...Where Are We Now?

05:22, 3 April 2021

"AAAAAAHHHH!"

I shuffled and tried to squint my eyes to see. Zoro convinced me to sleep after I finished writing all about what happened in my log book, and I just decided I probably should listen to him since NO ONE ELSE SLEEPS OR SOMETHING! Too bad Nami woke me up.

"What's up/What's the matter?"

"What's wrong, Nami-chwa- AAAAAHHH (Y/N)-SWAN WHAT ARE YOU DOING LAYING NEXT TO THE MUSCLE HEAD?!" Sanji yelled, mostly at a sleeping Zoro who didn't even move at the noise. I was a couple feet away from him, nothing sus.

"Shut it! We've got bigger problems!" Nami interrupted, "We started riding an air current at some point and now we're drifting!" She continued to explain to everyone why that was bad when no one really cared. Of course, I didn't care much either. Where we end up is where we end up. Not much we can do. Luffy seemed to be in the same mind space as me because he just said it was no problem, receiving a pointed look from his navigator.

"But.." Sanji suddenly cut in, looking up at the octopus air balloon. Nami asked what was up and he continued. "Well.. I guess it was my imagination.."

"THERE'S A PROBLEM! OI!" I practically jumped out of my skin when Zoro shouted beside me out of nowhere. My head snapped over to him after my initial surprise and I saw that he was completely sitting up now. He kind of just stared forward blankly for a while before saying, "Oh, it was just a dream." and laying back down. My eyebrow twitched and I was about to lunge at him, only getting held down by Robin's devil fruit arms. Everyone else was just as irritated as me because they were screaming at him. Too bad he was already out like a light. Luffy was just laughing.

~~~
A hand grabbed onto my wrist after the sun went down a bit, and I looked to see who it was and sure enough, it was Luffy. "Huh?"
"Come with me, I have a great idea!" he chimed with a wide grin.
Sweat gathered at my brow and I sucked in a breath, "Uh.. I don't think I really want to find out what that ide-" He already grabbed my arm and pulled us up to the top of the octopus. I was literally clinging onto it for dear life. WHAT IF I FELL OFF?! "L-L-L-Luffy!"
His grip on my arm stayed as he stood up and jumped, pulling me with him, and then when we fell back down onto the octopus, we bounced. I blinked in surprise as I bounced up again, making eye contact with Luffy who was laughing joyfully. A grin grew across my face and I just started bouncing around with him all over the place. We soon heard everyone talking below deck, and Luffy offered Zoro to come up with us when he said he was bored. I heard Sanji yelling something but I couldn't really hear over the sound of Luffy having the time of his life and laughing his head off. He was jumping in a kind of weird way though. Like his feet could maybe burst the-
"Hey! The octopus is shrinking!" Sanji yelled, suddenly right beside me. He must have climbed up to tell us that.
"Wait.. WHAT?! OH MY GOSH I HAVE NO BRAIN! HEAD EMPTY!" I punched myself in the head, or well I was going to, until Sanji reached forward to stop me by grabbing my wrist. I was about to tell him something when Luffy's laughter stopped and he tumbled into my back. Soon we were all rolling off of the octopus and past the ship. "HYAAAA WHYYYYY?!" I shrieked over the air.
I was yanked back when I felt a hand grab my ankle. Oh it's Luffy. I looked down and see that I was holding both of Sanji's hands so he wouldn't fall to his death. He didn't even have time to say anything about that because the ship started straight up falling again, moving us so that we were no longer dangling off the side of the ship, but level with everyone else. Usopp made an attempt to stop the ship from falling so fast by putting air dials on the bottom, but it only worked for a second because the octopus completely shrank after that. Free falling again.
I wrapped myself around the mast and cried crocodile tears as we fell to the ocean. "Please, I haven't had so many firsts! I can't die yet!" I cried out. That earned me some looks but what do they want from me?! I'm old enough! More than enough!
We finally hit the ocean, and we were alive. I heaved out a sigh of relief. Every second I am with these people, I almost die! Why do I even want to stay?! Everyone talked about how incredible it was that we were even that high, and it seemed like it wasn't even real. I could agree with that, it was definitely no one else would believe if they didn't see it themselves.
"It's a dream land. I wonder if we can go again some day," Chopper breathed out in a dreamy tone beside me.
"We might be able to get closer if we die," Zoro responded.
Usopp looked up at the swordsman from his position on the ground, "Zoro, you think you can go to heaven?"
"You jerk..!" he hissed back. I just full on laughed.
Sanji told us he'd make some coffee, earning a complaint from Luffy, until we finally realized that we had no idea where we were. What really drew our attention was the spot lights and blaring alarms.
~~~

