Chapter 17 - We Pledge Our Allegiance

LAXUS POV 

"Welcome Home." Mira's voice crackling, her eyes tearing up.

With her hand firmly in my grasp. I could feel her slightly tugging as an indication for me to let her go. But For some reason I just couldn't bring myself to let go of this hand.  Mira was trembling and even with that smile, I knew that it was forced. I have known this girl for as long as I can remember, we  have always butted head, and never seen things eye to eye. But she has been the only other person besides Lucy to accept my overbearing arrogant personality.

"Mira?" I say softly.

Just in that moment. A flood of tears trailed down Mira's face. I looked over Mira confused. But within seconds she yanks her hand out of mine, diverting her tear soaked face from me. Causing and unsettling feel in my chest.

I reach out to her again, wanting to comfort her, but she backs away.

"I need to restock the bar." Mira sniffled, as she wiped away her tears.

"Mira... I-" "Let's catch up soon... yeah?" Mira says, refusing to look at me, as she walks off.

But before I had time to ponder over what was up with Mira. I hear a loud and deafening wailing coming from my right.

"LAXUSSSSSSSSSS!" I tense at my name being called. Peeping over my shoulder, it was none other than the Thunder Legion, charging towards me. I brace myself for impact and just as I do. I feel them wrap their arms tightly around me, squeezing the life out of me.

"LAXUS WE MISSED YOU!" Freed, Evergreen and Bickslow sobbed uncontrollably. Even though they knew very well that I hate this sort of thing. I'll let them off this once, considering I left without a word. To be honest, even though they irritated me so much, I actually did "Miss you too." Making them cry even more.

After 30 minutes of their constant wailing and sniffling's  in my ear. I tried to separate them from me, but after a few tries it was no use. My effort as expected were proven futile.

"We were out patrolling the town, then we caught word that you had returned. So we all high tailed it back here. We had our doubts, but if there ever was a chance that you had in fact come back. We had no choice but to confirm it with our own eyes." Freed explains, still crying like a baby.

It was inevitable to try and avoid this. I had it coming. But I don't know just how much more my body, ear and mind can handle anymore of this. With every passing minutes, all three o them let of all the emotions that had built up over the years.

Then out of no where, with no help  from me whatsoever, one at a time they let go of me own their own. Wiping away their tears.

"Never.....leave...us...behind!" Evergreen cries, in between sniffles.

"It's good to have you back.. Laxus" Bickslow's sniffs, wagging his tongue around like a dogs tail."Laxus" Bickslow's dolls repeated.

Then Ever and Bickslow gaze shifted to Freed. Wiping his tears and adjusting his clothes. Freed reverted back to well composed posture and glared at me. I backed up a tad, knowing that I was about to get scolded for my abrupt disappearance. 

A nervous chuckle seeped out, as I nervously scratched my head. I needed to think of something and quick.

Than it came to me. "Ahh....Ummm.. Actually a lot of things happened while i have been gone.... So I have something that i need to tell you, as well as someone I would like you all to meet." I nervously say.

Bickslow and Ever brought their gaze back to me, looking at me with their full undivided attention, and Freed still glaring.

I took in a deep breath. Feeling a curious and anxious, as I psychic myself up to tell them.  "Well you see... Me and-- Ahh Lucy are married."

"EEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Freed, Ever, Bickslow, and his puppets screeched.

Swiftly I cuff my hands over my ears, muffling out their irritating screams.

"You're t-telling me.......Y-ou and t-t-t-that blonde.........A-are married." Freed struggling to comprehend.

Ever just busted into a flood of tears. "Our Laxus has been.....tamed by that blond bimbo......"

"Laxus are Lucy huh? Never would of guessed." Bickslow says, not to phased.

"I can't accept this...This has to be a joke." Freed blabbing in disbelief.

"That's not all." I turn to look for "Ahhh......LUNA!.....Can you com here for a second!" Waving her over.

Luna comes waltzing over to my side. "Yes father?"

"Father?" Bickslow says. "Father his puppets mimic.

"F-father." Evergreen stutters, as her jaw drops.

