Sacrifices Have to be Made

08:43, 17 October 2021

I was gonna publish sooner but my pc was not allowing it. Also if some things are cheesier than usual or like having shittier grammar than usual, its cuz I'm too lazy to edit today. Sorry. I love you---

"Okay guys, so if the trees are mixing up the landscape, why don't we just jump up every now and then to make sure we're going the right-"

"COME BACK, ZEUS!" Big Mom yelled, cutting me off. That's fine, it's not like my idea was revolutionary or anything.

The Yonko is behind us now and has us in her sights. "If we're too slow, she'll catch up!" Carrot said.

"That's usually how chasing people works," I commented.

The sun that accompanied Big Mom flew up towards the cloud that was following us, trying to bring Zeus back to his senses. Thankfully, that didn't work because Nami distracted him with a weather egg. Luffy then began punching the sun with haki, only to find out not even that works. I guess it's just a living element then.

"I'm gonna burn you all to death!" Prometheus yelled as he showered us in fiery bullets.

Jinbei saved us by jumping into the nearby river and shooting whatever it was in there at Prometheus. We all ran across the bridge going over that same river in order to escape Big Mom while the sun was weakened. Some of Big Mom's army popped out of the bushes after that, leading us to believe that our group got turned around quite a bit. We beat them easily enough and regrouped.

"Is everyone okay?" Jinbei asked.

"Seems like it!" Luffy responded.

Some heavy footsteps made their way toward us, followed by a scream for cake. Big Mom was close again since we got sidetracked. The sun was back too, having powered back up.

"Run deep into the forest!" the fishman yelled. We all did as told, not wanting to die at the hands of some hungry lady's tantrum.

"If we just run without a plan, they might get ahead of us again!" Sanji pointed out.

Jinbei agreed, and Carrot had a lightbulb moment from beside him. "Oh, I have an idea! Listen, I'll jump up and tell you the direction of the ship! That way, even if they change the landscape, we'll be fine, right?" she chirped.

"Yea, you're right!" Sanji said. I kept myself from saying I thought of that earlier but no one listened since Big Mom closed in on us.

Carrot jumped upwards to take a look, but was taken out by a tree. Sanji caught her and set her back down. Pedro got the job done after he volunteered and pointed to where the ship was. He stayed above ground in order to guide us.

"I won't let you get away!" Big Mom screamed with a swing of her sword.

An airslash headed our way, causing us all to duck down. We had to continuously dodge the next barrage of attacks from both Prometheus and Big Mom. Our group ended up getting blocked with the sun on one side and Big mom on the other.

"Is this it?" Nami thought aloud.

Zeus then showed up out of nowhere and ate the weather egg attached to her staff. The cloud then floated above the trees and turned dark grey, emitting sparks of lightning.

"What's happening to it?" I asked Nami.

She looked from me to the living cloud above us. "I think... since my weather egg is inside of Zeus, it's kind of controlling him," she explained. She directed her attention to Sanji after she seemed to figure something out, "Sanji! Carry me and run! Everyone, run as far as you can, too!"

Everyone nodded and we started running. Meanwhile, Nami faced behind us, where Big Mom was. She raised her staff and then swung it downwards, causing a huge, destructive bolt of lightning to strike the Yonko chasing us. The ground was shaking and I almost went blind from the sudden brightness.

We all stopped running to assess the damage. "That was so powerful!" Luffy said. There was a huge hole where Big Mom used to be. She's probably in there somewhere.

"My climate baton can't generate such strong lightning!" Nami stated.

"Yea, Zeus probably more than doubled the output," I hummed. "I wonder if we can make your baton stronger so that it can release that kind of power on its own...." I looked at the orange and white weapon in her hand. If I could help create something that great, I think it'd rival Enel. As much as he sucks, he was mighty powerful.

"Do you think you could do something like that?" she asked with sparkling eyes.

