These are Pirates?

12:02, 2 February 2022

I ran down the paved roads, looking everywhere for those three pirates from earlier. I need to at least try! I saw them in action myself, I judged their character, why should I not give it a try! This could be the only chance that I have left in the world, especially with all of these stupid new pirates saying they're only here to have a good time and torment people. Fuck all that noise!

Soon, I saw the three of them on a small ship with a sheep as the figurehead, making me smile more. It so cute! I made eye contact with Luffy, the straw hat man, and smiled widely at him, "I HAVE A QUESTION FOR YOU GUYS!" I called out, waving my hands around.

"Oh! Its the girl from that place!" he pointed out, going to literally point at me afterwards. I jumped from the dock to the front of the boat where he was standing, grabbing his hands to hold them in mine. "Oi, what're you doing? Let go-"

"Are you really heading to the sky island? Are you going to find a way?" I asked, my eyes shining with hope. This time! This time I can see it!

He smiled widely at me, about to say something before I let go of him and shuffled back against the railing of the ship when I spotted the expression on the woman's face. "Ehhh? Sky... Island..?" she hissed out, a murderous glint in her eye.

"U-uh.. no? That's n-not what I s-s-said" I stuttered, sweating under her gaze.

"Huh?! Did you just call me a mindless idiot?!" she shouted out.

That's when another beautiful woman walked onto the ship, who orange head instantly blamed for the incident at the bar. She was fuming. If I were her, though, I'd be in the same position. I would not have had the self-restraint that these other two guys did. It was definitely an impressive feat. While she was yelling, I saw a little reindeer thing shift into a huge human reindeer thing, then jump off the side of the ship and into the ocean.

"O-oi, Chopper!" Zoro called out, jumping in right after him. I laughed in the background of whatever the others were doing, watching the green guy have to climb out of the water with the almost dead looking small little reindeer creature. I pressed on the little guy's stomach, causing a spout of water to come out of his mouth. This made me fall into another fit of giggles. "Don't play with his body you idiot! I just got him out!" Zoro scolded, smacking my hand away. He pulled off his shirt to wring it out, "Chopper" beginning to dramatically breath heavily.

"What're you guys doing?" a long nosed guy asked, looking disappointed at the scene he was looking at.

"I thought I was a goner!" Chopper sobbed, still laying on his back dramatically.

"Geez you're such a pain.." Zoro grunted, making Chopper say something that got "Nami" mad again. What a funny group this is.. "Anyway. Who the hell are you?" green head asked, making everyone look at me. A blond guy all of a sudden noticed my existence, and he literally tornadoed his way over to where I was, picking me up from off the ground next to this weird animal and kissing the back of my hand.

"Mademoiselle! You are impossibly beautiful! It must be fate that we meet like this!" he swooned, hearts in his eyes and a cigarette between his grinning teeth.

I smiled right back and grabbed his hand in mine, "I agree, it really must be fate! Please take me with you all to the sky island!" I replied, stars in my eyes. Right after I said that, the guy turned into a puddle on the floor, confusing me greatly. I hopped over him and moved back to the straw hat man himself, while behind me a fight broke out between the blond and the green head due to name calling. Straw hat had to be the captain! He ordered Zoro earlier in the bar! "Please! Allow me to board your ship to the sky island! I will be forever in your debt if you do!" I begged, bowing at a 90 degree angle.

"Hmmm ok!"

"I know this is a long shot, but going to sky island has always been a dre- HUH?! THAT EASY?!" I screeched in confusion, falling on my butt. A few of the members laughed at my reaction, including the captain himself.

I got back up and he grinned widely at me, explaining, "I can see that you really want to go there, and we're already doing it, so why would we not take you?"

That makes perfect sense while also making no sense at all. I popped myself on the forehead and bowed to him again, "THANK YOU VERY MUCH! I PROMISE TO NOT GET IN YOUR WAY!" He complained about how I need to stop bowing to him, thus making me stand up straight. With him.. with him I'm sure I'll finally be able to see sky island!

For whatever reason, the ship started moving wherever and we ended up encountering a really huge ship that I see often. There's these two brothers that raid falling ships while the other gets food. They're kind of dumb, but they're not dumb like Bellamy. If anything, I like them. Super funny and weird. Turns out, though, that Luffy kicked the other brother into the ocean, and the supply brother started using his voice to tear up his own ship and also the Straw Hat's. I had learned that their crew was literally just called the Straw Hats. The jolly roger has a little straw hat on it and it's definitely more inviting than others. Nami instructed everyone to get the ship out of the guy's range, yelling at me when I was standing there doing nothing. I don't know how to work ships!

I ran to the rudder and helped the skinny long nose guy push it, successfully doing it by myself, may I add. "Haha, I was just pretending I was struggling so that you could feel better, of course!" he said, smirking to himself.

