

"It was my famous duet with RuPaul." She mused.

I shook my head. "Child, it wasn't famous enough to reach my ears. Next?"

She called out another one. "Just Wanna Dance."

"You and naming these songs about dancing. What's next? Dancing Cause I Wanna?" I asked her.

My siblings chuckled and Latoya mugged them. "It was a nice song Janet. All of my songs are nice. I was singing before you, I was the finest sister—."

"Until I turned 18, but continue." I waved her onward.

Her nostrils flared and I realized I was pissing her off. That only gave me more satisfaction and I knew she was close to snapping when she said, "Look you little muppet, I will end you."

I trembled dramatically. "Oh my God, I am sooooo scared."

"Now Latoya, calm down na. We don't wanna have to pick your teeth and wig up from the floor because you know Janet don't fight but Damita Jo does. Don't do it." Marlon forewarned her.

"I don't see why you keep trying her anyways." Randy began. "You are a chihuahua messing with a rottweiler."

"I don't know why she's trying to show off because Kyrin's in here anyway." I muttered. "You been trying my nerves since I walked in the door. Matter fact, where's momma? Momma!"

"Yeah?!" Mommas voice yelled from what sounded like the kitchen.

"Come get your child before I knock her to the white meat!" I yelled back.

Footsteps carried on into the living room quickly and soon momma was standing in the room with us. She looked at Randy like he was crazy. "Breaking my damn vase. Should let Janet whoop on you some. Now Latoya, come on here. Your sister don't wanna deal with the nonsense today."

Latoya got up and walked over to our mother. Momma pulled her elsewhere in the house and Rebbie chuckled. "J, you really just snitched on her."

"I didn't feel like fighting." I admitted as I shrugged. "She just gone have to learn another day."
