You Must Be A Malfoy
04:07, 5 August 2024This summer was the best summer I have ever had, it was calm, no violence or yelling. It was filled with fun, the makeover and helping cook like a real family would.
Hermione and I were still connected at the hips like in school when we went places.
I ended up going to a store with her and buying more muggle notebooks, pens and pencils since mine were running out of ink. I also ended up buying walkie talkies for Hermione and I so we can communicate across the castle when we are in our rooms.
She thought it was a brilliant idea since we are unfortunately not in the same house, but we both wouldn't change our houses. Me because I don't care about houses and I like Snape as the leader and her because she likes being a lion and Professor McGonagall, plus Ron and Harry are in that house.
Now we are shopping again but this time in Diagon Alley for our school supplies since our Hogwarts letters finally arrived with our school list.
I received a letter from Dumbledore telling me he apparently started a tab of sorts with the stores, all I need to do is give my name and they will ring me up, send the bill to him, and send me off.
•We were in the bookshop getting books when the Weasleys entered, I poked Hermiones shoulder she turned and smiled. "Ron." She walked over, I followed.
Ron looked sad. "We lost Harry."
Hermione hit him with her book. "What do you mean you lost Harry?"
Ron shrugged. "We used floo powder and he didn't say it right."
Hermione tsked. "We have to go find him." She turned to her parents. "Mom, Dad. We have to go find Harry!"
"Alright. Stay together."
"Muggle parents." Mr. Weasley smiled and walked over. "Hello." He said to the Grangers.
I rolled my eyes and turned back to the group. "Come on Liv." Hermione pulled me along, through the crowds and out the door. "He can't be to far."
"Did Ron tell you what Harry said?" We walked into the next store over which sold animals. "I don't see him."
Hermione groaned. "Ron didn't tell me what Harry said." She walked back out of the shop and spotted Harry. "Harry. Hagrid. It's great to see you."
Harry walked up to us with a smile. "It's great to see you too." Harry looked at me. "Hi, Olivia."
I smiled. "Hello, Harry. Why is it your glasses are always broken when we meet?" Harry shrugged.
Hermione smiled. "What did you do?" She took out her wand. "Oculus Reparo."
Harry's glasses fixed themselves, Harry smiled. "I'll definitely need to remember that one."
"Yea, you do." I chuckled under my breath.
"You'll be alright now, Harry?" Hagrid asked, Harry nodded, Hagrid nodded. "I'll leave you to it then." He walked away.
Hermione grabbed Harry's wrist. "Come on. Everyone is waiting for you." She pulled him back to the shop.
I smiled. "Harry Potter, the boy who always needs an escort."
"Oh, shut it." Harry groaned.
We walked back into the book shop where the crowds were more dense and a line was formed. "Hey, Mione." They both turned to me, I shook my head. "I'm going to stay out of the jumbled mess of people."
She nodded. "Don't run away."
"I won't." She smiled and walked with Harry to the Weasleys. I looked up to see Draco leaned on the loft railing, a smirk making its way to his face as we connected eyes. "Of course." I shook my head and made my way up the stairs and over to Draco, I leaned on the rail. "How's Pureblood doing?"
Draco turned his head to me. "Don't tell me the Mudblood swoons over, Lockhart."
My brows furrowed. "Lockhart?"
"Ladies and gentlemen. Gilderoy Lockhart." Everyone clapped as someone appeared but he was under the loft and out of my view.
"Seems someone is popular." I scoffed.
"The ladies swoon over him. It seems your mud- Granger seems to like him."
I looked down to see Hermiones smile as if she was seeing a dream man. "It's weird she never told me about this Lockhart."
Someone took a picture, the clapping died down. "It can't be... Harry Potter."
"Harry Potter." The photographer exclaimed and grabbed Harry's cloak, forcing him to this Lockhart everyone seems to love.
"Potter." Draco spat. "Always getting attention everywhere he goes."
"Big smile Harry. This will be in the front page." The photo was taken. "Ladies and gentlemen, what extraordinary moment this is. When young Harry, stepped into Flourish and Blotts this morning to purchase my autobiography, magical me." Everyone clapped.
My jaw clenched. "That bastard is using Harry to sell his work." Draco turned to me with a smirk. "I need to see this Lockhart." I leaned off the railing and walked to the steps.