"Yea, for a pric-" I stopped talking when a the ground shook. "Oh no..." I sighed, looking at the hole in the ground.

"Where's that sound coming from?" Sanji questioned.

Some more rumbling occurred before Big Mom's voice was heard. "Wedding...~!" her distant voice called out.

"I thought so..." Jinbei mumbled.

"Is she still alive?!" Carrot gasped.

"She's not someone who'll get beaten that easily," Sanji replied.

The hole started crumbling, and yet we were still standing here. When the ground started cracking open, it was obvious she was walking through the ground and probably climbing up while she's at it.

"There's no stopping for Big Mom when she has hunger pang attacks!" Jinbei told us.

"Obviously! Can we start running or are we gonna keep staring?!" I shouted, dramatically motioning the other way.

"CAKEEE! Wedding...! ... CAKE!" Big Mom screeched as her voice got closer to us. I started sprinting before Jinbei even had the chance to tell us to. I grabbed the closest person to me, Nami, and just ran. Everyone followed after me once they broke out of their initial shock.

"She's coming up!" Pedro yelled from behind me. I set Nami back down and looked back to see where she was. Not to far away and her head was already above the ground.

"Can't we do something?!" Nami asked.

"It's no use! Just run!" Jinbei yelled back.

"If that thunderbolt didn't do anything, I don't know what will!" I added, catching back up to them.

Unexpected guests showed up once the ground cracked some more. "Pudding?! Chiffon?!" Nami questioned. They were flying on a living rug.

"Oh, Pudding! What's wrong with you?! You fooled us!" Luffy yelled.

She then continued to get interrupted by our group. Sanji then expressed his relief in seeing her safety which... made her flustered? Well, that was an unexpected development. I'm sure it was for her, too. I can't blame her, though.

"Pudding! Get it together!" Chiffon scolded her. Big Mom busted completely out of the ground, pushing the pink haired woman to say, "We have no time! Pudding, get right to the point!"

"Okay!" she nodded. She looked at Sanji and got all shy before suddenly scowling, "Pathetic! You fools! You're not gonna make it! Even if you escape by ship, Mama will chase you to the farthest sea and sink you to the ocean floor! AHAHAHA!"

"What did you say, you bastard!" Luffy growled.

Chiffon knocked her back to her senses, "That is not it, Pudding! What are you talking about?!"

Pudding blinked back to reality and held her face in her hands, "EH?! You're right, you're right! What am I saying!"

Her sister took on the job of talking since she was clearly confused. "Listen! Mama believes that you guys stole the wedding cake she really wanted to eat! Right now, Mama would chase after you even across the water until she gets the cake!" Chiffon informed us.

"That's right! So, Sanji! Come here!" the teen beside her demanded, "Watch as your friends get killed by Mama and go through hell!"

"THAT'S NOT IT!" Chiffon screamed. "What are you talking about?!"

I couldn't help the laugh that came out of me. "If that's what you came to say, go away, you fools!" Luffy yelled at them.

"Wait a minute! That wasn't it!" the pink haired woman pleaded. She turned to Sanji. "Black Leg Sanji! Pudding told me you're good at making sweets, too! Help us bake the cake! We'll make the cake which is the only think that can stop Mama! And we'll help you guys escape!"

"Chiffon! Why?" Nami butted in.

She smiled at the navigator, "I wanna pay my debt to you for saving Lola! And I'll risk my life to do it!"

Pudding leaned forward and once again found the need to say something in her alternate personality, "Hmph! Maybe that's how we end up! But unlike my sister, I'm not doing it for you! The cake that I was gonna back for myself happened by chance to be the one Mama craves now! A-a-and I just passed by her by coincidence! I didn't know you guys were here!" She started blushing once she locked eyes with Sanji again, but kept the evil look on her face. "S-so it's not like I came all the way to stop her because I didn't want you to die, Sanji..." She turned around and then finished his name of with a, "...-San~!"