I held Chopper to my chest as we hid behind a tree, looking over my shoulder to look at where we are. "(Y-y-y-y/n)! Where are we?! Where do you think the others are?!" the poor guy whisper shouted to me. I ducked behind the tree when a spotlight almost caught us and started running into the forest.

"I don't know Chopper, but it looks like a Navy base of some kind. The others are strong and so are we, so we'll be fine!" I tried to cheer him up as I carried him. He had tears in his eyes and he was looking around frantically as I made my way into the base. Everyone else probably got in some way or another, so we should too. I threw a door open and started running through the hallways, but to no avail. Why were they so confusing?! "Ummm did we come through here before?" I asked, sweat dripping down my face.

"Eh?! You don't know?!" he shrieked, pointing at me after he jumped from my arms. We heard footsteps coming our way after that. He slapped his hooves over his mouth and then frantically looked around to find a distraction. The reindeer opened a window and then threw some cans down, sighing in relief when we heard the soldiers shouting about going downstairs, followed by their retreating footsteps.

"Great job!" I whispered to him, giving a thumbs up. He quietly called me a bastard while dancing and I giggled into the palm of my hand at his cuteness. I love him so much.

We ended up running like.. everywhere until the sun rose, ducking and hiding whenever we could to avoid problems. I was so tired of this already. Eventually we hid in a barrel and waited for some more guards to pass buy. They seemed to be getting more and more lax since yesterday's events. They were just talking it up while they walked by, all up in the latest gossip of this maze of a fortress.

"I heard one of the Straw Hat Pirates was captured!"

"What?! So it really wasn't a ghost ship?"

"Yea, in a sense, it's scarier than ghosts. Don't be surprised when I tell you this: It's Roronora Zoro, the pirate hunter!"

When they finally got out of sight, we peaked out heads out of the barrels and climbed out. "That idiot.." I hissed under my breath. He probably got so lost that he walked right into a cell or something.

"To think that Zoro was caught..! What are we going to do?!" Chopper cried out to me softly. We started walking and he started rationalizing after that. He was walking in front of me, and when he was in the middle of a T shaped intersection, some soldiers spotted him. I was about to grab him and run, but he took off running straight and the soldiers ran right after him. Wow. Easy. WAIT! NOT EASY! I ran after them because duh, my dear Chopper was going to be caught, but my arm was grabbed when I passed by another hallway.

I put my hands up and immediately yelled, "EH?! WHAT DO YOU MEAN?! I'VE BEEN HERE FOR 5 YEARS-"

"(y/n) I didn't even say anything, and also SHUT IT!"

I opened my eyes at the familiar woman's voice. It's the raging navigator, Nami. In a.. pink nurse costume? "Ok but what are you wearing?" I asked quizzically.

"The real question is: Why are you not wearing it?" she retorted, shoving me into a closet. I looked around and saw the same uniforms. Oh, score! I reached for one and threw it on, coming out a second later and seeing Nami waiting in the hallway for me. She gave me a thumbs up and we walked down the halls talking about how this was the best plan. "Ahhh, (y/n), it's been so nice to have another normal girl to have around that's my age. Or well, I think so. How old are you?" she asked.

