Ch 68

"Hey, remember me?" 

I stopped in my tracks, frozen by the unwanted and unwarranted person talking to me. 

"Recognize my voice?" 

It definitely is familiar, I have heard it before. Who are they? 

"Aww! You forgot me, that's so sad." 

I snapped my neck in the direction where the voice was, only to find out it was coming from every and all directions. How? How was that possible? 

"You should though, I did give you this second life." 

"..." 

I was actually speechless. I didn't know how to react or respond in this situation. 

"God." 

I frowned to myself, I think i got that. No need to spell it out. I was utterly exhausted. Why is this crazy thing back? 

"I'm back because I finally found a way for you to go home." 

And they can read my mind, just great- Wait. 

Wait! 

"What did you just say?" Did I hear that right? I could feel the God give a cocky smirk. 

"I found a way to get you back to your world." 

Seriously? After all this time, after almost 16 years here you come back now? You couldn't have done this before I made relationships and friends? And also, "But didn't I d-" 

"You still have a chance." They interrupted me. 

"Then how should I-" 

"You have to make sure that the plot continues right until the end, the exact way you remember it. That means no killing important characters and no saving important characters." 

That puts me at such a disadvantage. These rules are bullshit. Also they need to stop interrupting me, I don't care if you can hear my thoughts. Stop it. 

"I'm sorry man, but how should I believe you? You kinda tried to kill a kid because she killed a squirrel. I'm just saying, you have questionable thoughts. Besides, how do I know if I did something I wasn't supposed to?" 

Even though I can't see the God I feel like I know all their expressions and feelings. The most prominent one is great amusement. 

"You'll know, you will definitely know." 

But I like won't unless it's something supernatural or something like that. "That doesn't explain anything, plus aren't you God. Can't you see the future? Why do you need-" 

"I can see the future, but only if you're not in it. You are not of this world, so you do not abide by the rules. You can decide what to do. You just have to pray that your choice isn't the wrong one." 

Oh my God. Oh my God! Why can't you just let me finish!!? 

"You're going to make me pray? To you?" I laugh in utter disbelief. 

"Nah, pray to fate." 

What the fuc- 

"Fate? Are you telling me this was my fate?" 

Silence. 

"Hey! You can't just leave!" I swear, I swear on my life. Killing Gods is already on my bucket list, don't make it go higher. Who am I kidding? 

With Shikaku still knocked out and my time running out I have no time to think about this. God damn it. I start rummaging through the hokage's office searching for that one specific thing I want. His office is filled with many forbidden scrolls, in which lie the secrets to many techniques. 

After a few minutes, I finally found it. 

Flying thunder god. 

I chuckled as I quickly wrote down everything and put it right back where I found it. I was about to leave before I stopped, looking at Shikaku. He was just protecting the office, so I will spare him some mercy. 

I got a seal with some medical ninjutsu in it and wrapped it around his head. He will wake up in a minute. He won't be too happy when he wakes up, but his headache won't be too painful. 

Jumping out of the window I ran across the rooftops of houses and apartments to the forest. While running past a particular building I heard a scream. 

"God damn it," I frowned. Not everyone went to see the Chunin exams. They could be trapped or hurt. 

Even though I was on a time limit, I still ran in to help. I did say I was going to live and enjoy my life, you can't do that by making others suffer. 

I kicked open the door and covered my mouth when the smell of smoke hit me. There was a woman in her living room, just standing there scared out of her mind. 

"My baby! My baby!" She kept screaming like she was in a trance. 

It seemed like her shock wore off as she went to a door on the left and tried opening it. She went straight into the fire to try and get her kid, burning herself in the process. 

I pushed her back so she wouldn't get hurt and raised my leg, kicking the door down. I ran inside to see a little girl about three years old, just crying on the ground. It doesn't seem like she inhaled too much smoke yet, thank god. 

I gingerly picked her up, "we're going to your mom now." 

I heard a crack. 

I snapped my head to the ceiling as it finally buckled and broke under the heat of the fire. I jumped with the girl in my hands and flipping out of the wreckage and out of the falling debris. 

I checked to see if the girl was fine before I picked up the mother and ran out of the house that was almost engulfed in flames. 

"You and your daughter might have inhaled some smoke, make sure to find a medical ninja as soon as possible." The mother, now a little calmer, nodded at my words as I jumped away. 

As I was about to leave, I felt a kunai graze my leg. I grunted and stopped at the edge of a building. It was slightly bleeding but it wasn't a problem that would hinder my escape. 

"Ishi," Kakashi and Guy jumped in front of me. They were bloody and bruised, but not as much as what they did to the other Suna ninja. 

I chuckled, "nice to see you so soon. I was hoping for a clean exit." 

They didn't say anything. 

I frowned, "alright, no jokes." 

Kakashi glared at me. "You helped kill the Hokage." 

Did Kakashi want to blame me? He wanted to blame me for his death? For all of this? 

"Kakashi, I did nothing. I didn't plan for this, or even contribute," I frowned. Honestly I tried to make Orochimaru weaker without his knowledge. 

"You knew, yet you didn't stop it. You're as bad as them," Kakashi sneered. 

I scoffed and glared at him, "you know, I hate that troup. Just because I didn't say or do anything, I'm just as bad, huh?" 

Plus what was I supposed to do, who was I supposed to tell. I have no one on my side who I could trust. 

I rolled my eyes, "he didn't deserve to die, I admit that. But he did deserve something. He was stupid, ignorant and too trusting. His trusting and kind nature made this mess. His trusting and kind nature was to let the Uchiha clan handle their own problems. And look how both that and this turned out. I. did. Nothing. He dug his own grave. He wasn't innocent." 

Kakashi looked pissed, but he didn't even say anything. He probably couldn't. Because I was right. 

I sighed, "You can catch me another time, think of your village. Think of the people, the innocent. Are you really going to waste time catching me when you could be helping them?" 

Kakashi and Guy didn't move, and neither did I. After a bit of silence I frowned, "fine, I'll make the choice for you." 

I throw down a smoke bomb, disappearing from their eyes once again.