Everyone looked at her in confusion. "BAHAHAHAH!" I cracked up, holding my stomach in desperation. I patted Sanji on his shoulder and laughed out, "Your dream of making girls go crazy is finally happening!"

"Eh-"

"Shut up!" Evil Pudding suddenly yelled at me once she turned around. I grinned at her while she continued, "You! He spoke of you, you cow! You're now my rival! My rival in... in... in... Ahhh~!" the girl squealed with a blush. She held her face in embarrassment while I busted out laughing again. She is so unintentionally funny.

Sanji pushed all of that aside and focused back on the issue, as he was probably confused with what the hell was going on with her. If only he knew. "I see! That's good! Where can we bake the cake?!" the blond questioned.

His ex-bride uncovered her face and tried to answer, failing miserably. Chiffon answered instead, "We have extra supplies of the ingredients at Chocolat Town! First, we'll go to Chocolat Town and bake the cake as fast as we can! Then, we'll carry it on a ship and deliver it to you! And we'll let Mama who comes after you eat the cake! That way, we can distract her attention from you! So hang in there until that time!"

Some stomping made some of use look back at the Yonko who was closing in on us. "Then, I'll come with you!" Sanji said.

Jinbei hopped in on the conversation, "The cake you guys will bake is the only hope to stop Big Mom!"

Chiffon and Pudding nodded in acknowledgement. "Guys! I'm gonna leave you for now but I promise I'll return!" Sanji told us.

"Yea! I know you will!" Luffy nodded, as did the rest of us.

Big Mom seemed to recognize the two women on the flying carpet thing after we exchanged approval of his leave. She swung her sword back, indicating that another flying slash was coming our way.

"What are you doing there?!" she asked her daughters in anguish.

"Luffy! See you at sea!" our cook called to his captain.

"I'm counting on you, Sanji!" Luffy responded with a smile.

