Friends or Not

04:07, 5 August 2024

It was either Snape did nothing or Dumbledore did nothing...

But the point is nothing happened and I still saw Ginny writing in that book. Snape said he would take care of it but it has been two days. Maybe it isn't important enough but it's affecting Ginny, she's not herself.

I'm not the type to let nothing happen, and the way Ginny looks at me and writes in her book is unnerving. So instead of waiting around like, how I believe, Snape is I'm going to go visit Dumbledore and figure out this mess. Because someone has to....

I walked up to the Gryffindor statue. "Sherbet Lemon." It started to reveal the stairs, I walked forward as they opened.

When I got to the top I knocked on the door. "Come in." I turned the knob and opened the door. "Ah, Olivia." Dumbledore stood up from his desk as I walked over. "To what do I owe the pleasure?"

I smiled. "I have something to tell you." Dumbledore motioned to the chair, I sat down

He took his seat back and leaned into it. "What is it you wish to tell me?"

"Well, first I need to tell you that last year when I first met Professor Quirrell I sensed... Like something filthy in a way. I can't explain it but I guess my gut was right because he is gone this year."

Dumbledore nodded. "Go on."

I nodded. "I felt that feeling again. It's with a book though, I don't know how a book could have a bad feeling but it does." I shrugged.

"And this book is?"

"With Ginny Weasley, she has been writing in it all year and I believe it is effecting her. She isn't the same."

Dumbledore sat up and leaned on his desk. "Have you, confronted Ginny about this book?"

I nodded. "Only once and she seems really attached to it."

"I will handle this but I want you to stay away. You have already gotten yourself in trouble once this year." Dumbledore eyed me.

I smiled. "It's a habit that for some reason I can't get rid of."

Dumbleodre smiled softly. "Thank you for telling me."

(You already knew.)I stood up. "Have a good day."

"Good day, Olivia."

We gave a goodbye nod and I walked back to the door, down the steps, and to the...Library? Or Great Hall? Where would Mione be?Maybe she is with Harry and Ron in the Gryffindor common room.

"Hey!"

(I can not deal with this rollercoaster relationship anymore.)I groaned and turned around. "What?"

Draco walked up to me. "What's your problem?" His brows furrowed.

"You... You are my problem Draco..." I scowled and continued to walk. "It is like every time we talk you switch between a bully and a friend. And I can't figure out which you are and it's tiring."

Draco scoffed. "You're lucky to be able to talk to me."

I stopped and turned to him. "Draco, I don't care if your a Pureblood or a rich Malfoy." I scoffed. "The only thing I care about is that you show me who you are and I'll I've seen is a facade you've created."

Draco glared. "There is no facade."

"Yes there is. You contradict your words and actions all the time." I chuckled annoyedly. "A friend is someone who you dare to be yourself with, and you haven't shown me the real you. You hide it away with the bullying, the name calling."

A boy walked passed with a group of friends. "You good, Olivia?" I raised a brow.

"What do you want, Diggory?" Draco scowled.

(Diggory? Isn't that the boys name who Flint called my boyfriend?)

Diggory eyed Malfoy then looked at me. "Come on." He waved me over.

I looked back at Draco, he glared at the Diggory boy. "I'm tired of this." Draco turned back to me. "If you want to be my friend then you stop pretending with me. I'm not here to make fake friends who bully me." I glanced at the boy and walked away from all of them.

I walked to the library and went to the corner isolated 'Don't Bother Me' area and moved the chair so I could prop my legs into the windowsill and hold a book against my legs like a podium.

"Hey, Olivia?" I turned to see the Diggory boy walked up to me. "Long time no see." He chuckled and moved a chair to sit next to me. "You good?"

"Yea, Draco was just being Draco." I eyed him to see if I could get some memory of him. "So, Diggory. Funny thing."

He raised a brow. "Diggory? What happened to Ced?"

I smiled. "What happened was someone decided to try a memory charm on me and erased everything from the troll attack last year to... maybe like 2 months ago?"

Ceds brows rose. "Someone took your memories?" I nodded. "Who?" I shrugged. "So you remember nothing?"

"I mean you look familiar. Did I ask you for directions once?"

Ced chuckled. "Yea, last year you asked where Headmasters office was." I nodded and looked at my book. "Well then. My name is Cedric Diggory, fourth year, Hufflepuff and quidditch seeker." He held out a hand.

I shook it. "Olivia Kimberly, you can call me whatever you want and I'm in my second year but also relearning my first."

"Oh, the torture." Cedric joked, I smiled. "It was nice to meet you again, Olivia."

"Same but for the future make sure you know I am not a damsel in distress. Alright? I can handle myself."

Cedric smiled. "That's what I'm afraid of." I rolled my eyes. "I have to go back. I just wanted to make sure you were alright."

I nodded. "I survived Draco once and I can do it many more times."

Cedric stood up. "I'll see you around."

(Cedric seems nice, he looks kind.)I smiled. "Bye." He walked away, I went back to reading.

(Should I return these books since they are Draco's? Maybe I should focus on last year and finish the books sooner.)

I got up and changed the current curriculum books with last years books than sat back down. Reading is definitely not as amazing as doing it hands on but this is what I have to do.

Through the day some students came back to my little nook of the library, some coming back here for the not studying reasons but for the 'we are hiding from adults so we can make out' reasons.

Most of them huff at me and find a different spot, that is at least what I am guessing. But a few, rare, students actually come to pick out a book.

"There you are." Mione huffed and walked over to me. "Must you always come here?"

I smiled. "It's my little study cave." I took my legs off the windowsill and turned to the boys who stood at the entrance of the study cave. "Have you all come to take me off to dinner?"

"I'm starving." Ron said, I rolled my eyes.

"You're always starving." Mione said back and turned to me. "You ready?"

I looked back to my book then at her. "I just have two more chapter until I'm done. I can meet you there, I'm a fast eater anyways."

"That's because you barely eat anything." Mione scolded, I smiled. "Fine." She stood up. "Just get there before desert."

"Get there before Ron eats everything." Harry joked.

"Hey." Ron complained.

I smiled. "I'll just be a few minutes. I need to finish last year before I end up failing this year."

"You're to smart to fail, Liv." Mione said. "We'll see you there."

I smiled, they all gave a smile and left. I turned back to the night sky out the window and put my feet back on the sill.