I blinked in surprise, "Really? That was a really convincing performance," I replied, looking between him and the rudder. He started sweating but I just made my way out of the room and looked around some more. This ship was wayyyy beat up now.

"Nooooo~" the same guy sobbed out when he exited the room I was in. He trudged his way over to the broken bits of the ship and told the little creature, Chopper, to get some more materials.

"Seriously... seriously... seriously..." he started muttering to himself, complaining about the supply brother.

Zoro was sitting on the floor next to the mast, nailing on metal plates so that it wouldn't fall. "This ship has really started to fall apart. Maybe it's about time to replace it?" he suggested, instantly getting shut down by long nose. The ship clearly meant something to him, and the little reindeer started copying his expressions and I couldn't help but laugh a little.

"Complaining won't help much Usopp, but you're right, the Going Merry is part of the family, so let's work hard and repair the ship!" Luffy chimed in, seeming to surprise 'Usopp' who was on the verge of tears, which then turned to irritation because his captain busted off another part of the ship while trying to fix it. They argued a bit, and then Luffy turned to me, already giving up on trying to fix the ship. "Anyway, what's your name? The old man from the place said it but I don't remember," he asked, making Usopp smack him over the head.

"YOU AGREED TO LET HER BOARD AND YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW HER NAME?! I WAS ONLY OK WITH IT BECAUSE I THOUGHT YOU KNEW HER FROM THE BAR!" he yelled, then pointed at me, "What if she's dangerous?! What if sh-she's part of the p-p-pirates who beat you guys up!?" he continued, hiding a little behind Luffy now.

Luffy made a thinking face for a minute, and then looked at me, "Hey are you part of those other guys?"

"Nope."

"See Usopp? It's fine!" his captain confirmed, smiling widely.

His crew was quick to call him an idiot, but I ignored them and smiled at Luffy, "My name is (y/n)," I stated, before looking to the rest of the crew, "And don't worry, I'll be out of your hair as soon as we get back from sky island. I won't cause any problems and I can defend myself!" I explained. Usopp seemed to accept that, and so did the little reindeer who was at his legs. I crouched down to said reindeer while the Nami and who I understand is Robin began talking about the destination we were heading to.

"I've never seen anything like you before. Are you a devil fruit user?" I asked. Really, I'm just trying to make conversation with at least every person on the ship so nothing is too awkward while I'm here. I watched him do a weird pose while trying to.. hide? behind the mast that Zoro had finished repairing to his best ability.

"Y-yes.. why do you wanna know?!" he fumbled, highly concerned with my questioning.

"Oh nothing, I just thought your transformation earlier was cool, even if that green guy had to save you," I responded, watching as he stared blankly back at me. That's before he started doing some wiggly dance while he called me a bastard, and that he doesn't care if I think he's cool. So cute.

Suddenly, the two more energetic of the bunch, being Usopp, and Luffy, started fawning over some huge palace, causing me to turn around and Chopper to run off and see what they were talking about. Huh? Isn't this where that one guy, Cricket, lives'  He's supposed to be the descendant of a liar, but that's really all I know about him. I do know of who he is supposed to be a descendant of though. The story book of Noland was super popular in North Blue.

We landed and saw that the palace was only half a house, and I saw Chopper transform again when Nami ordered him to start digging for treasure. He must have multiple forms. Luffy went to literally invade Cricket's home while I hung around Nami and Usopp.

"Eh? A picture book?" Nami suddenly voiced, causing us all to look at her. "This is quite an old book. Hm? It's titled 'Noland the Liar.'" Usopp complimented the titled, while Sanji's attention was caught. "Do you know this book Sanji? It says that it was made in North Blue," she inquired.

"Ah! Didn't I tell you guys? I was born in North Blue, I just grew up here," the blond explained, smiling at them.

I butted in at this and grinned at him, "Really? I'm from North Blue too!" He wiggled over to me, talking about how someone like him couldn't compare to me, meanwhile Nami was reading the picture book aloud. I laughed Sanji off and went over to where Nami was reading the book on a stump. She finished of her story telling by looking straight at Usopp, basically saying that the Noland died as a liar.

There was then a splash, followed by what I could see was Cricket coming out of the water. "Luffy fell into the sea!" Nami shouted, causing me to sprint to where he was, then stopping in my tracks, realizing I can't swim.

"You've got guts, relaxing at someone's house without permission! The sea in this area is my turf!" Cricket grunted, then stated something about how we were after his gold. Sanji ran past me and started fighting the guy, which lead to Cricket pulling out a gun and shooting at the younger man. I was going to jump in until I saw that Sanji was easily dodging all of the close-range bullets. Wow, color me impressed. Zoro went in to get Cricket himself, but the guy fainted before anything could even happen. Usopp finally came out of the water with Luffy, who sunk like a rock. He must be another devil fruit user...

