The Addams

Wednesday's POV

I wake up to movement in the bed. I sit up and see Enid heading towards the bathroom. My clock says it's 7am so perfect timing to get up. My family should be arriving in the next few hours.

"Good morning Wens!" Enid says as she sits next to me.

"Morning Sinclair." I respond

"What's the plan for today?" She asks

"First would be breakfast before my family starts arriving. Then around 2pm we will have a big lunch and at 5pm that's when the reunion officially starts and we get changed into our outfits for the night." I explain

"Does anyone know about me?" She asks

"No but they will tonight. It's not going to be a grand announcement or anything. When my family comes, I'll simply introduce you as my partner and to the ones we don't talk to, they'll know by the dance we're doing." I explain

"I'm nervous" Enid says fidgeting with her hands

"Cara mia, I assure you my family will think highly of you. If there's one person that doesn't, they will simply be handled. You are a treasure." I say holding her hands

"Thanks Wens. You know for someone who doesn't do emotions, you do know how to calm me down" She says

"I've learned from you" I say

*knock knock*

"Come in." I say

"Good morning girls! I just wanted to let you know that breakfast is ready." My mother says

"Thank you. We'll be down" I respond

My mother leaves my room and shutting the door behind her.

I put my hand on Enid's cheek and pull her into a kiss.

"Let's go eat cucciola" I say

"mmm" Enid lets out

"What?" I question

"When you call me names in a language I don't understand, it makes me...ya know...crave you." She admits

"Interesting." I say with a smirk

We get up from my bed and we walk down to the dining room.

"There's our death trap and her sunshine." My father says as we enter

"Hello Father." I say as I pull out Enid's chair and I sit next to her.

"Good morning Mr. Addams!" Enid says happily

"I still can't believe Wednesday can get a wolf as a pet but I can't." Pugsley says as he eats his food

"She's not my pet you imbecile." I retort

"This wolf will eat you for dinner." Enid says laughing

"That she will." My mother adds on

"We won't stop her." My father says

"Okay, okay. I get it." Pugsley says in defeat

Enid leans closer to my ear and whispers

"I can be your pet in other ways..."

Then I feel her hand go on my thigh.

My face, it feels like its on fire.

"Wednesday dear, are you alright?" My mother asks

"I'm fine" I say

I turn to look at Enid and she has a smirk on her face.

I turn back to my food and continue eating. Enid and I finish our food first and went back into my room.

Enid goes to the bathroom to take a shower. I use this time to do some writing since I know I won't have the time this week.

My character Viper is also experiencing an interest in another person. I didn't expect to write something like that but the chapter is still good.

Thing scurries up onto my desk.

"What do you want?" I ask him

"Are you going to tell Enid what the dance means?" He asks

"It's just a symbol of our relationship, I hinted at that." I explain

"There's more to it than that Wednesday. She deserves to know." He responds

"She does not need to know about the Addams Family curse and doing that dance binds us" I retort

"So you already expect to be with her for the rest of your life?" He asks

"Of course I do." I respond

"It'll be better that she hears it from you instead of someone else after you guys do the dance" He says

I hear the shower turn off and Enid opens the door.

"Enough." I say to Thing in a stern tone.

"Are you mad at Thing again?" Enid asks

"He's just being...difficult." I say

"It's almost 2, you're not ready yet?" She asks

I realize I just spent the last 30 minutes bickering with Thing. I quickly got up from my desk and went into my closet to grab my outfit for the afternoon. It's a black dress shirt with black pants and heels. Very simple for the afternoon. I'm saving the more extravagant outfit for the evening.

I walk into the bathroom to change. I don't like to take too much time. I always move quickly and quietly but perfectly.

I'm met with Enid as I walk out of the bathroom.

"Woah." She says

I avoid eye contact with her because I really don't want to feel flustered before we are met with my family.

Enid walks closer to me and tilts my head so I'm forced to look at her.

"Wens, look at me. You're a beautiful nightmare and I have never seen anyone as perfect as you." She says

"Um. Thanks Enid..." I say nervously

"Aww do I have you flustered?" She asks teasingly

"Never." I say as I turn towards the door.

Thing taps on my desk rapidly.

"Oh right." I say

"What is it?" Enid asks

"Well Thing thinks that it's important that I tell you something." I say

"Which is?" She questions

"In my family, we have this curse that we call The Addams Family curse. It means that when we end up falling in love with someone we become obsessed with them in a way that if we can't have them or if we get rejected we will pretty much go insane. Remember me telling you this previously?" I explain

"Yeah I remember you saying something months ago about it." She answers

"The dance that we are doing tonight, that is the equivalent of the cure. It will ultimately bind us for life. It's a ritual." I explain

"That's definitely interesting. Wolves have something similar but it's just a bite to the pulse point of our mate and that makes that person our mate for life." She answers

"Are you okay with it?" I ask

"Of course Wens. I want to be with you. I can't imagine being with anyone else." She says as she kisses me on the cheek.

