Rescue Mission Voyage, Started!

Be prepared for heavy fanservice.---

"In the end, it's the seven of us," Luffy said as we stood in front of the group who was going to see us off. Pedro had joined our rescue group, too. "It's nice to have you, Peropero!"

"It's Pedro. I won't bother you," the jaguar assured, completely unbothered by the mix up of his name.

Pekoms, who was tied to the back of Luffy's huge food bag, shifted to look at the Mink, "Wh-why is Big Bro Pedro coming?"

"I'm coming along as someone who's known you-gara well for a long time," Pedro answered.

"What do you mean by that?!"

I strolled my way over to Law's crew after I saw that all the people in my group were getting their own little goodbyes with certain people. The older captain spotted me and was about to say something, but you know I already walked past him and hugged Bepo with my entire body. I'll get to Law in a bit, it's fine.

"I'm gonna miss you, Bepo! And you guys too!" I looked around the polar bear to address the rest of Law's surprisingly high spirited group.

They're all super happy people and I've spent the past few hours just hanging out with them. Why? Well it's mostly because I followed Law back to them after he dissed Zoro's lack of direction. Since Zunisha was injured, we had to get wood for the ships we needed to use to treat the wound the elephant had. Zoro, the master compass, had walked into the forest with the rest of us and then got lost somehow. I ended up finding him with Law, where Law proceeded to bash him and then teleport the swordsman to the rest of the group with the wood he'd cultivated.

Penguin smiled at me and nodded, "We'll miss you, too! The captain is way more lively when you're around."

I gave Law a look from the corner of my eye, "Oh I do, do I? I'm glad to be having an impact. Your boss man is a little boring." Law continued to look past me and to the scene of Zoro and Luffy talking about whatever.

Bepo's arms came around me and nearly squeezed the life out of me, "You're always welcome on our submarine, (y/n)! If you change your mind please tell us! Or even if you want to just stay for a few days! Or weeks!"

"Who said that?" Law asked.

"Oh so now you're listening," I deadpanned at him.

"Captain! You're lowering the chances of her coming back!" Bepo told him.

I patted his pack, "You're the sweetest, Bepo." I popped my arms out of the polar bear's embrace and dramatically motioned to his cute face, staring at Law. "Look at him! You can't resist! Give in!"

The tattooed man kept a straight expression as he began a staring contest with the polar bear before his will finally crumbled, "Stop, I never said you weren't allowed in my submarine."

"Hmm, yea I guess you didn't. What about subs on the sub?"

"No."

"Subs on the sub or no deal."

"There was no deal to begin with."

I climbed off of Bepo and sighed, giving an apologetic look to Shachi. Don't worry, though, that was only my first attempt. I walked over to Law and brought him down to my height by hooking an arm over his shoulders, "So anyway, I want to ask a question that I'm sure has never been asked before."

He surprisingly didn't struggle like he used to and instead just retaliated with, "What is it?"

"Can I wear your hat?" I whispered to him.

"That's your question?" he muttered, seeming to grow irritated by the lack of importance he found in it.

"Yes," I confirmed. I gazed at his bland expression. "Don't look at me like that. It's valid."

He shook my arm off of him. I thought that the gesture was a rejection, but before I could deflate into a puddle of disappointment, he reached for his hat and dropped it onto my head. It was a little big, but with a readjustment, I could see with it. My hands rubbed the hat like it was a magic lamp. I was pretty much petting it. It's so soft.

I looked at Bepo and reached my hand out with my palm faced downwards. I put on a straight face and said in the deepest voice I could: "Room."

The polar bear clapped his paw-hands together and nodded along with Penguin. "That's exactly like him," they approved simultaneously.

I bowed, "Thank you, thank you, I do birthday parties too." I faced Law and started petting the hat again, "Thanks for the hat. It feels nice on my head. And on my hands. It makes sense that you wear it all the time."

It was then that I noticed he was being... weird. His tattooed hand held the lower half of his face so I couldn't see from his nose down. He stared at me with his eyes being visible. Then, his eyebrows scrunched and he closed his eyes, letting out a long sigh from behind his hand, "Yea. I had a similar hat for a long time. Now give it back before you walk off with it."

"Whaaat? I would never," I gasped in fake offense. I would definitely do that. On purpose.

