Wednesday's POV

I wake up earlier than Enid, thankfully. I need to spend time away from the wolf. These things that I am feeling, I'm not a fan of. Feelings are complicated that is why I don't do them.

We don't have class today so I go into the closet and put on black jeans with a black and white stripped shirt with black boots. I quietly make my way into Jericho. I have discovered there's a park here that has a walking trail. I can spend some of the day here to avoid facing Enid. Knowing Enid though, she won't leave it be.

I spend the morning taking a hike, stopping occasionally to watch the wildlife do their thing and making mental notes of anything interesting I see that would spark excitement within Eugene since he likes insects. I know Enid has to be awake now wondering where I disappeared to. I may go to the dorm for a quick minute when I return. Being out in the woods brings me peace of mind, no one is here to talk to me. Isolation is quite calming.

Enid's POV

I woke up with no sign of Wednesday. Damn. I want to know where she disappears off to. There's not even a note indicating where she went or when she'll be back. She must be going through something. I wonder if she's thinking about what she was reading in the library yesterday. I don't know what it is but being so far from her is driving me crazy. Maybe I'll hang with Yoko and Bianca to distract my mind.

I walk to Yoko's dorm and knock on the door.

"Hey bestie" Yoko says once she opened the door

"Hey, wanna hang?" I ask

"Of course!" She says

"OH! Also lets grab Bianca too. Have a girls day!" I say with excitement

"Okay sounds good! Lets go" Yoko says shutting the door behind her.

We arrive to Bianca's dorm and Yoko knocks on the door.

"Hey guys, whats up?" Bianca asks

"Wanna have a girls day with us?" I ask

"Absolutely, let's go!" She says with a smile

"Shall we go into Jericho?" I ask

Bianca and Yoko both agreed. We walk through Nevermore and start walking to Jericho. It sure is a beautiful day out.

"Let's go to the Weathervane" Yoko says

"Bet bet" Bianca says

"I could use some coffee." I say

We walk into the Weathervane and go to the counter to place our orders. We chose to sit in a back corner booth. As we wait for our drinks the door opens and Wednesday walk in.

"Hey look, your girlfriend is here" Yoko says with a smirk

"YOU AND WEDNESDAY ARE DATING????" Bianca whisper yells

"No." I respond back. I feel my face getting hot.

"Then why are you blushing?" The siren question

"My feelings towards Wednesday are uh complicated to say the least." I say looking down at the table

"They are not complicated, you are just in denial." Yoko says laughing.

"Hey Wednesday, wanna join?" Bianca says across the cafe

Wednesday finishes putting in her order and makes her way over to us.

"Why would I want to join?" Wednesday asks clearly annoyed

"You look like you could use some company" Bianca says

"Your company, no. Dracula's company, no." She says with her deadpan look

"What about Enid's company?" Yoko asks smirking

I feel my face getting hot again, thanks Yoko.

"Enid's company is tolerable." She says.

I look at Wednesday and she's already looking at me. We make eye contact and I swear her face had the tiniest hint of blush to it.

"Join us Wens, it won't kill you." I say maintaining eye contact

"Fine." Wednesday says as she sits next to me

"So, where did you go?" I ask

"I went on a very long hike." She responds

"You see anything interesting?" I ask

"I saw an eagle catch a rabbit to eat it." She responds.

"Eek" Bianca says.

As we're talking my hand accidentally brushed against Wednesday's on the seat. Startled her but she didn't move her hand away completely. This time I place my hand on top of hers to see her reaction. I look at her face and I could see some red appear on her face. Cute.

Wednesday surprises me by adjusting our hands where we're fully holding hands. OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG. I feel her eyes on me.

"Woah Enid, your face is red. Are you hot or something?" Bianca asks

"Uh sorta" I say barely being able to form a sentence.

I glance at Wednesday and she has a smirk on her face.

"I'm not feeling too well, I think I'm going to head back." I say.

"I'll come with you." Wednesday says

Both Wednesday and I get out of the booth and I turn to Yoko as shes mouthing "Love birds" and making kissing sounds. I roll my eyes in response.

Wednesday's POV

I walk back to the dorm with Enid. I didn't say much to her. She was the one doing most of the talking. I listen to every word she speaks. I may not always respond but I do pay attention. She understands how I work for the most part.

After a 15 minute walk back we finally arrive at the door. I go to my desk to start my writing time. Enid goes to her bed and starts watching a video.

"Silence would be appreciated, this is my writing time." I say without turning around.

"I'm not gonna just lay here and look at the wall for an hour Wednesday." She responds

I get up from my desk and walk halfway to her side of the room.

"Then do your homework." I say crossing my arms

Enid gets up from her bed and walks up to me.

"I already got it done." She says keeping eye contact.

I look at her lips and back up to her eyes.

