Front Crawl Frog

05:42, 6 April 2021

OK WAIT! I have something to ask y'all!!!!!! What should the name on the wanted poster be for u guys?? Cuz Nami is Cat Burglar, Luffy is Strawhat, Zoro is Pirate hunter, Sanji is Black Foot, and I have NO IDEA what y'all should be called. Gimme ideas. TY love u <3——

When I was pulled out of the water, I started coughing up the salty liquid, trying to gain some oxygen in my lungs in place of it. I could hear the sound of something dangerous making it's way to me, and I activated my devil fruit as soon as I could. I gritted my teeth when ice solidified the flesh of my right foot up to my mid shin. I was too late. I couldn't activate my power in time since it starts from my torso and expands throughout my body. My power undid itself since it could not completely overtake my entire body. I didn't even know that was possible; learn something new everyday, I guess. At least the freezing stopped there My blurry eyes made eye contact with the admiral.

"I wasn't going to freeze all of you. You can't die yet," he huffed. My eyes shifted to Usopp and Chopper running away with Robin's body. Huh? She's frozen? My eyebrows knitted together in concern: her innards are probably frozen too. Her heart is probably stopped. I don't have to die but she does? What kind of rules is the navy running on? I gritted my teeth, trying to get up. Nami stood in front of the ice man's way, getting thrown to the side like nothing. I gripped at the grass beneath me and pressed my foot into the ground to stand. I tried to put some weight onto my frozen foot, but was met with a pain I've never thought I'd have to deal with. If I press any more, I think I might break my foot off. Zoro and Sanji ran at the admiral while I tried to stand, but Luffy stopped them, telling them to go to the ship with the others.

Both of them hesitated but listened to him. They ran over to me, each of them reaching a hand out for me to grab. They both gave each other the side eye, and Nami called for us to hurry up. Zoro picked me up and put me over his shoulder with his good arm while Sanji was looking over his shoulder to the girl in order to nod at her order in seriousness. He turned back around and saw Zoro already had me, and we hurried off. When we finally got to the ship and I rolled off the swordsman's shoulder, landing on my good leg. "Chopper!" he called out. The reindeer came out and expressed his alarm for the lack of Luffy's presence. Zoro answered in haste, "We'll explain later! We're gonna go back right away! Do something about our frozen limbs!"

We were told to submerge ourselves in water so that we could defrost, but Robin was already defrosting in the shower. Sanji and Zoro jumped into the ocean immediately, while I was grabbed by Nami. She jumped into the ocean with me, keeping close to the shore in order to keep me from sinking. She wasn't very physically strong so it would be difficult for her to hold me afloat in the water while I'm limp AND she's staying above the surface.

"Thanks.." I muttered to her. I felt pathetic, to say the least. Zoro and Sanji climbed out once the ice melted, and I was pulled up by the two of them since Nami couldn't climb with me on her back. Chopper told us to rub the affected areas once the ice on the outside was gone, so I sat down with the other two men while Nami went inside to help the doctor with Robin's situation. Usopp questioned the fact that we all left Luffy their by himself.

"Aren't you guys cold-hearted for just leaving him there alone?!" Usopp finished, only to have his overalls gripped as he was pushed against a wall aggressively by the cook.

"Shut up! It's a duel! What is it that you don't understand?!" he shouted in his crewmate's face.

Zoro pushed me back down when I attempted to get up and break their fight apart, then went back to holding the cloth around his bicep where his arm was frozen. He then caught their attention by yelling, "Stop it! There's no time for that!" his voice lowered and he continued, "We're.. in a crisis right now. Whether this decision is his passing whim or whatever, if anything should happen, be prepared to respond to that!"

I looked down at my foot and continued to rub at it as Chopper told me to. The two men took off after that, leaving me with a frustrated Usopp and everyone else in the bathroom. I sat on the deck quietly. The other two came back a while later with Luffy's frozen body. Why didn't Aokiji.. shatter him? I thought his aim was to kill the crew... I bit my lip in confusion, but decided to shake it off: he's in one piece and that's what matters.

I felt a weight lift off my chest when Chopper reported that their hearts were beating. We all eventually passed out wherever we were while we waited for the two to wake up from almost dying.

The day following that was pretty calm for a long time, we were eating potatoes and talking. Luffy even acted out him being frozen again, even if he almost died. I still laughed with Usopp and Chopper, though. Robin woke up a little later in the day and Sanji started making coffee for her at her request. I was sitting next to Luffy, eating potatoes that the blond prepared, when Zoro called out to us.

"A-a frog is doing the front crawl!" the green haired man shouted, not even believing himself. "It went on your side! Take a look!"

Usopp, Luffy, Chopper, and me all looked to see that there was a giant frog doing the front crawl across the water next to us. We all sprung into action right after that, pulling the oars of the ship out to change direction.

"We'll follow it guys!" Luffy barked out.

"Yea!" all of us answered, including Zoro. Nami, Robin and Nami were all in the ship while this happened, probably drinking coffee. Doesn't matter, we have a frog to catch.

