Part 8: Unintended Revelations

The Hazbin Hotel buzzed with its usual chaotic energy, the employees running around doing their daily tasks. In the lounge, Alastor stood near Angel Dust, who was lounging on a chair with a bored look plastered across his face.

Alastor, as usual, was impeccably dressed, his crimson pinstripe suit gleaming under the dim lights. His cane tapped gently on the floor as he engaged in conversation with Angel, the two of them sharing some light, casual banter. Alastor had a habit of putting his hand on the waist of whoever he was talking to, usually for emphasis, but this time, it lingered a little longer than usual.

Angel shifted uncomfortably, his eyes darting to the hand resting on his waist. Alastor, however, didn't acknowledge the awkwardness, his ever-present smile remaining undisturbed.

"I must say, Angel, you do have an... impressive way with words," Alastor said with a slightly teasing tone, completely unaware of Angel's discomfort.

Angel blinked, then cleared his throat, trying to subtly shift his posture. "Uh, yeah, sure, whatever you say, Mr. Radio."

Alastor chuckled, his fingers just brushing against the smooth fabric of Angel's side. "You know, the way you carry yourself—it's quite charming, in a... peculiar way."

Angel just muttered, trying to ignore the tension building in his chest. "Yeah, yeah, I've heard that one before."

Meanwhile, Audrey, who had been bouncing around the room, happily munching on a snack, suddenly stopped and stared at the two of them. Her eyes lit up as she watched her father and Angel interact, though she tilted her head in confusion.

"Daddy?" Audrey's voice rang out innocently, drawing the attention of the entire room.

Alastor's smile widened, and he turned his attention toward his daughter, bending down to her level. "Yes, sweetheart?"

Audrey grinned and giggled as she looked between Alastor and Angel, oblivious to the discomfort in the air. "Daddy, you say funny things about Angel!"

Everyone froze. Angel's eyes widened, his face going pale as he shot a nervous glance at Alastor. The room became tense, the implication of Audrey's words settling like a heavy weight.

"What... exactly do you mean by that, darling?" Alastor's voice remained as smooth as ever, but his eyes were fixed on Audrey, a flicker of unease behind his ever-present grin.

Audrey, beaming up at her father, recited, "You say Angel is so pretty and so sweet... and you want to... cuddle him! And that he's a... good listener!"

The silence in the room was deafening. Angel's face turned bright red, and his heart skipped a beat. He looked from Alastor to the others, who were now all trying their best to hide their reactions, especially Charlie and Vaggie, who were both looking incredibly uncomfortable.

Alastor, to his credit, didn't flinch. His smile, however, was a little more strained now. He placed a hand on Audrey's head, brushing her hair with exaggerated care. "Now, now, sweetheart, let's not go around repeating things Daddy says in private. It's just... some silly jokes between friends."

"But Daddy," Audrey protested, her voice high-pitched and curious, "you said it so many times! You said it like... like it was important!"

Alastor's smile never wavered, but his eyes narrowed just the slightest bit. "Well, we all say silly things sometimes, darling. Let's not get too wrapped up in it, hm?"

Vaggie crossed her arms, raising an eyebrow as she shot Angel a smirk. "Well, looks like someone's got a little... explaining to do."

Angel groaned, sinking into the couch as the tension in the room intensified. "You gotta be kidding me."

Charlie, still trying to maintain some level of composure, looked back and forth between Alastor and Angel. "Uhm, is there, like, a reason you say stuff like that about Angel, Alastor?"

Alastor chuckled softly, his cane tapping once more on the floor. "Oh, my dear, Charlie. You know that I'm a man of refined taste—appreciating someone's talents doesn't mean one has... ulterior motives."

Angel snorted. "Uh-huh. Sure, sure, no ulterior motives at all..."

Alastor smiled down at Audrey, who was blissfully unaware of the layers of tension she had just unveiled. "Let's just say that Daddy enjoys complimenting those around him—particularly those who provide entertainment."

Charlie raised an eyebrow but didn't press further, though she shot Angel a knowing look.

Vaggie, on the other hand, smirked again. "Well, you're certainly... entertaining in your own way, Angel."

Audrey, clearly satisfied with the attention, giggled and snuggled closer to Alastor, who gently lifted her off the floor, attempting to distract everyone from the moment. "Alright, darling, enough of this. Why don't we go find you something to eat? I'm sure you've worked up quite an appetite with all this talking."

As Alastor carried Audrey away, Angel let out a sigh of relief, the tension slowly ebbing away, though the awkwardness remained thick in the air.

"God, this place is weird," Angel muttered under his breath, running a hand through his hair.

Vaggie, still grinning, leaned toward him. "You think that's awkward? You don't even know half of it."
