Ch 43

"How was it?" I was finally back from the Sand village.

I was just about done with the heat.

"It was good, I didn't do anything too drastic." Kabuto shook his head, "that means you did." I rolled my eyes, "just a few empty threats, no biggy."

Orochimaru laughed, "they don't know they're empty."

True.

Orochimaru was finishing an experiment on someone, it was gross. I didn't even look at it. But it seemed like he was about done.

"Sasuke Uchiha," I slowly turned to Orochimaru when he mentioned the name. But I had to feign ignorance.

"Itachi Uchiha's younger brother?" Orochimaru nodded, "I believe he could be a great vessel."

I nodded, he had already told me about how he needed new bodies. Though I already knew. "Hitori, help me with another chakra bath," Orochimaru suddenly started calling the chakra absorption seals that name.

Not that I minded, it was a completely better name.

But why did I have to help him? And the sudden request was weird too. I walked down the hall to where Orochimaru made a room just for chakra baths.

But I didn't really like it. Because the room next to us was where we got the chakra.

Usually it doesn't matter who we use, but today he wanted a ninja. So that's going to be fun. I rolled my eyes and filled the bathtub with water.

But when I turned around...

I wish I hadn't.

I saw the devil.

Kabuto also entered the room, so I just looked at him. He knew what I was doing so allowed it.

"No need to feel embarrassed," I scoffed but stayed silent.

Orochimaru finally entered the tube, I could stop looking at Kabuto now.

Orochimaru was taking a bath naked.

In front of us.

In front of me.

He needs to die!

"It's just my body Hitori, why so shy." I glared at him, "just because you're comfortable doesn't mean I am."

He shrugged before relaxing. The chakra must be kicking in.

Then came the waiting game.

In silence.

I spaced out. 

I love the waiting game.

But it was never long because Orochimaru made me talk to him the whole time.

I still want to die, don't forget that! "Hitori," I called it.

"Give me a massage." I froze.

This is new.

"Where?" I asked almost timidly.

"Shoulders."

Thank god.

Why am I thanking God!

I still have to give him a massage. I knelt to the ground as the bathtub was low. I was going to give him a massage but his hair was in the way.

Should I ask or just do it?

"Do what you like, if I don't like it..." He glanced at me from the corner of his eyes, "you'll know."

Great, now I'm being threatened.

I nodded and he went back to relaxing.

I gingerly gathered up his hair and-

How does this man take good care of his hair?!

I started braiding his hair, I didn't have an elastic so I used mine.

I mostly kept my hair in a bun, but now that it was out I realized how long it had become.

Anyway, back to Orochimaru, soft and shiny hair.

I never would have thought.

I slightly bent down to smell his hair.

By the time I realized what I did, Orochimaru found out as well.

"What are you doing?" I pulled back and acted like I was innocent.

"Nothing," I said slowly.

I put his hair in a messy bun instead of a braid and put my hands on his shoulders.

They were kinda cold, but not so much that it was concerning.

I put some pressure on his shoulders and started doing circular motions. Orochimaru stayed silent but tensed up a bit.

Seeing as he didn't say anything, I put more strength into it. Orochimaru made a small grunt sound to which I stopped moving.

"Keep going," guess he was fine with it. I kept doing it before moving my hands around. He made the same sound when I started massaging his shoulder blades.

I put a bit more strength into it and started pushing down a little. Orochimaru relaxed a little, "harder."

My eyes widened for reasons I don't want to say.

I nodded and decided to do a little experiment.

The consequence of failing, loss of life.

Mine and his.

I put a bit of chakra at the tips of my fingers, instead of using my strength. I use chakra instead.

Let's see if my gamble works.

I concentrated all my focus on this. And slow, the chakra built up.

There!

It worked!

But I now had to massage his shoulders more softly.

One wrong move and I could hurt him.

But...

It would be easy to break his neck right now.

He does kinda have a slender neck. It would probably take not a lot of force-

"Hitori."

Orochimaru's voice came out like a warning.

I noticed that I was putting a bit more force into my massage.

"Sorry, intrusive thoughts." I went back to doing what I was doing.

Close call.

I massaged him for a few more minutes before he signaled that he was done. I nodded and stepped away.

After a few minutes it looked like Orochimaru was in deep thought.

Deep deep thought.

So I spaced out again.

"Hitori," I turned my attention to him. "Starting two days from now, I'm going to train you for a month."

I tilted my head, "why?"

Orochimaru chuckled, "you need to wield your katanas better, it's sloppy."

I scoffed at him, "that was uncalled for!"

Orochimaru rolled his eyes, "but it is the truth."

I stared at him for a good few seconds wondering if I could snap his neck.

"But we'll talk about that another time, I'm done." Orochimaru suddenly stood up and stepped out of the bathtub.

I looked everywhere but him as I handed him his towel.

Kill me please.

Take me out of this misery.

"Hitori, look me in my eyes," I did as he said.

He brought a hand to my face.

I froze in place.

He slowly took off my eye mask, "I don't think I see you without this much."

He caressed my cheek, "you have a pretty face."

He lifted my chin, looking deep into my eyes. "Are you enjoying taking my chakra, Hitori?"

My eyes widened, "wha-"

"Silly girl. You must be surprised, I am too." he applied more strength into his grip.

"Smart girl, but not good enough to fool me."
