Chapter Twenty

Nico woke up shaking and covered in sweat. He got up, throwing one of Wills old sweatshirts on. He walked down to the infirmary, with his hands in the hoodies pocket. This time, he was the one who surprised Will, hugging him from behind. Will, luckily, was not doing anything major; instead he was organizing the supplies.

"Hey, Nico."

"Heya, Will. Do you need any help?"

"No, I'm good."

"Pfft." Nico blew air onto the back of Wills neck. Will spun around. The demonic face was on, but just as soon, it was gone.

"Will...?"

"Do you need something?"

"Just wanted to come and check on you. Sorry, I'll leave."

"Wait, Nico. I wasn't being fair..."

"Will, you don't look so good."

Wills face had taken on a pale sheen, and the circles under his eyes had grown.

"I am fine."

Nico took Will by the hand, and led him back to his cabin, where he laid Will down on the single bed. He hesitantly put his hand up to Wills forehead. He was burning up. Nico raced out of the cabin and towards the infirmary. He couldn't tell where he was. Everything was spinning out of control. Then, something caught him. "Nico, what's going on?" Nico looked up at Percy.

"Will! Hes burning up. I don't- I don't know what to do-"

"You go get one of Wills siblings, and I'll get some water on his forehead. Hurry!"

"O-ok." Nico sped off, and Percy ran to the lake with a bucket, then to Nicos cabin. Will was sitting up. Percy put a hand on his forehead. Nico was right. Will felt like he was on fire. Percy grabbed one of Nicos shirts from the bed, and soaked it in the water. He put it against Wills head. The door banged open, and Nico rushed in, with a girl following him. She sat down next to Will.

"Hi, Will. It's going to be fine. Its Lana, your sister." Looking up at Percy, she smiled. "Good job with the water, Percy."

"Yeah, thanks. Is he going to be ok?"

"I'm not sure. This is a really strong fever."

Percy turned around to go out the door. Nico wasn't there.

He walked outside. Nico was slumped against the side of the cabin.

"You ok, Neek- Nico?"

"I-I don't know." Percy sat down next to Nico.

"Did you almost call me Neeks?"

"Yeah... Sorry."

"About?"

"That. And calling you gorgeous."

"Why?"

"Because I think I hurt you. And Will. And I feel really bad about that. You guys have a good thing going. I don't want to ruin that for you."

"So... What are you going to do about it?""Try to stay out of your life as much as possible. You know, normal stuff."

"And if I want you in my life?" The words were out before Nico could think.

"Then I'll be here."

"Well then. I'm going to go check on Will."

"Ok. Tell him 'get better' for me, will you?"

"Ok."
