CHAPTER 21: A Heartfelt Meal
16:39, 5 December 2023A/N: 3000... DAMN! Honestly, I never expected this book to reach so many views ( ノ^ω^)ノI am so happy that you all gave time to this story, and since this is my first story ever, I am even happier 🥹Ok, I'll let you guys enjoy the happy times of Naruto and Sasuke! (Though I don't know how long they will last 😅🫣)
Naruto was currently under the shower that had just the right amount of pressure, and the temperature of the water was perfect. The steaming water touched Naruto's golden locks and slipped down his manly figure, following the outlines of his abs, speeding over to his muscular legs, and finally, down to the floor.
He took in a deep breath as he could feel his muscles relax under the weight of the droplets that were raining down on him. He ran his hand through his hair as he cherished this morning shower in peace.
'Nothing can wake me up better than a hot morning shower-'
BANG! BANG! BANG!
"NARUTO! WAKE UP, DOBE! OPEN THE DAMN GATE!"
"What the- ?!"
Naruto slipped because of how startled he was. He somehow managed to steady himself, saving his butt and spine from severe injury. He turned off the shower and quickly draped the orange towel around his waist before walking out of the washroom.
Kurama was aggressively growling at the door, keeping all his nine tails still. This worried Naruto a little as he petted the animal on the head.
"What's wrong, Kurama?"
He tried to get the animal to calm down, but the fox did not relax even in the slightest. Naruto furrowed his eyebrows in response to Kurama's strange behavior and walked closer to the front door of his rundown apartment.
His eyes widened as he peeped through the small hole in the wooden door and saw familiar duckbutt hair.
'Sasuke? What's he doing here?'
"OI DOBE! I SWEAR I'M GONNA BREAK THIS DOOR AND ENTER IF YOU DON'T OPEN IT IN 5 SECONDS!"
Sasuke yelled, getting Naruto to snap out of his thoughts. He was about to turn around and run to his room to put on some clothes before another set of words came from right outside his door.
"ALSO! REMEMBER THAT IT'S THE MONEY YOU SAVED FOR YOUR PLAYSTATION THAT WILL BE USED FOR PAYING FOR THE BROKEN DOOR! I WON'T PAY SHIT!"
With a huff, Sasuke finally leaned back against the door. He was frustrated that the blond was taking so long to open the door. After all, he had been waiting out there in the cold for the past thirty minutes now.
However, on the other side of the door, was an almost naked Naruto who stood in the middle, amused yet scared of what Sasuke said. In the last few weeks he had spent with the raven, Naruto knew that Sasuke wasn't to be messed with. He knew that the young Uchiha was very much capable of doing what he said.
"Acting all bratty now, are we?"
Naruto smirked as a thought crossed his mind. He knew the perfect way to quiet his nonchalantly screaming student.
He decided against putting his clothes on and went to greet the raven at the door, in only his bath towel.
Sasuke heard the shuffling and slight growling behind the door before stepping away from it.
"Tsk, what took you -"
"Oh! Sasuke! Sorry, I was showering, dattebayo!"
The blonde held the door open for the raven with one hand as he rubbed his nape while chuckling sheepishly with the other.
However, a certain ravenette's mind had short-circuited from just the sight of three-fourths naked Naruto. He was blushing furiously as his eyes sparkled while taking in the blonde's state.
'How is he not feeling cold?! He should wear something other than a towel, right? Although he looks pretty hot from up close... He always eats ramen, so he shouldn't have such muscles, but then again, it's Naruto... FUCK! WAKE UP, YOU DAMNED UCHIHA!'
Sasuke knew that he needed to snap out of it soon, or he would have a nosebleed. He tried closing his eyes and thinking of tomatoes and birds, but nothing worked. He somehow ended up imagining Naruto's perfect body structure.
'I *gulps* I want to paint it... I want to paint this... and I want to paint on him... I want to paint him in blue... and purple and then add some orange and yellow... oh shit. I messed it up.'
Sasuke's thoughts were wreaking havoc for the raven in his mind, which was slowly becoming visible on his face. His eyes were darting to the sides frantically as he tried to focus on anything except Naruto.
Then, the only thing that could possibly bring Sasuke back to earth happened: Naruto spoke.
