Ch 29

14:00, 29 August 2023

I have a lot of thinking to do.

The manga or anime never specified when the Uchiha massacre was, I just knew it happened a few days after Shisui died.

So I have to be on my toes.

I need to first fix some details on the barrier. I need to make it stronger. And bigger.

And my family, I will have a talk with them. They need to know if we are going to survive together.

And Naruto...

I need to see him too.

It is night by now, so he should be asleep. I go to his window, yep, still open. He needs to fix that.

I softly lay down beside him. It's almost like he's used to me because he straight away cuddled up to me.

He awoke a little, "Shishi."

I smiled, "hello Naruto, just keep sleeping."

I looked at me concerned "what's wrong Shishi?"

I looked confused, "what do you mean?"

I sat up and looked at my face "you seem so sad today."

He gently put a hand to my forehead "are you sick?"

I softly chuckled, "I'm not sick, Naruto."

He pouted "But you look sick, mom."

He immediately put a hand on his mouth.

I looked at him in shock.

Did...Did Naruto just call me mom?

"I'm so sorry! I'll never call you that again!"

He sounded completely scared and worried.

He raised his hands to my face, "I'll never call you that again, so... so just..."

He wiped my tears.

"So just don't cry."

I let out a quiet sob and I put my hands on top of his, "It's fine, Naruto."

I smiled through my tears.

"You can call me, mom."

I softly laughed as Naruto smiled brightly.

"Mom!" He hugged me tightly.

I hugged him back, tears still going down my face.

"Does this mean... we're a family?"

I let out another quiet sob, "we were a family from the start, Naruto."

He smiled and hugged me again, I patted his back.

"Does that mean... I'm not alone?"

I gasped for breath as I tried to keep my crying to a minimum.

"No Naruto, you were never alone."

I pulled away from the hug, "Naruto, let me give you something."

I pull the ribbon from my hair and loosely tie it around his wrist.

"Now, you will have something of mine with you," I made a little bow.

"I know it's not-"

"I love it!" Naruto smiled brightly, looking at the ribbon like it was gold.

"This means so much to me Mom," I chuckled and wiped my tears.

"Alright, but next time I'll give you something better," Naruto shook his head.

"All your gifts are equal to me," I smiled and patted his head.

"Ok, then next time I'll give you more gifts," Naruto laughed happily.

"Yay!" I chuckled, "alright, now go back to sleep."

Naruto nodded and laid down, "will you be here in the morning?"

I smiled, "I will."

Naruto smiled cutely and happily went back to sleep.

But sleep wouldn't come to me for a while.

Naruto... Sees me as a mother figure.

I was so happy... And so sad.

Naruto sees me as Family...

I said I wasn't going anywhere...

But the truth is...

I'm not even sure if I will survive...

I'm not sure if I will survive the Uchiha massacre...

I'm not sure if my parents will survive...

If I don't survive...

I will leave Naruto alone...

He will be alone...

He calls me mom...

He thinks of me as family...

But when I'm gone...

What will happen to Naruto...

He will cry...

He will be sad...

He will be alone...

What will happen to everyone...

What will happen to my friends...

What will happen to my family...

What will happen...

To Naruto...

To Sasuke...

To Kakashi...

To Hinata...

To him...

I don't know when I fell asleep but I woke up to an empty bed.

"Naruto?"

I called out, I got out of bed and walked to the kitchen.

And there he was, with a big smile on his face.

"I went to Ichiraku Ramen, here." He got take out.

I laughed, this guy.

"Thank you Naruto," I started eating, "of course mom."

I paused. I'm still not used to him calling me that. But it was nice.

He's probably calling me mom because I'm the only girl in his life.

"No Shishi, I call you mom because you're like a mom to me," I looked confused at Naruto, "it was written on your face."

I chuckled, "let's eat up quickly, you need to go to the academy." Naruto nodded and we both ate.

I dropped him off and quickly went home.

"Mom, dad, we need to talk."

They were both getting ready for a day at work.

"Can it wait, Ishi?" I shook my head.

"No, it's about the Uchiha clan," that got their attention. We all sat down and the tension was thick.

I explained how soon we will be in danger. Someone will come and try to kill the Uchiha clan. And they will succeed.

I didn't say who though.

My mom looked like she didn't believe me, but my dad was the opposite.

"How do you know this?" He asked, I shook my head.

"I can't tell you, but please believe me." My mom sighed "I don't know, it's just so much."

I nodded "yes it is, but would I joke about this? Isn't this a reality that might come because of this conflict."

That made her change her mind.

"What should we do?" there was panic in their voices.

"Should we try to leave the village?"

I sighed "I asked, no we can't."

My dad was the one who was panicking the most. I put a hand on both their shoulders, "I have a plan, but I need your help mom."

They both calmed down as I explained the plan, the tension still there but less drastic.

"So basically, you need my chakra?" My mom asked. I nodded "yes, it runs on having chakra being supplied constantly."

My mom nodded "makes sense, could it be done with one person?"

I hummed "it could happen but it would be very difficult, the person would be drained after 2 hours."

I sighed "that's why I need you in the house before sundown, we are the farthest house, we will be last."

My dad shuddered, "so what should I do?"

I nodded "make little survival kits for us. With food and weapons, try to make it last a while."

My mom hummed "are we leaving the village?"

I shook my head "I would prefer not to, but we never know."

They both nodded, "now go to work and act normal, we will survive this." They both smiled at me "we are so proud of you, you give us the hope, and will to live."

I smiled and we had a group hug.

You will survive with me.

They went to work while I went to my little cabin. It's time to make the barrier stronger.

After a full day's work, I finally went home.

I brought my barrier with me to show them that it is safe and secure. Plus it is a test run. I saw my dad and mom come into the house and I nodded my head.

"Stay here, I just need to get some stuff," I go to my room as everyone gets ready for the test run. I hummed, "I need this and that and-"

"AAAHHHH" I heard a scream.

A/n Enjoy~