Freed just shifts his gaze back and forth between me and Luna. Blinking effusively.

"Everyone... I would like you all to meet my daughter Luna." I glance over at Luna. "Luna... sweetie. This is the Thunder Legion." I point to Freed. "This green haired guy is, your uncle Freed." I point to Ever. "This overly exposed women is your aunty Evergreen." I then point to Bickslow. "And this creepy looking person, with the super and freakishly long tongue is, your uncle Bickslows.... Oh and those things hovering behind him are his dolls."

LUNA POV

Leaping and wrapping my arms around them, I feel so overwhelmed with so  much gratitude towards them. I hugged them tighter. "Thank you for protecting my father. Aunty Erza, told me just how much of a handful and a inconsiderate jerk he was at times." "Hey" Father interrupted, sounding a little hurt. Making me giggle. "I'm so happy that you all stuck by him no matter what. So thank you...."

"Okay, break it up now. Before all the water works start up again." Father says.

Slowly I release the Thunder Legion from my hug. Greeting them with a smile. That was when all of a sudden... Uncle Freed got down on one knee. I took at a step back, unsure of what was about to happen, then unlce Bickslow and aunty Evergreen copied. Startled I looked up to father. But he just sighed and rolled his eyes.

"As it is our sworn duty to protect our leader Laxus Dreyer. We the Thunder Legion, Laxus's loyal and trusted body guards, now extend our protect to his daughter Luna. We will from this day on be your utmost trusted bodyguards. The Thunder Legion is at your command Lady Luna." Uncle Freed declares.

"We pledge our allegiance to you." Uncle Bickslow and Aunty Evergreen state.

"Always with the formalities." Father sighs.

One by one, they pick themselves up off their bended knee. Even though this is not what I want, I knew just by the look on their faces, that even if I am to refuse their proposal. It would be just a never ending argument.

Father nudges me. "Just politely accept." father descretly whispers.

I just nodded and shyly smiled. "Ahhh Thank you..." I say, feeling uneasy.

Aunty Erza did tell me how freakishly loyal they were..... But this is beyond me.

LEVY POV

"So you and Laxus...Huh?" I sneak up behind Lucy, pouncing on her like a wild beast.

Lucy just blushed, her cheeks were as red as a rose.

She then shrugged me off. "It's not a big deal." "Not a big deal?....You and Laxus are Married. You of all people managed to tame Fairy Tails most feared member." I over exaggerated.

Lucy then smiled a little and blushed even harder. "Underneath his bad guy act. Laxus is actually really caring, considerate and he has this weird thing he does, where he acts like he doesn't care at all. Like he's not interested in pity things....But the longer we were together, I realized that when he closes his eyes, with his arms crossed, an a pissed of expression. That in truth,  was his way of protecting himself from bothersome and useless feelings, that could later hurt him." As Lucy rambled on about Laxus. I saw a glimmer in her eyes. "Laxus has been so amazing.... I really do love h-" But then out of no where Lucy stopped. Staring behind me.

LUNA POV

While I was standing with father, all the rowdy commotion quieted down, reducing to a bunch of childish-like voices, whispering and murmuring. Curious I scanned the room, wondering what could it be. That was when I caught a glimpse of spiky pink hair, walking through the guild hall. At first I was unsure as to why, it looked so familiar.

FLASHBACK

"Aunty Erza. I wouldn't dare to ask father or mother this. But the first time I met you, was also the first time I met that person....Natsu... I can't seem to shake this feeling like...I know him from somewhere. I would ask mother and father why our hair was the same color. But every time I would, the both of them would give me the exact same expression you are giving me now."

Aunty Erza's facial expression sadden. "Luna...I-"

"It's just every since I can remember. For the longest time, it felt like a part of me was missing. But when I saw him. Something inside me was filled, and now that I am older... I think I understand why." Suddenly tears begin to fall. "I love my father....But I know......I know he isn't my real father...." I sob.

Aunty Erza quickly hugs me.

END FLASHBACK

"Natsu.." His name slips out, as I see him pause in mother view. Mother looked at him, as if he had just seen a ghost.