"Do something that doesn't involve making noise, I have a novel to write." I say putting my arms back down

Enid doesn't respond right away.

"We're roommates, get used to noise coming from my side of the room. I can at least turn down the volume." Enid says

Roommates. All we ever will be.

"I can deal with that." I say turning around walking back to my desk.

Enid seemed satisfied with the compromise. She did turn the volume down. She keeps giggling at her phone though. I occasionally listen into what she's watching but it's not funny so who's making her laugh? I can't focus on my novel if she's laughing, it distracts me. Her laugh is like music to my ears.

"Enid." I say from my desk turning to look at her.

"Yes Wednesday." She responds

"What's making you laugh?" I question

"It's just the group chat with the girls, I can add you to it!" She says excitedly

"No, absolutely not." I respond

"Why notttttt" she says

"I don't want that death trap to keep going off due to your friends." I say

"Are you ever going to get along with them?" Enid asks

"No." I respond

"Fair enough." Enid says laughing.

I get up to leave so I can go to the library to figure out what exactly I am feeling. The one thing I really dislike is being confused. I will no longer be confused by some dumb thing called feelings.

"Where are you going?" Enid asks as I'm about to open the door.

"Investigating." I say

"I can come with." She says

"No, I'm okay." I say

"You're gone all morning and we literally just got back from Jericho 30 minutes ago and you're leaving again?" Enid says as she stands up

"I fail to see a problem here." I respond looking at her blankly

"You're right, theres no problem. Just forget I said anything." Enid says as she walks into the bathroom.

I stand there not being able to move. For once I'm stuck on if I should leave or stay, typically I'd just leave because I don't care about others but Enid is different.

I walk to the bathroom door and I knock.

"Enid?" I say through the door

"What do you want Addams" She says with an angry tone.

Here goes nothing.

"Care to accompany me and go on a walk through the woods?" I ask

Enid opens the door and we're now face to face.

"Just because I'm a wolf doesn't mean I'll get happy to go on a walk." She says crossing her arms.

"I'll take that as a no then." I say turning around

"Of course I'll come with you Wens." She says giggling

"Then why did you say that?" I question

"It's called sarcasm." She says.

Enid's POV

Wednesday and I get to the woods and find a bench that sits next to the water. I see her admiring everything around her. We stay sitting in silence for a little while. Just being in her presence calms me down. I haven't experienced any other symptoms of my heat yet and I'm nervous about the whole being horny 24/7 part. I know it's going to happen. My wolf instincts will be to act on them, my wolf instincts knows who my mate is and that will gravitate me towards them. Which in this case is Wednesday. I don't know how to warn her without scaring her.

"Hey can we talk about something?" I ask

"What's on your mind?" She asks

"Well uh so as a wolf, I will experience going through heat. That is common knowledge right?" I say

"Yes, very common knowledge. What about it?" She asks

"With heat comes with the desire to have sex" I explain

"That is also common knowledge Sinclair." She says.

I notice she's starting to twiddle her thumbs around. Is she anxious about what I'm going to say?

"I know the wolf inside of you will want to mate with the person that is meant to be your mate. Your inner wolf knows who is good for you and it will force you to gravitate towards them. You may act more protective towards them as you are in heat and you cannot be away from them for longer than 5 minutes without wanting to insane but the moment you're with them again you are better." Wednesday says

"Oh wow, so you're pretty well aware of all things wolf then." I say as I feel my face get warm

"I did my research shortly after I learned you were a wolf just so I know what to expect." She explains.

"In a wild situation, like hypothetical situation-" I say before getting cut off

"There's no hypotheticals here Sinclair." She says

"Okay, if I don't get that uh satisfaction I will be in heat for two months maybe longer since it's my first round." I say

"I am also aware of that." Wednesday says

I just stare at her, she just knows everything.

"Earth to Enid" Wednesday says as she looks at me

"That about covers it." I say.

"There's something else, you can try to deny it but I see through you Sinclair." She says

"How did you even know?" I ask

"The way you've been acting when it comes to me was a good indicator." She says

"It's getting late, I need my beauty rest." I say as a stumble to get up from the bench.

"I'm here for you, whatever you need." She says as she quickly gets up.

We walk back to the dorm not saying a word to each other. I feel like she's anticipating me asking her to be my mate. I don't know. My wolf wants her, but our friendship means the world to me. I don't know if I want to risk it.

We reach the dorm and I make my way into my bed and get adjusted. Wednesday does the same.

"Night Enid." I hear Wednesday say from the other side.

"Goodnight Wens." I say.

I feel like she's playing a mind game with me. She wants me to admit to my feelings first so she doesn't have to worry about the rejection. She knows exactly what she's doing. She may not understand emotions but she sure does understand psychology pretty well. This is a lot.

I need to update Yoko on this tomorrow.