"Umm, Sasuke? Are you coming in? I know it isn't winter yet, but it's still pretty cold to be standing like this, dattebayo."
Naruto was extremely satisfied with how flustered the raven was, his reactions being even more amusing. But no matter what, it sure was cold for a semi-naked man.
Sasuke was completely flustered at what had just happened, and he started shoving the whiskered man into the apartment.
"Hn, dobe! W-Who told you to c-come out na-aked?!"
Sasuke was stuttering miserably as his cheeks were red and hot, making Naruto chuckle. The raven shut the door behind him before he turned to face the blond. He scolded Naruto for not wearing proper clothes.
"Ok, ok, Uchiha princess, I'll listen to thy word!"
Naruto bowed before he retreated to his room to get dressed for the day, leaving Sasuke a blushing mess.
'Stupid dobe...'
Sasuke mentally cursed the blond for putting him in such an embarrassing situation. He wasn't here to check out Naruto's abs; he was here to prepare the blond some quality breakfast.
It was only yesterday that Fugaku had left him alone, and he was already breaking the rules that scum of a father had set for him.
"Grrr..."
Sasuke raised an eyebrow as he looked down at the orange fox who was eyeing him menacingly. His ebony orbs never left those red slits as they continued staring at each other.
"Sorry, Sasuke, but you really scared me with all that banging on the door, dattebayo. Why are you here so early anyway? Is something wrong?"
Naruto came out of his room, causing the eyeing battle between the two to stop. He was in his favorite puffer jacket, under which he had slipped on a black turtleneck, along with his usual cargo pants and shoes.
"Hn. Came to make breakfast."
Sasuke said as he averted his gaze from his crush, who looked stunning to him even today. Sasuke marched off to Naruto's kitchen after setting down his bag on the orange sofa.
Naruto watched in awe as Sasuke made himself at home. "It's been a while since someone cooked breakfast for me," Naruto thought, trying his best to engrave this memory of Sasuke cooking him breakfast in his mind.
"What do you want to eat?"
Sasuke questioned out of nowhere. Naruto blushed slightly upon seeing Sasuke wearing an apron.
'No... it looks too good on him.'
His mind whispered as he coughed to clear his throat, but mainly his mind.
"R- Ramen?"
He stuttered. Sasuke deadpanned at him and continued to stare at the blond for another minute. Naruto knew that the raven wanted him to pick something else.
"How about we go for something like fish and chips then?"
Sasuke was not satisfied with that. He stared at Naruto as the blond continued to give all unhealthy food suggestions, Sasuke, of course, denying every one of them.
"Ugh, what's on the menu?"
Naruto sighed defeatedly. He was never winning any health-related arguments with the Uchiha, and he knew it.
"Tamagoyaki."
Sasuke spoke in his stoic voice.
"What else?"
"Nothing."
Sasuke's voice was stern and cold as he turned around to work with the ingredients and the utensils, causing Naruto to grunt in annoyance.
"So why did you ask, teme?!"
"Hn. For formality."
Sasuke had to hold back a snicker that was threatening to escape from the back of his throat as his crush behind him was gaping at the raven's back, dumbfounded.
Naruto shook his head and chuckled at how childish Sasuke could be at times. He walked to the table and took his seat with his head supported by his hands as he observed the raven-haired male work.
'He is beautiful...'
Naruto's thoughts wandered off for a second before he snapped back to reality. He closed his eyes, breathed in deeply, and then gazed over at Sasuke again.
The ravenette was now bringing over the food to him. He sat across from the blond after placing the meal in front of him.
"Itadakimasu!"
Naruto yelled cheerfully before grabbing his chopsticks and digging into his food. Sasuke leisurely stole bites from his own food as he admired the hungry man in front of him who was hogging his food.
'Just seeing him like this is so... fulfilling.'
His thoughts were interrupted by a small sound coming from near Naruto. Sasuke narrowed his eyes slightly before bending down to catch the source of the sound.
There, under the table, was Kurama, looking at Naruto with expectant eyes. He was whining for Naruto to give him something to eat, too.
'Ah! I almost forgot...'
Sasuke softened his eyes at the scene before standing up from his place.
