Three Schools of Magic

04:07, 5 August 2024

We see four Pegasuss flying through the air pulling a carriage coming in to land at Hogwarts. "Oh, my god." I smiled.

"Well there's something you don't see every day." Mione smiled and watched the carriage fly.

A large ship emerges from under the water and approaches too, my eyes widened. "An underwater pirate ship." I chuckled.

Mione grabbed my arm. "We have to change into our robes."

I nodded. "Harry. Ron. Time to come back to reality." Mione pulled me away.

"Reality?" Harry scoffed as he turned from the ship to us. "I haven't been to reality since I was 11." He followed and Ron reluctantly followed.

We made it to the boys and girls changing rooms and walked in, I changed into my Slytherin robes that I had to get refitted during our trip to Diagon Alley. When I meant I grew I meant it, the whole robe had to be remeasured again.

"Mione?" I packed my normal clothes into the bag.

"Yea?"

"Do you know what the underwater boat and Pegasus pulling carriage was about?" I stepped out of the stall.

"No." She moved out of her stall and straightened her uniform in the mirror opposite of the stall. "But I'm sure we will fine out soon."

I smiled. "I can't believe this is our fourth year. Mostly my third but I still can't believe it."

Mione smiled and turned to me, straightening my tie. "We must make this year count then." She linked our arms and lead us out of the changing rooms.

"About time." Ron scoffed. "Why do girls take so long?"

We threw out bags in the magical shoot that somehow took our bags directly to our chambers. "We take our time instead of rushing." I smiled and looked at his uncared dressing.

"Come on guys." Mione smiled and pulled me along to the Great Hall.

There we found a seat and waited for the opening speech, the twins sat down. "Blyme, Olivia. Might as well join Gryffindor while your at it."

I chuckled. "It would but I like my house. I just hate the students in it."

The chattering stopped as McGonagall walked in the first years, they were sorted and the chattering started again to welcome the new people.

After a couple minutes Dumbledore stood up and walked to the podium. "Now we're all settled in and sorted, I'd like to make an announcement. This castle will not only be your home this year but home to some very special guests as well. You see Hogwarts has been choosen..."

Filch runs up the aisle limping in a comical way, he whispers something to Dumbledore and leaves in the same fashion.

"So Hogwarts has been choosen to host a legendary event. The Tri-Wizard tournament." Students murmured at the news. "Now for those of you who do not know, the tri-wizard tournament brings together three schools for a series of magical contests. From each school a single contestant is selected to compete. Now let me be clear, if choosen you stand alone. And trust me when I say these contests are not for the faint hearted, but more of that later. For now please join me in welcoming the lovely ladies of the Beauxbatons Academy of magic and their headmistress Madam Maxime."

The Great Hall doors open and a group of girls dressed in blue dance up the aisle.

"Bloody hell." Ron watched them with a smile.

Every couple feet they bowed and released butterflies into the air.

My brows raised. "What's that spell?"

Mione shook her head. "No idea."

The girls got to the front and did one last bow before taking their seats, Dumbledore walked to, whom I am guessing is, Madam Maxime and kissed her on the back of her hand before motioning for her to take a seat at the head table.

Dumbledore turned back to us. "And now our friends from the north, please greet the proud sons of Durmstrang and the high master Igor Karkaroff."

The doors opened again, series of older boys walk up the aisle brandishing bo staffs, twirling them around and periodically stabbing them into the ground with a spark effect.

They put their staffs on the ground and ran to the front, cartwheels and flips as they made their way.

My eyes widened. "That's hot." Mione elbowed me, I chuckled. "What?"

"Blimey it's him, Viktor Krum!" Ron fan-boyed.

Krum, who I recognize from the Quidditch game, and two other men walked in at the same time the boys in the front of the hall blew fire from a stick, creating a flaming bird from it.

Dumbledore and the older gentlemen, who I now guess is Igor embraced in a hug before Igor took his seat at the head table.

"Now." Dumbledore said to us. "Let the feast.. begin." Food appeared on the table.

Ron and Harry began to dig in, I chuckled. At least one thing never changes." I said to Hermione as we calmly platted our own food.

The Great Hall opened again and six men carried in a large gothic golden cylinder shaped item and placed it down on the front stage in front of Dumbledores podium.

We all ate our meals, dessert appeared and after more time for us to eat Dumbledore stood up from his chair and walked around the table to the front.

"Your attention please!" Dumbledore stood next to the mystery item. "I would like to say a few words.... Eternal glory, that is what awaits the student who wins the tri-wizard tournament. But to do this that student must survive three tasks. Three extremely dangerous tasks."

""Wicked."" The twins said.

"For this reason the ministry has seen fit to impose a new rule." Dumbledore continued as a man walked in the side door and another man walked around the table to the front. "To explain all this we have the head of the department of international magic cooperation Mister Bartimus Crouch."

Thunder roars overhead, rain begins leaking through the roof and screams break out. The strange man in the doorway casts a spell to magic the storm away.

Rons eyes widened. "Bloody hell, it's Mad-Eye Moody."

"Alastor Moody?" Mione asked. "The aura."

Ron nodded. "He was a catcher. Half the cells in Azkaban are full thanks to him. He's supposed to be mad as a hatter though these days."

Mad-Eye limped with his one fake leg to Dumbledore and spoke shortly before walking over to the wall the secretly takes out a bottle and takes a drink.

"What's that he's drinking do you suppose?"

"I don't know but I don't think it's Pumpkin Juice." Harry said, I frowned and eyed Moody.

Mustashe man from the Quidditch event walked up. "After much deliberation the ministry has concluded that for their own safety no student under the age of seventeen shall be allowed to put forth their name for the tri-wizard tournament." The crowd is unsettled, people are booing. "This decision is final."

"That's rubbish!" George yelled. "You don't know what you're doing!"

Dumbledore stepped forward. "Silence!" He yelled to the complaining students, Crouch moved back and let Dumbledore take the lead. Dumbledore then casts magic over the mystery box which melted, revealing a goblet containing a blue flame. "The goblet of fire. Anyone wishing to submit themselves for the tournament merely write their name upon a piece of parchment and throw it in the flame before this hour on Thursday night. Do not do so lightly, if choosen there's no turning back. As from this moment the tri-wizard tournament has begun."