"Furl the sail! Stand by the oars! Turn the ship to 2 o'clock!"

"Yea!"

"Hurry up!"

"Yea!"

"I don't know why, but I feel like we have to go after it!" the swordsman shouted out beside me while we pushed the oars.

"Me neither, but this feels right!" I shouted back.

Nami came out of a door seconds later, shrieking while she asked about why the ship was changing course, to which Luffy responded, "Oi, Nami, you have to hear this! We found a huge frog with scars all over its body! We're definitely gonna roast it whole and eat it!"

"You're gonna eat it?!" Chopper, me, and Zoro said simultaneously.

The orange head looked at me and then dragged a hand down her face, "You, too, (y/n)?" I shrugged at her. What does she want me to do? Tell them to stop? Be boring and not take part in chasing a scar covered frog that is doing the front crawl? I refuse.

Nami got her binoculars to see where the frog was, and then informed us that there was also a lighthouse. Luffy didn't care, though, and he asked where the frog went. The navigator denied him the information, but Robin and Sanji both entertained the idea of catching the frog in her place. This earned a cheer from all of us rowing people. The ship suddenly stopped when we seemed to have crashed into something. A bell started going off right after that, and when we all looked, a metal ship with steam coming out of it was seen coming our way.

"Turn the ship 180 degrees!" the navigator barked. We all did as told, fearing for the ship's safety and our own. Then, we witnessed the thing crash into the scar littered frog, sending it flying. The metal machine kept going with no issues, though. I feel like I've heard about that thing from somewhere.

There was a moment of silence while we stared at the retreating thing in shock. "Grandma! Grandma! Pirates are here!" Me and Zoro turned to see a little girl run into the building near the light house, followed by a bigger lady coming out of the house and picking up a transponder snail. She hung up right after, though, since she didn't remember what she was calling for.

"So she's drunk?!" Usopp yelled in irritation. At least the navy wasn't called, though.

~~~
We basically bribed them with potatoes and found out that the little girl's name was Chimney, her cat (or what I'd call a blue rabbit thing), is named Gonbe, and her the drunk lady who was still holding a bottle of wine is named Kokoro, the girl's grandma. Luffy introduced himself with his name and that he would be the king of pirates, which earned a laugh out of Kokoro. The metal thing was called "Puffing Tom" and it was a sea train that runs on the railway hidden under the surface of the water. When we found out the frog likes to test it's strength on the train, captain declared that he would no longer eat it. Nami then told them that the log pose was heading east of the lighthouse.
"I see, then it must be Water Seven," Kokoro said.
I held up and hand to stop the conversation, and I reached for the woman's hand with my eyes shining, "Water Seven?! Do you mean the city of water?! I heard it has the best technology! That must be why the name 'Puffing Tom' sounds so familiar! I heard about this place from my dad~!"
Luffy asked if there were shipwrights, which was answered with a resounding yes. She gave us a paper and told us to go to a guy named "Iceberg", saying we sent her. She offered to take us to her favorite bar if she sees us there later since they would be in Water Seven soon as well. I immediately said yes to that, giving her a thumbs up. She laughed at my enthusiasm in an amused way, and then we set sail.
~~~

My mouth fell open when we finally were in range of the city. "It's even better than what I imagined!" I swooned. This place looks amazing! We were told to go through the backways of the city, and we were able to view the city and be in awe of it. I am so glad Nami gave me allowance, I'm going to buy so much stuff.

We docked the ship and Zoro almost broke the mast off while pulling on a rope, earning some scolding from Usopp. Nami, Usopp, and Luffy all left to exchange the money while everyone else stayed on the ship. I helped Zoro put the mast back upright, and waited impatiently for me to have a turn in the city. Chopper was being impatient with me, since everyone else here had to be so calm. I'm glad he was matching my energy so we could be annoying together. I went into the bathroom a little bit later and when I walked out, my little Chopper was gone.

"What the hell?! Then are you the only one on the ship?! What a boring enviroment!"

That sounded like Sanji. I walked out to the deck and Zoro sitting down against the railing, while the blond was freaking out next to him. "No, I'm still here, Sanji," I informed him. He spun around as soon as the sound of my voice met his ears and his eyes turned to hearts. He appeared in front of me and clasped his hands together.

"Oh (y/n)-swan~! I'm so glad you're here with me~! Would you like to go grocery shopping with me-"

"YES!" I cheered, grabbing his hand and my bag which was waiting on the railing of the ship for me to take. He was waving like a flag behind me as I ran into the town entrance that I saw the rest of them head into. Once I entered the building, I stopped in my tracks and Sanji almost slammed into my back if he didn't stop just before he fell on me. I can't believe his chivalry even stopped him that fast. It must be some kind of super power. I asked the man for whatever a bull was, and it turned out that it was called yagara, and it was how everyone in the town travels. I asked him where the shopping district was, and he gave us directions.

I was about to use my allowance on the yagara, but Sanji handed him the money instead. "Ah, beautiful couples like you always make me jealous," the yagara owner hummed.