The blond jumped toward the flying carpet right as Big Mom's pink beam came flying our way. I had to jump to the right in order to avoid the attack. Standing so close to them was not a good idea.

~~~
With another loud crash, we finally got to the coast while Big Mom continued to chase us. The only problem is that there was a bunch of people we didn't know on it. Also, Brook and Chopper seemed to be stuck in candy next to Perospero.
"Perospero and Katakuri... those two of all others... The disaster continues!" Jinbei narrated.
"Wait what?" I blurted, looking around on the ship where I made eye contact with Katakuri. I averted my eyes and instead looked at his weird candy brother. I don't need judgement, only freedom.
Perospero laughed from his position on the railing and said, "It's amazing that you got this far. I'm impressed. But your destination is a graveyard! You must die here!" He reached a hand out and it turned into some kind of candy. He then made a giant figure out of the stuff on his hand. "Candy Maiden!"
"A wall of candy!" Carrot gasped.
"With spikes," I added.
The eldest brother proceeded to launch the Candy Maiden at us. Pedro, Luffy, Jinbei and I all attacked it. It shattered, but it reformed into something Perospero called the candy maiden decoration. It ejected spiked at us and wall jumped out of the way.
"Go around and get to the ship!" Jinbei shouted.
"NO!" Luffy yelled, running at the candy weapon. "Go straight!" He went into gear two and threw his fist backwards. "Gomu Gomu no... Red Hawk!" The entire thing imploded.
Katakuri stood up from the main mast's seat and met his fist with Luffy's in order to keep it from extending any farther. No one even had time to worry about the tall man because Big Mom made her way closer to us.
"What should we do, Luffy?! We're surrounded!" Nami panicked.
Luffy didn't answer her, instead staring down Katakuri. Jinbei told him to try to get Katakuri off the ship, and he took off to do so. Perospero jumped off the ship for some reason, so I jumped on where he just got off. Jinbei and Nami followed after me.
Brook and Chopper were stuck in place in front of us. I knocked on Chopper's candy coated body, seeing that it was completely solid. "You'll get out of there, Chopper, Brook. If worse comes to worse, I can shove you into my workshop's furnace. Just make sure to stay alive," I told them.
"You're not sticking them in an oven!" Nami shouted at me, slapping me over my head. She then places her hands on Chopper, "Hopefully you guys are alright in there!"
"Even if they are alright, we're still in a pretty horrible situation with Katakuri on the main deck and Big Mom on shore," I hummed, rubbing my chin.
"Yes, and the Big Mom pirates are most likely planning to surround the ship soon," Jinbei followed up.
Nami sighed in frustration before having realized something. "We can use the Coup de Burst!" she exclaimed.
Jinbei grew confused, "Coup de... what?"
"Coup de Burst! This ship can leap 1km away!" she explained. "If we try to set sail normally, the ship will be sunk by Big Mom even if we don't get surrounded!"
I nodded, "Franky created this ship with the coolest ideas in mind. Coup de Burst has saved us multiple times by now."
"I don't quite understand but we can escape that way, right?" the fishman questioned. We nodded. "Okay! Let's bet on it!"
Nami looked to me, "Can you go set up the barrels of cola?"
"Of course," I responded.
I ran to the loading station, picking up the nearest barrel and shoving it into place. By the time I was done, the whole ship shook. Turns out, it was because Perospero stuck the ship in place with a bunch of candy. That wasn't the only problem though because a bunch of Tarte ships had already shown up around the ship.
"Pedro?!" Carrot gasped from behind me. I crossed the ship to see what was up. Perospero had Pedro on the ground.
Before I could even compute what was going on, Pedro pressed his cigarette onto the explosives he had coating the inside of his jacket. A huge explosion ensued.
What? What just happened?
I had to grab onto the railing to keep myself from falling when the ship got removed from the candy keeping us in place. Chopper and Brook both fell from their previous positions as the candy on them disintegrated as well.
"PEDROOO!" Carrot screamed, ready to jump forward. Tears were pouring down her face, something I never thought I'd see with how happy she constantly is.
Nami grabbed her before she could jump, "No, Carrot!"
Carrot continued to reach for the air in front of her desperately, "Let go of me! Let me get back to where Pedro was! Maybe he's still alive!"
"NO! You saw that explosion... He saved us!" the navigator reasoned with her, even if she also had tears in her eyes. "We've had no chance to survive up until now! You have to understand Pedro's reasoning! Please!"
I held my face in my hands, realizing what happened. Pedro just blew himself up to save us.
"Ready to fly, Nami?!" Luffy asked, breaking up the moment.
She looked at me. I had to shake myself out of it. Pedro died to save us, and if we don't get out of here, it was for nothing. Looking back at her, I gave the navigator a nod of confirmation. "Yes, it's all set!" Nami answered. She looked toward the two who'd just got out of their candy imprisonment, "Chopper! Brook! Are you with us?!"