Turns out, the little reindeer was a doctor all along, despite his naturally jumpy attitude. Cricket apparently had some kind of diver's disease. I don't really care much for the explanations to that kind of stuff, though, so I looked around his house. My eyes landed on a picture of him with the two brothers that the Straw Hats already ran into today, from what I was able to gather. "Hey guys, this dude-"

"Old-timer! Are you alright?! What are you guys doing here?! What did you do to the old-timeer?!" the two brothers showed up in the doorframe of the small house of Cricket's, cutting off my warning.

Usopp and Chopper immediately fell into a frenzy and started running around in panic while Luffy simply stated, "Huh? We're looking after this guy right now, so go somewhere else."

Usopp cried about how they weren't going to listen, but to everyone's surprise, they did. Luffy and the two brothers named Masira and Shoujou ended up becoming great friends in a matter of seconds. "How are they getting along so well?" the long nosed man muttered, looking at the three of them. Him, Zoro and me were all sitting outside of the little shack house.

"Maybe because they're related," Zoro replied, affectively making me laugh. Ussop sweatdropped at me while Zoro smirked to himself since he effectively made a joke. Luffy's full name is Monkey D. Luffy, according to his wanted poster that I found pasted on a wall on the way over here, so I would guess that there could actually be a correlation between the two.

Luffy got called back into the shack, followed by the rest of us. My mouth fell open when Shoujou actually kicked Masira into the distance, though, right before I went in. 'Wasn't he the one who started destroying ships because Luffy kicked that same monkey guy earlier?!' I thought to myself, facepalming and heading into the small building.

"Sorry for causing you trouble earlier. I thought you were just more idiots after the gold," Cricket explained, getting questioned about said gold by Nami, before he continued, "What is it that you wanted to ask me?" Luffy then went on to ask about sky island, and Cricket laughed loudly at the mention of it, just like the people at the bar, but this time it wasn't in a mocking way. I wonder why someone like this would be pushed away from the main part of the island, he's not even that bad. Putting aside him trying to kill us a second ago..

Anyway, Nami attempted to kill him for laughing while Usopp held her back, and the captain asked if there really was no sky island, deeply concerned. Hell, I was getting concerned too! He was the one lead that they had on it apparently! "I know someone who said there is a sky island. But people call him a legendary big liar. His family became a laughingstock forever," the old man said, looking down at the cigarette in his hand. Luffy instantly craned his neck to look at Usopp, who made a funny expression and yelled that it wasn't him. I think I'm starting to understand that Usopp was an infamous liar in this group. Thinking back on it, what he said about the rudder probably was a lie too.

Cricket confirmed that he actually was a descendant of Noland the liar, making all the rumors about that a fact in my little head now. Turns out, Noland was supposed to be a super honest person, and for the last 400 years, the Montblanc family tried to find this sunken island. They apparently all when missing, though. Cricket explained that he tried to escape his family's past by becoming the captain of a pirate ship. His no good crew ended up leaving him behind on the island that he found according to destiny.

"I wanted to set the record straight before I die," the blond finished his story, not caring a bit for how emotional it made Usopp. Luffy asked about the monkey brothers, and Usopp went on to think they were in on it for sentimental reasons, but Cricket demolished this idea by stating, "They were fans of the picture book." He talked about that for a while too.

Everyone seemed to be caught up in Cricket's story, even me, but Luffy could care less, literally throwing Usopp to the side when he tried to punch him. "Who cares about all that? I want to go to Sky Island!" That's when the old man pulled out a book, which turned out to be a logbook.

I scampered cover to Nami who was handed the logbook, eyes shining along with the usual three, listening to the old details of Noland's experience with sky technology, sky fish, and all of the like. Chopper was trying to get a closer look at the book, so I just picked him up and listened to her talk about it some more.

"He really said the sea in the sky!" Nami enthusiastically chirped, causing the four of us onlookers to turn towards each other in excitement.

"It's just like Robin said!"

"It has so many things I've never heard of!"

"And it sounds like the sky island was a pretty normal thing for people back then!"

"So it really does exist!"

All four of us had a little celebration dance while Nami, Robin, Zoro and Sanji looked at us with happy expressions, clearly not as excited as us but happy nonetheless.

We were all called outside shortly after our little celebration, and he hit us with the facts. And by hit us, I mean he absolutely destroyed Usopp every time that he would mention how many times we could die on the trip over to Sky Island.

First of all, the ship is beat up already and even if it wasn't, the ship wouldn't make it. Second of all, an explosion of water was supposed to throw us into the clouds, and no one has ever tested it before while living to test it again. Third of all, if Sky Island isn't even there, whether it be because it does not exist or because it was somewhere else, we would all straight up die even if the ship made it above the clouds without combusting.

Even with all of this, Luffy couldn't care less and celebrated when Cricket said he and the monkey brothers would help reinforce the ship for the explosion. Plus, it turns out the opportune time for this upstream is tomorrow. Well, isn't that a coincidence. My luck is finally kicking in!

"Y-you're lying!"
