Sorts

Big doors opened to a huge room with four long tables with students, the woman, McGonagall, led us through and up to the stairs. "It not real the ceiling. It's just bewitched to look like the night sky." I looked up to see what Hermione was telling me about. "I read about it in Hogwarts history." She said as we walked down the path.

We came closer to the front. "Which one is Dumbledore?" I asked Hermione, she pointed to the man in the middle seat.

We stopped and McGonagall turned to us. "Wait along here please. Now before we begin Professor Dumbledore would like to say a few words."

The humble looking man, stood up with his long white beard and hair. "Just a few start of term notices I wish to announce. The first years please not that the dark forest is strictly forbidden for all students. Also our caretaker, Mr. Filch, has asked me to remind you that the the third floor corridor on the right hand side is out of bounds. To everyone who does not wish to die a most painful death... Thank you."

(This was a good choice right? I mean I left to come to a place with a dark forest and painful death.... It doesn't matter, maybe I wont get to stay.)

McGonagall opened a scroll. "When I call your name, you will come forth, I shall place the sorting hat on your head." She picked up the hat. "And you will be sorted into you're houses." She looked at the scroll.

"Hermione Granger." Hermione walked up, sat down, and the hat was lowered. "Gryffindor!" The hat exclaimed, Hermione smiled and went to her table.

"Draco Malfoy." Draco walked up, sat down, and the hat was lowered. Before the hat even touched it exclaimed. "Slytherin!" Draco smirked and went to his table, I internally groaned.

"Olivia Kimberly." I walked up the stairs and sat down, the hat placed on my head.

The hat moved on my head. "Well, you seem to already know where you want to go.... Slytherin!"

I got off the stool, Ron and Harry gave a worried look and I walked to the table that was cheering for their new member... me.

As soon as I sat down I was getting pats on the back and my eyes widened, my body moved away. "Don't touch me." I growled, they all looked at me with wide eyes. I caught Draco's curious ones, I sighed and looked away to my new...Friends?... Unfortunately all of them made it into Gryffindor.

"Seems you need some new friends." I turned to Draco sitting across from me.

I eyed him. "Don't think I'd be friends with you, I left hell I'm not about to invite it back in." He glared at me but was confused by my last sentence, he didn't leave, I sighed. "Sorry. First off I don't trust people, second I never stay long enough to keep friends, and third I don't wish to be friends with someone who feels the need to bully and put people below them."

Draco scoffed. "Then you aren't in the right house." I frowned, he smirked.

Glass was clanged and everyone turned to the front. "Your attention please."

Albus Dumbledore stood up, and raised his arms. "Let the feast begin."

Food appeared on the table, my eyes widened. The table was filled with plates and bows full of more food than I ever saw, wondering how it could fit on this table.

Everyone started to dig in, I was still wrapping my brain around the food. Never before have I seen so much... Never before have I even had the chance to see let alone be in the presence of so much.

I eyed the food. "Well, go on." Draco scoffed. "There is no invitation needed."

I reached forward, stopping, and retracting to pick up a roll. Draco raised a brow. "I already ate a big meal before coming here."

"You do realize we were all just on a train for hours." Draco scoffed. "You should come up with a better lie."

I bit into my bread. "Sorry I didn't want to hurt your feelings and say your presence makes me want to hurl." I snarled. "Unless you would like some vomit with your gel covered hair."

Draco glared. "Fine, don't eat. See if I care."

I rolled my eyes. "Like you'd ever care for anyone but yourself." I stood up.(That was wrong. He doesn't seem to be a bad person. I'll worry about it later if I end up staying.)

He raised a brow. "Where are you going?"

"None of your business." I left the bench and headed to the front table.

A man with black hair, and black robes eyed me as I walked closer. "What are you doing?" His low voice asked as I came closer to the table.

"Walking." He raised a brow. "Breathing, talking, minding my own business and wish you wouldn't get involved with mine."

(Fuck! What is wrong with me. I need to calm down. No one is going to hurt me.)I was aware that he was a teacher or something but he doesn't need to get involved with my private life and I am very defensive since I have no idea where I am.

(Maybe I wont stay, maybe I shouldn't since I am already messing everything up.)

I walked passed him and over to Dumbledore. "Headmaster Dumbledore?" I crouched down between his and McGonagall's chair.

He turned and looked at me. "Miss Kimberly, is it?"

I nodded. "I need to speak with you in private as soon as I can... Please."

"Yes, well why don't you stay after the meal and we will talk." I nodded, he smiled kindly. "Go on and eat, Miss Kimberly." (He's seems nice. Just like Hermione described. But he seems to be hiding something.)

I nodded. "Thank you, Headmaster."

I stood up and walked back the way I came, slowing down as I passed a man with a wrapped head and bad vibes. Something was definitely off, just bad air or something, maybe I'm smelling that bundle of scarves on his head--

"Yes?" The goth teacher said in a low deadpanned voice.

I looked at him. "Sorry about early." I eyed the man with the wrapped cloth, he looked at me. "Who are you?" I growled defensively.

His fingertips bounced off each other. "P-P-Profffessor Quirrell."

I glared at him. "Hmm." My demeanor went back to defensive at his aura, I crossed my arms and looked at the goth man who had a raised brow. "Who is he?"

"Professor Quirrell." He squinted his eyes. "Why?"

I looked at the Professor. "No..." I squinted my eyes, the Professor eyed me. "He's faking." He glared, I uncrossed my arms and smiled knowingly. "Ah, I'm right."

"You should go back to the Slytherin table." Goth teacher urged, I looked at him. "Now before I give you detention for your disrespect."

I frowned. "Sorry..." I eyed Quirrell once more and walked back to the table.

Once I took my seat Draco decided to put a chicken leg on my plate, I raised a brow. "I didn't poison it." A girl came and sat down next to Draco, and glared at me. "Congrats for being Slytherin, Pansy."

"I knew I would." She eyed me. "Who are you?" She scooted slightly closer to Draco.

I rolled my eyes. "If your going to be a jealous you can leave. I'm not in the mood to handle someone..." I looked at her hair cut and raised a brow. "You should change the hair. You're beautiful but the hair isn't meant for you."

Pansy brushed her hair behind her ear. "Thanks.." I nodded. "Where are you from?"

I picked the meat off the chicken bone. "No where special." I ate a piece of chicken.

She totally ignored and turned back to Draco. "Are you excited to be here? I missed you over the summer." I rolled my eyes and ate another piece of chicken.

"It's not much excitement when I knew I was going to be here. My father said the all Malfoys go to Slytherin." Draco said proudly. "What about you, Kimberly?"

I shrugged. "I'm not to sure if my... parents, went to Hogwarts."

Draco's brows furrowed. "They never told you?"

I stood up and grabbed my bag. "Sorry but I never got to have a life story talk with them before they decided to abandon me." Draco's smirk fell, and I moved down to the end of the table, pulling out the only book I had to read.