He rolled his eyes and used his free hand to grab at the hat on my head. I dodged him and took it off myself, placing it in his awaiting hand. He placed it on his own head, and then after a long intake of breath, he finally removed the hand from his face.

Shachi laughed from the sidelines of this exchange and said, "Wow, Captain, I didn't know you were so sh-"

"(y/n)! Come over here really quick!" Luffy chirped from his position near the edge of the elephant's back.

I looked at Law, who had stopped right in the middle of reaching to grab his subordinate, and then back to the spot that Luffy was dramatically pointing to. "Well, I'll see you guys!" I told the group, making eye contact with each of them. I got a chorus of farewells, and a 'yea' from Law. Honestly didn't expect him to say anything, so we're going to take that as a win.

When I stood next to Luffy, Kanjuro spoke up, "Now, let me help you descend from the elephant." He had his paintbrush out, so I believe he intended to make a horribly drawn animal again.

"That's okay, Kanjuro!" our captain cheerfully denied him. I didn't realize what was happening until it happened. The sound of Luffy's stretching arms reached my ears a little too late. His hands locked at the front of him and I was suddenly squished between him and Chopper.

"H-hey..." I murmured nervously, staring at the stretchy arm that was locking me into our unfortunate group.

The ebony haired teen smiled widely and then hopped backwards, all of us in his clutches which meant that our feet left the ground when his did. "Bye!" he told everyone. "Leave Sanji in our hands!"

"WHAAAT?!" the entire Minks Tribe and samurai screeched in horror.

"See you all in Wano!" Luffy called out.

"Okay!" Zoro replied. His eyes met mine and his smiled turned into the smirk of a pure sadist. I flipped him off the best I could with the position I was in.

"Don't get caught by Big Mom!" Usopp warned.

"Yea! I'll see you!" Luffy responded.

Our group entered free fall off the elephant and we could no longer see the others. "AAAAAAAHH!" all but Luffy screeched.

So it turns out that Carrot was a stowaway on the ship. She apparently wanted to go to sea, so she thought going to a Yonko's island was the best way to do it. Yea, I have no idea either. She's never been out of Zou, though, so I can't get mad at her. There was no turning back so we were stuck with her and she was stuck with us for now.

"I'm hungry. Let's eat. Somebody make something!" Luffy ordered from his laying position on the ship's lawn.

I looked at Chopper, Chopper looked at Brook, Brook looked at me. No one here is a cook. "Alright, I'll do it so watch the sea, okay?" Nami said, walking off toward the steps.

"Yessir!" Brook, Chopper, and I sounded off.

"Yay!" Luffy cheered.

"Each of you must pay me 5,000 berry," she told us, not even looking back. She has no remorse.

Our group yelled for her to stop walking toward the kitchen. We ruled Nami out as an option because all of our allowances would be gone if we let her cook. Chopper, Brook and I were staring at each other again, mentally having a conversation. One of us has to do it. Luffy will make something catastrophic-

"I'll make something!" Luffy interrupted our telepathic conversation. "Count on me! I'll cook you a lot of delicious dishes!"

All three of us ran up the steps after Luffy, who had already made it to the kitchen. Carrot followed us up as well. Luffy had a chef hat over the top of his straw hat on and was rustling through the fridge. Though it was cute, the price I'd have to pay for getting served by a Chef Luffy has too high a risk.

"WOW! It's a nice kitchen!" Carrot complimented, making her way inside.

"Yes, Sanji usually cooks and we all eat here, talking and laughing," Brook informed her. "Oh yea, let me give you a tour of the ship."

She jumped on him with a smile, "Garchu, Baron Corpse!" She chomped on his facial bones again. "AGAIN! You're too hard!" she complained. The rabbit woman looked to me and smiled, "Will you be giving me a tour too~? Garch-"

"NOPE! I'm gonna stay here to make sure the Sunny doesn't go down in flames," I told her, my hand splayed across her face in order to keep her from biting me again. I won't lie, it hurts a little.

"Oh! That's fine too," she backed off and smiled. I gave her one back.

Brook walked her out of the kitchen while I made my way over to my captain. "Whatcha looking for, Chef?" I asked, looking over his shoulder.

He turned his head to look at me with a grin, "Lots of meat!"

I laughed and moved away from him, "Yea I figured. Probably take out other stuff, too, though. Like... vegetables."