"Yes! They're with us!" Jinbei reported back.
Luffy looked toward everyone, "Set sail, you guys! If we waste this moment... we'd make Pedro ashamed of us! We'll get out of here no matter what! At any price!"
"Why is everyone... so heated up?" Katakuri questioned, having been witnessing everything from the lawn of our ship.
Carrot leaped from her spot and attacked Katakuri, having been let go by Nami. "Go away, Big Mom Pirates!" she screamed.
None of her attacks landed. It was obvious from the start that she wouldn't be able to win, especially with how Luffy was struggling with him already. Before he could stomp her to the ground with a kick, I jumped forward and rolled to a stop with her in my arms.
"As long as I'm here, I won't let you set sail," the tall man announced to us all.
The Mink shook in my arms as she kept crying, clutching at the grass below us. Katakuri shared a stare down with me, unmoving. When he stepped toward the two of us, Luffy flew forward and began his barrage on the man, which didn't seem to be making any progress. It did get Katakuri away from us, though.
"Carrot! Leave him to me!" my captain shouted.
She said his name helplessly. I rubbed her back to try to calm her down and bring her out of her grief. "Listen, I'm sure you've noticed the power gap between you and that guy. Let Luffy handle this for you, meanwhile, we can help to escape the way that Pedro wanted us to," I told her. She looked to me, then at Luffy before shakily nodding in understanding.
After setting her to the side to regain her bearings, I saw that Brook, Jinbei, and Chopper were trying to pull the Shark Submerg closer to the ship while Big Mom made her way to us. I didn't get the chance to help them because cannon balls started firing at us.
I ran to the front of the ship where Nami was preparing the Coup de Burst in order to protect the Sunny from fire. I caught the cannon balls as they came at the ship and threw them back out at the many more that came our way.
"The cola energy has reached its limit!" Nami shouted.
"Now! Go!" Luffy ordered.
Just as the orange head was about to pull the lever, Big Mom grabbed hold of the ship. I ran over and helped Nami back up. "You alright?" I asked.
"Yes, but I won't be if we don't get going!" she responded, reaching for the lever again. When she pulled it, nothing happened. "Huh?! I can't use the Coup de Burst!"
"HUH?!" I panicked.
"What's the matter?! I thought it'd fly!" Brook questioned.
"I think the cola leaked due to the impact!" Nami guessed.
I gripped at the roots of my hair as Chopper screamed in fear. "That better be all that's wrong because she could have done much worse to the back of the ship," I thought aloud.
"STOP SAYING THINGS LIKE THAT!" the reindeer behind me sobbed.
"I'M SORRY I JUST THINK OF THE WORST WHEN THESE THINGS HAPPEN!" I apologized with crocodile tears falling down my face.
The whistle of more cannon balls cut off our moment of dread, and we all switched back into action mode in order to defend the ship from the projectiles. Jinbei wanted to help Brook, Chopper, and I, but Nami instead gave him the job of controlling the ship while she fixed the cola fuel.
Once Nami emerged from the fueling dock, Luffy called out to all of us by our names. It looked like he had Brulee by the neck since she stuck her head out of the mirror on the Sunny's lawn. One hand was on the old woman while the other was clutched around Katakuri in order to keep him from moving this whole time.
"Listen to me! I'll leave the rest to you!" Luffy said.
"What?! What do you mean by that?!" Carrot asked.
Before there was an answer for that, Jinbei told everyone to hold onto something. It seems like the tone dial instructions that Nami gave him worked. The Coup de Burst is ready.
I didn't get the chance to shout "Coup de Burst" with everyone because the weirdest thing happened. Something very soft stuck itself around my ankle. No, it wasn't Chopper. It was... mochi.
I flew through the air and into the mirror dimension in mere seconds. "WHY?!" I yelled once my back hit a wall and a mirror.
"EH?! (y/n)?!" Luffy shouted in surprised. "I meant I leave the rest to you OUTSIDE of here!"
My eyebrow twitched and I sat up from the ground that I slid down to. Then I dramatically motioned to my ankle that had mochi stuck to it. "YOU SEE THIS?!" he looked at it, and then looked at where it led. Katakuri's leg, one of the things that Luffy couldn't contain by grabbing hold of him earlier. "I didn't just JUMP in here!"
"Ohhh..." he turned to Katakuri, who he'd let go upon falling into this dimension. "Why'd you bring her here too?! This is a one-on-one fight!"
Instead of answering, Katakuri let go of my ankle and instead grabbed hold of my wrist, bringing me over to him. "I couldn't risk losing someone that Mama has been waiting years for," he said after bringing me up to eye level with him. "You won't have much freedom once this problem is resolved."
"I won't be here when it's resolved, dear," I responded, moving my wrist around in his grip. I guess you could say that this is a sticky situation.
---On a different note, imagine all the mirrors around the islands just spontaneously breaking bc of Luffy and Katakuri's fight. Anyway, look at this screenshot.
WHO DREW THIS LMFAO WHYS HE LOOK LIKE THAT