"Which incidentally celebrating its 27th on top of the Daily Prophet bestseller list. He had no idea that he would be in fact leaving with my, entire collected works." I saw this man hand Harry a pile of books. "Free of charge." Everyone clapped.
I hated his smile, a smile that hid lies, a manipulative smile. "He's a fraud."
"I guess you don't care for Lockhart." Draco stepped around me and then to the next stair down in front of me.
"Not at all." Draco picked up a book and read it. "You would be better company then him."
"Oh, really?" Draco ripped out the page from the book and closed it, he looked over to see Harry. "I bet you loved that didn't you, Potter." He rushed down the stairs and in front of Harry to block him.
"Here we go again." I walked down the steps.
"Famous Harry Potter." Draco spat. "Can't even go to a bookstore without making the front page."
Ginny stepped forward I eyed the man walking up behind Draco. "Leave him alone." Ginny scowled.
I walked closer to the man. "Oh look Potter, you got yourself a girl-."
The man raised his cane, my eyes widened thinking he was going to hit Draco. "Hey!" I stepped forward, pushing the cane away with my hand. "What kind of man raises a cane against another person."
"Stop." Draco whispered and pulled me away from the man. "Sorry, Father." (Father?!)
"Mm." Draco's father eyed me then turned to Harry with a small smile. "Mr. Potter. We meet at last." He held a hand out, Harry grabbed to shake it. "Lucius Malfoy. Forgive me-." He pulled Harry closer with his cane pointed up.
I went to move forward, Draco stopped me. "Don't." He warned, I looked at him.
Lucius used the snake of his cane to push Harry's hair back. "Your scar is legend. As of course the wizard who gave it to you."
"Voldemort killed my parents." Harry backed away, Lucius's face dropped to a scowl. "He is nothing more than a murderer." I smiled at Harry's bravery.
"You must be very brave to mention his name. Or really foolish." Lucius smiled slightly and smugly.
"Fear of a name only increases the fear of the thing itself." Hermione pipped in, I smiled at her and turned my gaze back to Lucius.
Lucius turned to her. "And you must be-." He turned to Draco for confirmation. "Miss Granger." Draco nodded slightly, Lucius turned back to Hermione. "Yes Draco has told me all about you. And your parents." Hermione glanced at her parents, my jaw clenched. "Muggles aren't they." He turned to the Weasleys. "Let me see. Red hair, vancant expressions." He picked up Ginny's book. "Tatty second hand book. You must be the Weasleys."
I pushed Draco out of the way. "That enough." I scowled, Lucius looked at me. "Now I see where Draco gets his attitude but you seem to be more of a bigoted old man who radiates power when all he feels is worthlessness and fear."
He demeanor dropped and he glared at me, Mr. Weasley walked up. "Children, it's mad in here. Let's go outside."
Lucius looked to Mr. Weasley. "Well, well, well, Weasley Senior."
"Lucius." He said back.
"Busy time at the ministry, Arthur. All those extra raids, I do hope they are paying you overtime." My jaw clenched. "Judging by the state of this, I'd say, not. What's the use to being a disgrace to the wizard, if they don't even pay you well for it?" I moved-
Draco stopped me and turned. "Don't make it worse."
I looked at Draco. "You are just like your father." Draco's face fell. "Almost like déjà vu."
"We have a very different idea of what disgraces the name of wizard, Malfoy."
"Clearly. Associating with muggles." Lucius shook his head and put Ginny's book back. "And I thought your family could sink no lower."
"Bastard." Lucius turned to me, I smiled. "Why don't you first work on cleaning your own house before complaining about others. Because from here I see your house is filthy with rotted wood."
Lucius smiled. "At least I have a house." I frowned, Lucius looked at Draco. "Your words don't at all match her character at all, Draco."
I chuckled. "I would be surprised if you could imagine anything with that narrow mind of yours. Such a miserable life you have, surrounded by darkness." I looked him up and down. "And fear."
Lucius jaw clenched, Mr. Weasley stepped in between. "Good day, Lucius."
Lucius glanced between me and Mr. Weasley until they stayed on him. "I'll see you at work." He turned to the door and walked out.
"I'll see you at school." Draco said to me.
I grabbed his wrist, he looked at me. "Are you alright?"
Draco ripped himself out of my grasp. "Back off, Mudblood." I frowned, Draco walked away, giving Harry and Ron one more scowl before walking out the door.
They all turned to me, I shrugged. "I told you I can't handle people when they get me mad."