"C-c-couple-" Sanji stuttered out as his hands clasped together again and he began daydreaming.

I chuckled and jumped in the front of the boat, "Yep, we're the cutest couple. So cute, that you should give us a discount!" I chimed. The man laughed, and unexpectedly agreed. I cheered and watched the man give Sanji some of his allowance money back. The blond seemed to stunned to even realize what was happening, though, because he was stuck in time after I said the first sentence. Grabbing his hand, I pulled him onto the small boat behind me and pointed forward. "Go, my lovely Yagara!" I ordered with a grin. The animal nodded to me exited and took off at a higher speed than all the yagara around us. "Woohoo!" I took in the views arorund me with a joyful expression, forgetting that the blond was with me for a second. Looking behind me, I made eye contact with Sanji who was already looking at me with a love struck face. It seemed... different from the normal heart eyes though. "Having fun Sanji?" I asked him, kind of worried.

He shook his head after a minute to get out of his little dreamland, and I grinned back at him when he refocused on me, giving me the same look as always. "Yes, I'm always having fun with a beautiful lady like you around, (y/n)-swan~!" he replied.

My attention was caught when a man's voice called out to me from the window of the tall buildings we were passing by. "You're absolutely gorgeous! Go out with me some time!" he called out. I laughed and grabbed Sanji's hand, waving around our hand hold. The man seemed to deflate at that and went back into his house.

"The people here sure are forward, huh, Sanji!" I chuckled. The grip on my hand wasn't loose anymore, it was strong. I looked at him, and he was staring at our hands really hard with a red face and his curly brows knitted together. "Sanjiii? Earth to Sanji?"

He looked at me with a serious expression before it turned to comical as tears fell down his face. "(y/n)-swan, you're the only woman on the ship that would let me hold your hand!" he sobbed, covering his face with his other hand. "I am honored! I will never forget this! I love you, (y/n)-swan~!"

I stared at him for a bit before laughing and shaking my head, "Whatever you say Sanji. By the way, you said you were from North Blue earlier. How'd you meet everyone in East Blue then?" He went silent after that. I turned to him, and he hair was covering his eyes. I quietly told the yagara to keep going to the district, to which it nodded too, and then I turned completely around to talk to him. "Hey.. If I asked the wrong question.. you don't have to answer.." I said softly. "I really didn't mean to upset you."

I heard him sigh, then he looked at me with a wide smile, "No, it's fine. I'll tell you as much as I'm comfortable with for now since you should know at least something. I've never said anything to the others, but they also never asked." I nodded along to what he was saying, and he started his story, "I was on a ship where I worked in a kitchen away from my.. family who is in North Blue, and then a shitty old man pirate came onto it and tried to attack the ship. A storm hit at that moment, and that old man saved me from drowning, losing part of his leg in the process. We waited on a rock for.. a long time, and that one footed idiot went and gave me all the food without me knowing. We almost died. We were saved miraculously, though, and that old man created a floating restaurant with me so no one else would ever have to go through that hell."

Just from that, I could tell something was going on with his family, but I ignored it, seeing as he avoided talking about it. "And then!" he continued, a smile stretching across his face, "I met Nami and the rest-" I interrupted him with a laugh but motioned for him to continue. He only mentioned Nami, not even his captain. "They showed up, and Luffy convinced me to come with him. Now since I'm with him, I've been searching for All Blue! It's a sea that houses all different kinds of fish and-" he started fanboying about All Blue, and I couldn't help but smile. I'm glad that it perks him up so much after he told his story. Or at least as much as I could know right now. I nodded along to what he was saying, and then we arrived at the shopping center. He bought some veggies and fruits, and then practically turned to stone when he found out that the butcher shop was on land.

"Don't worry Sanji, I'll use this yagara to the fullest while you go buy the fish and stuff," I chimed. He slummed, nodding sadly, climbing onto the walkway beside us. I stood up in the boat and hugged my arms around his waist since I was at water level while he was at ground level. My head rested on his stomach, and then I looked up at him. He was frozen with hearts in his eyes. "Thank you for telling me about yourself, Sanji. I really appreciate it," I hummed. His eyes turned to normal and he looked down at me surprised.

"(y/n)-swan.. you really shouldn't do that. I don't think my heart could take much more," he let out a chuckle after he said that, and then kissed the back of my hand when I pulled my arms from around him. I blinked at him in question, but he returned to normal a second later and spun away, telling me to stay safe and that he would look out for Robin, not even mentioning chopper.

I stared after him with slight confusion, but brushed it off. I turned away and spotted a strong current going up a ramp. The yagara seemed to have read my mind because it sped right over to it. I raised my hands up in excitement, the air rushing past my face. This is gonna be a fun day!

----Oh how wrong you are. This is such a deep arc (hehe ocean joke). One of my favorites. AAAAAA I love water 7. Also I know CP9 is like super bad, and Lucci is like in love with murdering people, but cmon... Kaku.. Lucci.. how could I not include them. And yes. Sanji time. I won't deprive sanji of reader-swan. He will not be ignored, especially after I witnessed the whole cake island arc.