"Oh! I'm 19!" I chirped.

She gave me a sly side look, "Oh? Did you know that Zoro is also-"

"What are you two doing?! Get to the medical room!" A bunch of nurses came running in the opposite direction of us, pushing us to go with them. I groaned in defeat and ran with them, Nami following my actions. When we got to the medical room, a bunch of patients were waiting for care. They were riddled with wounds. What the hell happened to them? A bunch of supplies was shoved towards me and I was instructed to go help patch people up. I reluctantly did. I had no problems with marines, in fact, I'm not even technically a pirate, so I didn't mind much. I've had my fair share of bad experience with both sides in my time of living in Jaya. And before that... I finished bandaging one patient and was about to move to the next when I noticed that the doctor and the nurses seemed to be fighting for whatever reason.

The doctor suddenly fell to her knees, looking faint. Why is she panicking? She's here to save lives isn't she? "I will direct the treatment!" a familiar voice declared. My eyes made their way to Chopper in his humanlike form with a disguise on, complete with a mustache and some swirly glasses. While he was barking out orders, I slipped out of the room and left. I would be of less help than that unconscious doctor in there. I can only save lives before they're hurt, not after. I found another room that had custodian uniform. I quickly put it on and pretended to clean down the hallways. In reality, I was just trying to find out where the rest of the Straw Hats were. Sanji would probably have found his way into the kitchen, and Luffy would probably be eating that place clean. So they're probably together. Nami and Chopper are together. I don't know where Robin, Usopp, or Zoro are. Well I guess I know where Zoro is, but I have no idea where the cells are.

A few marines ran past me, talking about how two Straw Hats were on the run and two were captured.

"Ugghhh.." I breathed out.

"Having a rough day?" a masculine voice questioned behind me. I turned around and an older man with strawberry blond hair and a large brown mustache was walking toward me. Oh no, attractive older man. "Hello?"

"Um, yes, sir! With everyone running around, I keep having to clean up the stuff they leave behind," I replied. I don't know, he just looked important so I called him sir and saluted. He had that air to him. He laughed a little and waved his hand to tell me to relax.

"Ah yes, the Straw Hats seem to be everywhere in the vicinity. I was even served a meal by the captain!" he mused. I wanted to laugh at the irony but I couldn't, not with him looking at me so quizzically. The ones on the run must be Luffy and Sanji then. "Usually I get served by my wife, so for the captain of a pirate crew to be my next server really surprised me." Of course he has a ring on it. Whatever, it's not like anything would have happened anyway. "You seem to get lost in thought often."

"I uh.. I do. Sorry, sir!" I saluted again. He seemed to be searching for something in my face. Does he know I came with them? I was sweating. I didn't leave much evidence, I only left my blacksmith bag. I didn't even have coffee with them. I was sweating so hard, but I tried not to show it. Please just leave.

He smiled and walked off after seeming to think things over. I hope I don't run into someone else important because my luck can only late me so far. I started running in the opposite direction once he was out of my sight, soon getting lost again and coming across a door that was telling me to open it. So I did, of course. Looking around, I could see a large desk, a fancy chair, a bunch of other stuff no one cares about, and- IS THAT THE GOLD FROM SKYPIEA?!

I nearly choked on air when I spotted the large pile. I ran over and checked just to make sure that what I was seeing was the gold from the ship. IT WAS! I tied it all up in a single bag, then realized that this was probably not a good idea. Whoever owned this room would know someone stole it instantly, and suddenly everyone's looking for someone with a huge bag of gold. I bit my lip and looked around, trying to come up with a plan.  I set the bag back down and untied it. I'll come back when the timing is right.

-----Yes. I have included this filler arc. I just love the commander I'm sorry LOL. Plus, room for Nami to like you more after this helpful event. But I am telling you now, THE LONG LONG ISLAND IS NOT HAPPENING!!! NOT HERE!!! Especially because I'm basing this on anime, not the manga. Long Long island in the manga was good