"Well then. Let's go. My family is probably wondering where we are." I say

We walk out of my room and down the stairs. We get into the living room where a big part of my family is already there. I'm not big on social interactions or social gatherings but I have no way out of this unless I die but even then my family wouldn't leave me alone.

"My storm cloud and her sunshine. You guys look terrifying!" My father says

"Thank you Mr. Addams!" Enid says

There's loud classical music playing so we're all having to talk a bit louder.

"If you guys need anything, we are around." My father says as he makes his way to the kitchen where my mother is.

Enid and I stay in the living room talking and guessing how long it'll take before a member of my family ends up bleeding on the floor. Surprisingly nothing has happened yet but the day has only begun.

"Wednesday!" I hear a guy say as he appears next to us.

"Uncle Fester!" I say with a grin

"And you must be the werewolf she hasn't shut up about." Uncle Fester says towards Enid.

"Yes I am, I'm Enid." She says as she shakes my uncle's hand

"It's very nice to finally meet you. Gomez mentioned you would be here but I'm surprised Wednesday has a partner now. You know how she's super private and not a people's person" Fester says

"Trust me, I was just as surprised" Enid says laughing

"I tried to fight it off for as long as I could." I said

"That's a battle that you lost." Enid says as she wraps her arm around my arm.

Enid and I make our way back to my room since the ballroom dance part of the night is coming up. I get changed into my suit while Enid gets changed into her elegant dress.

I, of course, got done first. I make my way to my desk to sit and wait. After a few minutes of sitting I hear the bathroom door open.

"How do I look?" Enid asks

I stare at her, I admire her for a few moments. I'm lost for words, which doesn't happen often. Only Enid can make me feel like this.

I walk closer to Enid and take her hand.

"Enid, you are the most beautiful person I have ever seen. Only you have this effect on me where I'm lost for words. Your beauty is truly unexplainable. I am honored to have you by my side." I say

I see her cheeks turn red, she's told me that's called blushing.

"Wens... that was the nicest thing I have ever heard you say." Enid says as she tears up.

"Crying will ruin your makeup" I say

She laughs.

"I suppose we should get going. We are the guest honor." I say

We walk downstairs through the living room. There's a secret entrance that's specifically for Enid and I to get on the stage. We get to the side of the stage and I do the signal to let my parents know that we are ready.

"Thank you for everyone coming out for the first night of The Addams Family Reunion." My mother starts off

Everyone starts to get quiet.

"The first time in a long time, we have a very special guest, well two of them. Something that even shocked us." My father says

"We all know Wednesday, our little storm cloud isn't so little anymore as she found her sunshine." My mother says

Everyone starts to cheer. I'm not doing this very willingly. I hate being the center of attention. I start to feel short of breath. Enid notices this and holds my hand and kisses me on the head.

"Please give Wednesday and Enid a nightmare welcome." My parents say.

Enid and I walk up to my parents. I just stand there and nod to acknowledge that I see everyone. I'm holding onto Enid pretty tight.

"As we all know, this next part is very important. It's time for the dance between the two love birds. Feel free to join." My mother says.

I guide Enid off the stage and to the dance floor.

"You ready my cucciola?" I ask as I get into the stance.

"Yes. I just hope I don't fall." Enid says with a chuckle.

I slightly smile, only visible to Enid.

The song starts and we dance. I'm pleased to see that Enid paid attention in our lessons. She hasn't missed a single step.

I admire her as we're dancing along. She's truly the greatest thing that has happened in my dark gloomy life. She the light my life has needed. The way her hair effortlessly flows with every movement she makes. Her smile shines so bright. Her laugh is the only one I can listen to all day. She makes me want to be a better person but only she will see this side of me.

The song comes to an end and everyone claps.

"You did good mi amor." I say as I pull her into a kiss

"I did have a great teacher." She says with a smile.

We find a corner to disappear off to so we can be alone. I don't like crowds. I barely tolerate my family.

"Your family knows how to party." Enid says as we watch members of my family consume alcohol and start playing games.

"It's rare we all get together like this. I always get away from it but this I did not have a choice. My parents threatened to take away my typewriter and knife collection if I didn't show." I say

"Sounds very on brand for you." Enid says with a laugh.

"I just want this night to be over. Actually I want the week to be over. Socializing like this, not a fan." I say

"I know you're not, if anything we could probably sneak outside and get away from everyone for a bit and then come back later." Enid suggests

"Wish it was that easy." I say

"Do they really have eyes on you like that?" She questions

"Yes." I respond

The night goes on as Enid and I continue to talk in our corner and some family members do approach us for a small conversation. I have a sense that my family does in fact like Enid. I definitely shocked everyone by finally finding someone to spend my life with.

The party finally ends and both Enid and I can go back to my bedroom to sleep. I get changed into black plaid pajama pants and a black shirt. Enid changes into pink shorts and a white t shirt.

"Cuddle?" Enid questions as she lays down.

I lay my head down on her chest and wrap my arm around her waist. I give her a kiss and put my head down.

"Goodnight Wens. I love you.." Enid said the last part so quietly

"Night Enid. I feel the same way." I say.

Her arms tighten around me and we both swiftly fell asleep.