"Hmmmm okay!" he stood up straight and threw a bunch of the fridge's contents onto the table. He went into the drawer and pulled out two knives, one for each hand, and the turned to the things on the table. "Let's do this! Oh, how exactly do you cook?"

"Luffy..." I facepalmed.

"Do you know how to cook, (y/n)?" he asked.

"...to an extent. I can cook decent like any person. Excluding you, of course," I responded.

"Eh? How do you do this then?" he questioned.

I scratched my chin, "Well, what are all of these ingredients supposed to be contributing to?"

"Uhh.. Dunno! Something good!" he chirped happily.

I sighed and shook my head, "I don't know what I was expecting there. Just... try cutting this fish." I took out a fish from his food pile and put it on a cutting board.

"Yosh!" he went ham on it. Just went crazy. He lost a knife at some point. He stopped and showed me the wrecked, uneven pieces of fish. A sparkle came from the smirk of accomplishment he gave me, paired with a thumbs up.

"....That's really good, Luffy," I didn't have the will to tell him it was terrible.

He went into another drawer, looking for something unknown, and then he came back, placing a chef's hat on my head. "Alright! Now what do I do, Chef (y/n)?" he asked, ready to continue.

I stared at him for a minute, resisting the urge to tell him he's absolutely adorable, but also that he needs to exit the kitchen and only come back when the food is already made. I also struggled not to grab him and say there's not a thought behind those eyes. "Just... season it, Chef Luffy," I told him.

He grabbed out a whole pot and threw the fish in there. I didn't even see what seasonings he put on that fish because his back was to me so I couldn't see it. He threw it in the oven without so much as a second thought and turned it onto a random temperature. It all happened so fast that I couldn't even tell him not to use a pot in time.

"I can cook now!" he declared, turning to me.

"Um, sure you can," I sweatdropped. I'll just check on that in five minutes to make sure it's not charcoal. "What did you put on the fish?"

"It's... a secret!" he replied. Of course it is. "Now for the rest of it! We have to make looootttsssss of meat on the bone!"

"We?" I asked.

He smiled wide, sparkles in his innocent wide eyes, "Yea! You're gonna teach me how, right?"

I covered my eyes, "Stop blinding me! Your smile is too bright! This has got to be illegal! Ah wait, it wouldn't matter because we're pirates. Why do you wanna learn anyway? Don't you want me to just make it? You were never interested in cooking before."

"Because you're teaching me!" he easily replied.

I shook my head, "But Sanji would have definitely been a better teacher for this."

He shook his head ans smiled, "I don't really like to do it, but if you're is gonna teach me, then it's gonna be better! Everything's better when your part of it!"

My jaw nearly fell off, "Hey, you can't just go around telling people that."

"I don't. I take you with me places because you make everything great," he chimed. I stared at him. His happy face didn't leave one bit. The silence is getting really loud in my head right now.

"Luffy! (y/n)! Pedro wants to show us something!" Chopper's voice called for us from the door of the kitchen.

I gave him one last look before we listened to Chopper's summoning of us. We both went down to the lawn where Pedro was waiting. The Mink showed Luffy the newspaper in his hands. He peered at it. "EHHH?! The Revolutionary Army was defeated?!" Luffy screamed.

Pedro nodded and handed him the paper, "I thought you-gara were the son of Monkey D. Dragon-"

"SABO?! That's my brother!" Luffy cut him off with the name of the man who he was actually worried about.

I pressed the side of my face to his so I could get a look at what was up with the blond man in the paper, "Oh right! He's in that army! Where's the update of his status?! I can't find it!"

"Sabo?! You mean the brother that you said you met in Dressrosa? Is he the Chief of Staff?! That makes him No. 2 of the Revolutionary Army!" Brook questioned.

"Oh yea, You guys weren't here for that! He's a great guy! He's super powerful, too!" I told them.

"What an unusual group of brothers they are," Nami sighed in disbelief.

"Wait, did you meet him, (y/n)?" Luffy asked.

I nodded, "Yea, I met him two times in the same day. He's the one who carried me to Kyros' house since I was immobile."

He grinned, "I'm glad!" His eyes directed back to the paper he had in his hands, "So this guy Dragon next to him is..."

"Yes, that's him! You grandpa told you two years ago! The leader of the Revolutionary Army, Dragon. That's your dad!" Nami reminded him.