"Where are you going?"
Naruto asked as he stopped eating. He watched Sasuke walk to the orange couch to get something from his bags. Sasuke returned with a small box from his bag and stood near where Kurama was. Kurama kept growling at the male.
"Alright pup, I got you something too. I researched about foxes and found that you guys like berries. Well, here you go."
Sasuke spoke as he simultaneously bent down to place the opened box of berries near Kurama before returning to his seat.
The fox slowly advanced towards the shining berries as he almost drooled at their sight. He sniffed around for a while to be careful since he never knew what his raven-haired 'enemy' was up to.
'This brat might not be that bad...'
Finding nothing odd with food, Kurama delved into it and happily munched on it, wondering about the Uchiha who had just fed him.
Sasuke's lips tugged into a small, genuine smile as he watched the animal enjoy its meal.
"That was pretty thoughtful, dattebayo."
Naruto was impressed. He never expected Sasuke to go the extra mile to take care of his pet.
"Hn."
Sasuke said in an uninterested voice; however, he couldn't help the small blush that had settled on his cheeks. He was proud of himself for having impressed his crush. He kept eyeing the blond for a while without touching his food while Naruto kept on eating without batting an eye at Sasuke.
After not gaining any attention from him, Sasuke decided to break the silence.
"So, how is it?"
He asked, distracting Naruto from his eating spree. Naruto's eyes widened with realization.
"The best I've ever had, dattebayo!"
He said with a huge smile on his face. Sasuke blushed at the compliment, even though it wasn't anything extraordinary. He just liked it when he was able to make Naruto happy.
"Hn."
Was all he could manage to say. Naruto, however, kept the conversation flowing.
"So, what inspired you to make me breakfast?"
Sasuke was taken aback by the sudden question.
"Oh... well, you told me earlier that you rarely have breakfast just because it's a lot of work in the morning. So I thought I'd do it for you since it's not healthy to skip a meal, and I am not lazy, unlike some orange dobe."
'He just had to end like this!'
Naruto thought as soon as Sasuke had stopped speaking. He let out a small chuckle, failing to put on an annoyed demeanor.
They both chatted for the next few minutes, catching up on life, even though they practically met each other every day while Kurama, after having his fill, had retreated to the bedroom for a lazy sleep.
"Oh! You have your exams coming up this week, dattebayo. Are you prepared?"
Naruto asked, finishing up his meal.
"Hn. Worry about yourself and the cartons of answer sheets coming your way."
Sasuke said as he too neared the end of his breakfast. Naruto laughed heartily at Sasuke's response, causing Sasuke to feel all fuzzy and warm inside. He loved that sound.
'I want to listen to this every minute of my life.'
He thought as he stood up to go and wash his dish along with Naruto's.
They were ready to leave the apartment as it was already time for them to head to school. Sasuke picked up his bag from the sofa as he waited for Naruto to get his stuff.
"Want a ride to school?"
Naruto asked, pointing to the keys in his hands which were hanging from his index finger as he occasionally swirled them around.
"No, thanks."
Sasuke said as he proceeded towards the door of the apartment. He opened it and was about to step outside when Naruto called out to him, causing him to stop and turn in his tracks.
"Ne, Sasuke... thanks for the meal today. It's really been a long time since someone has cooked breakfast for me."
Naruto chuckled sheepishly and did his signature move of rubbing the back of his neck. He didn't know how he sounded. He just wanted Sasuke to know that he was truly grateful for what the raven had done for him.
Sasuke blushed at the sudden confession from Naruto. He looked into Naruto's cerulean blue orbs for a good minute before he finally spoke with a small smile on his face.
"You're welcome."
A/N: Oh my God!! UwUI love the two of them already. Honestly, I have tried not to change their personalities from their original characters. I just believe that if Sasuke was dedicated to love instead of revenge, then he would have gone to great lengths even then. And Naruto... well, don't even get me started 😮💨I'll let you guys interact at the end of the story~Oh! I have news for y'all! I am working on another Narusasu book, and hopefully, I'll be able to get it out soon! I hope you check that book out as well! Wish me luck 🥹Anyway, see you all in the next chapter!Author sound out ~ ✌🏻
