Seeing You Again

04:07, 5 August 2024

I sighed as a knock came to my door. Only a short while after I laid down in the cozy bed. It didn't wake me since I couldn't sleep but I didn't want to get up either.

"Solace?"

(Draco.) I got out of the bed and walked to the door.

When I opened it Draco looked me up and down, he physically relaxed and his eyes softened.

"My mother told me you were given a room." He glanced around the hall then back at me. "Can I come in?"

I nodded and moved so he could enter then closed the door. "I decided to join Voldemorts... side. That's why I'm here instead of..."

Draco stepped closer. "Are you alright?" I nodded, he lifted my chin with a finger. "Solace."

"I dont know." I shrugged. "I'm alright. I'm... I dont know."

Draco's finger under my chin dropped. "You did the right thing. You did what you had to do."

"I tired, Draco." I looked down at my fiddling fingers. "I'm still tired."

"How about you try and sleep?"

(Not that kind of tired.)"I already tried. I couldn't."

Draco's hands went in his pockets. "How about you eat something and try again?"

I shook my head. "No, I'm fine... Could you light the fireplace though? I don't have my wand or matches."

Draco smiled softly and took out his wand. "Yes." He walked over to the fireplace, crouched down and used his wand to light the fire. "Is it alright if I bring you food?" He stood back up and turned to me.

I walked to the fire. "I'm not hungry." Draco frowned slightly, I sat down on the floor and closed my eyes to the warmth coming from the fire.

My wings grew lighter, I opened my eyes and looked to Draco. "They still looked wet." He put his wand away.

I smiled softly. "Thank you."

Draco sat down next to me. "You have to eat."

"I know..." I watched the fire. "You always did care for me, secretly of course." I saw Draco fiddle with the bracelet in the corner of my eye, I smiled softly. "I see you learned a new habit."

"What?" I pointed to him messing with the chain. "Oh." He stopped. "Its a mindless action."

"I do the same with the necklace." I leaned my head on his shoulder and took a deep breath. "I still can't believe you got me something rare."

Draco chuckled. "I thought you would like it."

"I do, I love it... But I never had something worth so much before, it's scary." My eyes felt heavy. "Plus I had the fear Pansy would try and steal it."

"I wouldn't be surprised if she did."

"Mm." I hummed tiredly.

"Solace...." My eyes fluttered as Draco brushed the hair off my face. "I should go, you need rest."

"I'm not tired."

Draco breathed a laugh. "Obviously." He said sarcastically and put his arm behind me to keep me from falling back. "Solace." I hummed a response. "I... Thank you.". . .

I woke up after not realizing I fell asleep.I was still in front of the fire but in place of Draco was a pillow and a blanket was draped over me. In my line of sight there was a note, I lifted it up and read it after rubbing my eyes awake.

If you need anything I'm three doors down on the opposite side of the hall.- Draco

I smiled softly. (Thank you Draco.)

I looked to the window... it was night and the moon was hidden behind the dark gray clouds. I laid my head back on the pillow and just laid there to soak in the warmth of the fire. ---------

Next day and I was not looking forward to it, the start of my lessons on how to invade someone's mind...

Dumbledore is powerful and knows Occlumency like me....So how could I get in his mind?I might have skills at Legilimency but that doesn't mean I can do it. How am I different than anyone else?

•I was staring at the chess board that was sitting on the coffee table in front of me.All those nights and some day that I spent with Sirius on chess, since there really was nothing to do in his old home.

(I wonder how Sirius is... Does he miss me? I'm probably a burden off his hands like I am for everyone.)

The door opened and closed fast, my eyes widened as the man quickly walked to me with a serious face.

"At what point did you think leaving hiding was smart?" He scolded as he looked over me to check for any injuries.

"I'm fine, Severus."

"Don't lie to me." Snape seethed. "Do you know how it felt to not have the ability to help?" He whisper yelled. "The Aurors they sent couldn't find you anywhere and I can't..." He sighed and calmed down. "It's been three months, Solace."

I looked to my hands. "Why are you here Snape."

"I'm was ordered by the Dark Lord to teach you Legilimency." I nodded. "You won't believe the chaos you caused with your disappearance."

(They probably missed me because I was the one to take the fall for everything.)"I'm sure I was sorely missed. Can you start teaching me now?"

"It's always something with you." Snape complained and eyed me. "Are you alright?"

I huffed. "I'm not your problem anymore, Snape. Now start the lesson."

Snape reached in his pocket and handed me a familiar mirror. "Call him. Now." He demanded.

I eyed the mirror. "Why?

"Now, Solace." He dropped it in my lap, I looked at him, he looked at me sternly. "Now."

I looked at the mirror in my lap and picked it up. "He might be busy."

"Doing what exactly? Cleaning is house?"

I sighed and stood up. "I don't know." I opened the mirror and walked across the room. "Sirius?"

Immediately Sirius appeared in the mirror. "Olivia, thank Merlin." He said relieved. "Are you alright? Are you hurt?"

"Olivia." Lupin scooted in with Sirius. "What were you thinking by leaving the house?" He scolded.

I sighed. "I'm fine." Sirius eyed me. "You don't have to worry about me."

"Olivia, you are to important not to care about." Lupin said. "We have been worried sick."

I looked out the window. "It isn't your job to worry about me.. I'm fine, I'm being taken care of."

"Olivia-."

"I'm fine." I looked back to the mirror with both of them looking at me in disbelief. "I'm fine, alright."

Lupin looked at Sirius and gave a nod before walking away, Sirius narrowed in on me. "I don't think I can reach the mirror if I turn into a dog." He gave a sad smile.

"I should go. Snape has to... I need to go."

Sirius frowned. "Olivia-."

"Bye, Sirius." I closed the mirror.

(I can't associate with him or anyone else. Voldemort is not merciful, if he can't get to me he will turn to those around me... But he promised Sirius will go unharmed...But who would truly trust Voldemort?)

"Solace?" I blinked out of my thoughts and turned to Snape. "Should we start the lesson?"

I nodded. "Yea." I walked back over and held out the mirror to him.

"I hope the future shows you the truth to the lies forced into you." Snape took the mirror back.

I sat back down. "Just start the lesson, Snape."

Snape placed the mirror in his pocket. "As you wish... Legilimency, the act of navigating through the many layers of a person's mind and correctly interpreting one's findings."

I nodded. "Do you need a wand?"

"Like anything you will need to practice... But as the Dark Lord said, you are very powerful Solace."

"Sure."