Luffy stared hard at the image and then shrieked, "EHH?! IS THAT MY DAD?! I've never seen him before!"

Carrot came between Luffy and I so she could see the paper, "Ehh? Luffy's father is the boss of the Revolutionary Army?! Oh my! Oh my! Garchu!" She started rubbing her face against his. I took a big step back from them. It's just a common practice in Zou, (y/n). No need to react to it. Luffy is ignoring her, so should you.

"Didn't you look into it at all these last few years?! Normally people would care if their father was such a famous figure! And he took care of Robin for quite a while," our navigator nagged.

I patted her shoulder, "Nami, look who you're talking to."

She sighed and rubbed her temples, "You're right. I don't know why I'm surprised anymore!"

Carrot started tugging at Luffy's ears with her teeth while the captain spoke, "He doesn't really look like me. Anyway, I'm worried about Sabo!"

Brook laughed and hummed, "Well you can't really empathize with a picture."

"Yea, and he's right. He looks nothing like Dragon," I commented.

"The location of their headquarters was found from an anonymous tip, however, when the Navy and Cipher Pol arrived there, the Blackbeard Pirates had already destroyed the headquarters," Nami read aloud, having grabbed the newspaper from Luffy.

I couldn't take it anymore and karate chopped Luffy's ear, making it tug away from Carrot's mouth. She'd been biting and tugging at his ears this whole time. Pedro seemed to catch the message and pulled her away by the back of her shirt. "Blackbeard?! Those bastards!" the captain blurted. He looked at me, "It's those same bastards from before!"

"Yea I remember them from the war," I grumbled, my nose scrunching at the thought of them.

"But why would Yonko Blackbeard want to attack the Revolutionary Army?" Nami mumbled. "Isn't it strange?"

"Well Sabo beat Champion half to death is Dressrosa. I guess he wasn't dead enough, to not tell Blackbeard," I informed her.

Pedro spoke up, "Yonko Blackbeard fled after butting heads with Cipher Pol, it seems. There is no report on casualties. If your-gara father or brother had been caught or killed, that would have made headlines. So I guess they're okay for now." I let out a sigh of relief.

"Oh, okay!" Luffy grinned.

"OI, LUFFY!" Chopper screamed. He had been yelling in the background of this conversation for a long while now, but none of us really acknowledged him due to the concern for he news. Usually, I'd pay attention to him, but Sabo could have been captured this time.

"What do you want?!" the teen shouted.

"Thank you for cooking for us, but is that normal?!" the reindeer yelled.

Everyone looked to where he pointed. The whole ship shook a little when more fire and smoke erupted from the top half of the ship. "FIRE?! WHAAAT?!" the captain shrieked.

"Why?! Why is it on fire?!" Nami followed up.

"NOOO!" Brook screeched.

"Oh no, I left the stove on!" Luffy shouted.

Nami smacked me over the head, "YOU WERE IN THERE TO PREVENT THIS!"

An explosion went off in the kitchen. "Now's not the time! Put out the fire! Franky's not here to fix the ship correctly!" I cried.

"How?! The sink is in the kitchen!" Brook sobbed.

"What do we do?!" Chopper panicked.

I motioned to the sea, "What if I turn into a ladle and then you guys hold me over the side of the ship to pick up the water?"

"EH?! But it's sea water!" Luffy pointed out.

"OH SHIT! What do we do?!" I fell to my knees and the other two started crying.

"Wait a minute! There's a storm coming! (skylar storm)" our navigator yelled over our panic. "Furl the sail now! The wind is gonna rip it up!"

"What about the fire?!" Chopper asked.

"There'll be heavy rain! It'll put it out!" she responded.

Luffy popped up with a smile, "So lucky!"

"Cut it out!" Nami screeched, smacking him over the head.

I scaled the main mast and started furling the sail on one side. Chopper went to the other side. Pedro was already getting the other sail done. He was pretty fast. I wonder if he's ever been sailing before. Or maybe he was training heavily to go out to sea.

---Sorry for the late update yall. On a different note tho, I never realized how much Carrot didn't contribute to Zou. She was a random add, for sure, though I don't have an issue with her.

I don't mean to get controversial here but... Yamato>Carrot. For those of u who don't know Yamato yet, just know they're rad. Those who do know Yamato... feel free to agree or change my mind *thumbs up*
